Really like your depth! But I don't quite get the story.. Why did you make a city with all the lights on? (and therefore an "normal" city..)? I would have imagined some apocalyptic kind of thing...

very nice. Making Of documentary about its visual effects? i really want to watch that video. are you talking about "Dangerous Days: Making of Blade Runner"?
I'll take that as a compliment. But no, it's not taken directly from the film. Although it's heavily inspired by it, of course, and I used similar (but digital instead of miniatures) methods in creating it.
Great job pal, I've started experimenting with the camera mapping technique using 3ds max and nuke and its an amazingly creative procedure. Did u use stock footage for the flames ??
I think I used five separate images, pictures of sci-fi looking buildings I painted in Photoshop. I put them on cards and distributed them into the scene - there are a few hundred cards in there in total. The absolute background is a matte painting.
It's basically the same method they used to create the original opening shot in Blade Runner, I wanted to see if could do something similar in digital form instead of using acid etched metal cards on a miniature set.
cool to see that im not the only one who loves Blade Runner. i own the blade runner trilogy, 3 CD music by vangelis, if you are interested in it just let me know :)
It's a combination of 2D and 3D. I used 3D Studio Max, Fusion and Photoshop.
You'll need a 3D package to do something like this because of how the camera moves in the shot, but you could use pretty much any 3D software to do that. The 3D part isn't really complex at all.
Nice work! But I would slow down the flames to 1/3 of the current speed for getting the right scale. Atm they look like a 20-feet fire to me. Maybe you just take the footage into Fusion and interpolate it down or so.
Brillaint!!

flames could use some work, but the city is freakin awesome. I would love to see the setup you have from your other video.
