  • cool! good tutorial, I tend to find other tutorials too long winded like note for note... good song too!

  • Which guitar is this ?

  • Chords are thought too fast... Could you write them down? :<

  • your fingers look funny when you play those powercords^^

  • I love that head shake thing you do

  • @JOHNNYG99X please could i have the tabs for this!! i cant understand what yours saying, its too quiet

  • can you give me the tabs please.

  • hi thank for the lesson

hi would like if u go to chaneel and see my videos and also give a comment with the critic aspects that u like and that u dont like

  • great video thank for the upload its VERY helpful! but......are you sure your not nick leeson who brought down Barings bank in the 90's? ;-p

  • Great!!! Thanks a lot!!!

  • Awesome vid man, i watched this a couple of years back and it basically got me on a roll in terms of blues and playing guitar. I had just come back to "like" the video. Id like to thank you so much for basically making me a great guitarist, all thanks to this one video.

  • Awesome video, I learned the intro in about 30 mins flat. I left out the high E string for the whole intro, I'm pretty sure that's how it's played on the album. So I play the Dm with just middle and ring fingers, then strum the top 5 strings only for the Bb/C, including the low E (I think A shaped chords sound better with the low E)

  • nice vid !

the trick with the Dm fingering helped me pad out the tab on e-chords .com

    to pad out the intro

your fingering and hand transitions helped me loads in learning this song, cheers mate i owe you one ;P

    mat

  • A BIT SLOWER AND ACTUALLY SHOW THE FINGERING

  • very good playing and nice guitar sound...keep up the good work!

  • how you shake your head at 0:11, man you make it too easy, this is not easy like you play :D

  • @pierrotlaguitare AGREE !!! He is ga great player and presenter as well.

Thanks. More would come from him, I hope.

  • Thats awesome!

  • Damn bar chords!!! (&#$y&(#@)& I think I broke a finger...lol. If only, if only I had the same dexterity....sigh.

  • This video would be perfect IF you had the chords wrote out in the description...even if only for the verse.

  • thank you so much man... you are a good teacher.

  • Thank you sir.. i like it

  • I've been trying to figure out this song for some time now and i finaly got it thx to you! =) Plz keep uploading your vids, they are great! =D

  • thanks, I was really struggling with this one :)

  • tutorials should be more like this..... it's really direct and kets you know what you need to know..... may be for players that already know their way around guitar, but it's a great tutorial......

  • Thank you! Great lesson! This is one of the lessons that got me going again after a 20 year guitar hiatus. Appreciate your work!

  • omg ur good!

i've trying to get passed the first three notes for 2 days haha

    *im just a begginer btw*

  • thank you my friend!

  • single word: D@mn.

  • Good afternoon Johnny

Great idea to post this, I have seen Clapton and Winwood playing "Layla" live in Berlin. I will start to learn how to play this great song.

thanks again and carry on , mate

    cheers

  • Nicely done. I'm playing this with root position chords (mostly) but that's just my laziness talking. Thank you for making this so easy to understand, and for sharing your knowledge and talent.

  • Tadeusz Clapton , mawhahhawhawhaw!

  • Very nice fast tutorial for the advanced beginner. :) Thank you very much.

  • is this std tuning?

  • o. you realy help me!

  • can you help me out with a tabulator for this one? the ones i find around the internet always seem to be a little wrong. and i often find variations for the same chords. can you tell me for what chord what strings are pulled down? i cant really see the single strings on the video so its hard to figure out by myself. thanks in advance

  • i love this song

  • just wanted to say thanks mate

  • After tha A maj, then whats the fingering you are using for the C major?

    Thanks!

  • youre good

  • Good job man. A little bit to hard lesson for me, but you played it perfect.

  • Thanks for the help. You helped a novice play a facsimile of a great song!

  • Marvellous......

  • cheers man very good tutorial took me 10 mins very clear

    thnks

  • Whats the name/model of your guitar?

  • no offense but you look like Eric's main rhythm guitar! Merry Fairweather Low!

  • fuk ur as beter then him ffs lol

  • i liked this alot your very good, i do a version of this too maybe you might like to check it out if you have the time, be well mate.

    rob!

  • nice done man...

look at his fingers on 1:13... look like .!. xD

  • I can't stop laughing you make that so easy looking

  • yep im taking like 3years off the work and starting learning this masterpiece

  • man acoustics sound amazing, does anyone know a good sounding one round 300-400 U.S. dollars?? Perhaps sold at guitar center?

  • Washburn or Tanglewood perhaps.

  • Manuel Rodriguez

  • @Guitarfollower22 Dont buy from guitar center. LoL, washburn sells solid tops great quality for that price

  • much less. Gibson Maestro, runs from 89-150 depending on where you go. Just change the strings (the factory strings suck, to be honest) to C.F. Martin & Co. (or just "Martin") lights and it's like a whole new guitar, sounds so much better.

  • it would really help if u get a close up to the guitar.

  • hey just wonderin gdo you hav ethe tabs for this song

  • I love this song, you are fantastic

  • nice one.

  • i dont get the beggining how many times do you pick the A string

  • solid skills

  • really good :)

  • you should try playing the Dminor with your first three fingers and do the slight bend on the A string with your second finger this is how clapton does it and how people who play blues approach many of their licks, for example in many solos a minor pentatonic run is done with the first two fingers not one three like most are taught, many gifted players figured this out, and not only in blues if you think this is weird I can tell you Clapton does this, as well as some other like Django Rheinhardt

  • fuck u bitch this guy is good

  • dshut up

  • lol! at the end its funny how u said "have a good day"

  • Very well taught!

  • Gracias!

A zoom on the left hand would help, but this makes me work for it more!

  • Great video many thanks.I would however second the suggestions of more information on the fingerpicking part. Tab or a video lesson dedicated to the more intricate fingerpicking part would be hugely appreciated I think by many of us?

  • Very nice and sharp cover, However

you say you are playing dm, but you

what are U really playing at 0.11 ??

  • Comment removed

  • At 0.11 he is still going to be going back to playing the dm but instead of picking with his ring finger he is using his middle. ^^

  • LOL you flip off everyone when you do the b-flat :)

but anyways nice lesson, good job

  • Good instructional video. right up to the point where you use fingering in the verse and don't explain any of it whatsoever. had to look at your fingers and improvise to learn it. oh, whoops, thats the way you learn stuff :P

  • Comment removed

  • can someone tab the finger picking section at 1:57??

  • great thanks for the simple version

much easier than the other lol

now try to learn how to do the electric version in the correct timing it is nearly impossible lol srysly tho thank you

  • Excellent Johnny Thanks very much!!!!

  • This song is a classic! There's an electric version as well that's a little more upbeat. But I suppose you and your infinite talent could write something better. =/
