  • Now I have seen everything

  • that's how you drive like a boss

  • Dude he drives backwards because most of the weight of the car is on the front tyres so he got more grip.

  • why the fuck should he be crazy? he just uses simple laws of traction u dont understand... so another brick in the wall of ignorance i guess huh?

  • if you drive in reverse with fwd you have rwd... that works....

  • wow this was boring. like if you started skipping through the film after approximately 1 min!

  • maybe reverse was the only gear that worked

  • Info: ''in order to simulate rear-wheel-drive'' What kind of joke is that? rear wheel drive is a lot worse, not better on a road like this. Even a child would understand that.

  • @KoivuTheHab not necessarily... see when your going up hill all the weight is dragged towards the back of the car, due to gravity... and in a front wheel drive car your weight is in front. so when the pull of gravity takes in towards the back (down hill) it can cause issues.. plus more front wheel drive cars are positive traction up front.. and possitive rear traction is the way to go... is this guy crazy ... HELL YEA..

  • @suncruiser00 *you're. Also that makes no sense, everyone knows that back wheel drive is worse than front wheel drive in any winter conditions.

  • Not bad. Should have whipped it around and keep momentum

  • I really hate wannabe hero fucktards who have to come and say such as it's bad using a camera when driving... it's easily comparable to adjusting the car stereo but we're all allowed to do that I think?

Maybe he started the camera at the side of the road, making driving with it tantamount to driving with a beverage or sandwich.

Get a clue, it's nowhere near something you can compare to trying to write a text message.

  • Fwd cars can do anything in reverse.

  • is your Benz RWD or 4-Matic?

  • i love how some people are calling this person retarded yet he is driving a truck let alone filming and keeping the truck in control some of you sound like straight down right idiots in my book, and have fun posting back to my post i honestly do not waste my time replying back to morons on you tube that post retarded posts on something they cannot obviously see that the man is good at what he is doing have a good day morons.

  • the driver and the grandfather of the ken brock spending time

  • He didn't lose control at all. The fact he was able to steer through all those curves proves he had traction. I've driven over 3 million kilometers in Northern Canada, much of it in winter conditions. If he'd been out of control, he'd have gone into a snow bank, right away. I think he was stunting, and doing one hell of a good job of it.

  • the car fear mercedes!

  • i know its not flat in oregon.. Yea ok.. I know in oregon if you have a 4x4 or 2 wheeldrive cr or truck you have to carry snow chains.. but the law will let you drive a 4x4 over a snow pass without snow chains on.. Oh and BELIEVE ME, I know how to Drive IN the SNOW................. I have never used chains on any of my cars or trucks... Or nor Have I used studded tires on any of my rigs....

  • not the smartest thing to do but still ya gotta give em some credits for doing it though ;)

  • Had to do this my self to go up a slippery hill.

But only a few 100' not a freakin mile.

  • @Mr4x4forlife Is it necessary to immediately call someone you don't even know "retarded"? Isn't that a bit "retarded" to begin with?

"Snow chains were obligatory" actually means that they ARE obligatory because there is a traffic sign indicating such and you get a nasty fine in Germany if you don't obey it plus your insurance won't pay.

And, "it all depends on how you can drive", true, this guy knows what he's doing but it's still stupid considering he's not alone on the road; mistakes happen.

  • @Tifosi2003 Well my bad but you are the one driving while filming.. and here in america you get a big fat fine for doing that.. so it is RETARDED of you, using your phone or camera while driving in snow...

  • @Mr4x4forlife Uhm... They sure are necessary! Maybe it was flat enough where you lived but here in switzerland we have roads where you can't just throw 4x4 in and off you go. Snow chains are not only for safety and if there's a sign you HAVE TO put them on. And believe me, I know how to drive on snow...

  • @Mr4x4forlife It depends on how you can drive? How about you take some advice from someone who lives in a country with real winter? How you can drive doesn't make any difference at all if the surface is ice. If you knew any physics at all you would know that rubber does NOT have any traction on ice. This has nothing to do with ''how you can drive''. Before you come on here accusing others of being retards, at least look in the mirror and make sure you aren't retarded yourself you stupid yank.

  • @KoivuTheHab Yank??? lol why don't you butt out you Numb Nut.. I am Mechanic and know how to drive in snow.. Rubber does or can get grip on ice... I know for a fact.. I has done it.. I could be that you don't know how to drive.. So calm down RETARD.. have nice day RETARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Mr4x4forlife Well aren't you mature. Do you have issues little boy? I suggest you learn some things about the world around you, you clearly do not even know what ice is. ''I has done it.. I could be that you don't know'' <---- LOL For your information I drive for a living, so it's not much use trying to argue about 'winter conditions' that you think you have in some redneck state. Grow up...

  • @KoivuTheHab Redneck is a miner so I am not a miner, Old Man.. I do know how to drive..Old Man I am a Grown Man.. Plus Oregon is a Country Boy State for your Info.. And Oregon does get Bad winters in Central Oregon.. Maybe you should look it up.. Cause you don't sound like a trucker.. you sound like a little boy..

  • @Mr4x4forlife I'm not a trucker you little fucker. Truckers are redneck scum. I never said you don't know how to drive, I am sure you are cabable of driving with your limited intelligence, however it is very clear you know nothing about winter conditions, everyone who lives up north knows rubber doesn't grip on ice. Your statements prove that you are grossly missinformed, probably because of lack of experience. Anyone who has experience driving on ice would laugh at your statements.

  • @KoivuTheHab So you say I don't know how to drive in snow.. Even thou my father taught me how to drive in snow with bald tires.. A tire will not get traction if spinning.. But a tire will get grip if slowly rotating in motion on any surface... Plus not all Truckers are redneck scum you city slicker.. Maybe you should watch more videos of cars and 4x4 in snow.. I been driving since I was 7 years old and know you don't need chains or studs on ice... but you can use them if you wish..

  • @Mr4x4forlife You lived in central oregon? Wow, that means youre american. Then you sure know everything :)

  • @TheIsbjoernen lol.. I am American... And I do know a lot..

  • Is nothing wrong with the guy,he just trying to get home. The car is FWD,so if u go uphill is better to reverse. If u reverse u go easier uphill because the weight of the engine is on tractor wheels.(We are not talking about ice.Is a different story there :)

  • WHAT. A. BEAST. Not too smart yet genius at the same time.

  • you are all fucking retarded. this has to do with weight transfer. It dont matter that the engine is on top of FWD, the weight still gets transfered to the back when the car accelerates(same way when you brake all the weight gets tranfered to the front), and FWD spins the wheels going uphil. Also going uphill adds to weight transfer to the back. Anyways DAMN! the mofo got skills!!! And to end on a positive note I must say that he is one backward hillbilly.

  • fucking boys got skill behind the wheel!!!!!

  • RWD or FWD doesn't mean nothing in that situation. I THINK (=Not fucking sure) he only had to brake to go down,so what he did was pointless.

  • It is a wonder that driver did not grenade the transmission at that speed

  • I guess once you passed him the other guy tried to get up there again? XD

  • The person filming is even more crazy.. That is worse then texting and driving.

  • @kilteddave1 Not quite as dangerous as texting and driving as I only looked down once to find my phone, from there I didn't have to look at the screen anymore. Reading a text message and actively typing stuff (even if you don't need to look down) is a much bigger distraction than pressing record and holding the phone in a stable position.

  • Doing this at low speed = hey, that's quite innovative.

Doing it at 30+ km/h = O_O not sure whether to be impressed or just shocked

  • hahaa smart guy xD

  • fuck it......am gettin home no matter what!!

  • I think, that FWD car have shit winter tires..because driver who recorded him have front engine RWD Mercedes..best for winter is all in back (like Porsche,Renault 8 and so on) or small light FWD car with narrow winter tires (145mm)

  • @KubikCv My old FWD volks on 145 rubber = "Snow? What's that? You mean this grippy white stuff I'm dancing across? What are you worrying about?" :D

  • rwd is worst in snow conditions though real drivers prefer rwd for enthusiest driving. FWD sucks for turning corners no sports car should be like that. e30 bmw's 2dr version some really hard to control in slush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nar man that's clever aye...FF car weight at the back so no nose diving into a ditch on corners, rear wheel turning means more control and he got the full use of the handbrake.

  • Your retarded rwd is always better in the snow if you haven't noticed he is driving backwards so the tires are in back of his point of motion that's why he's apparently crazy? No he's just trying to get home

  • @HorsepowerHD If you would have read the video description you would have realised that I'm fully aware of the fact that he is trying to emulate RWD...so no need to immediately resort to "retard"...

Also, yes, RWD is generally better in snow IF you have enough weight over the rear axle (which is why we here in Switzerland put weight in the trunks of our BMWs) and IF the driver knows a thing or two about oversteer and how to recover from it.

  • @Tifosi2003 How much weight do you put in the boot of your BMWs? My girlfriend has an awful time in her 1series! She put 1 10kg bag of rocksalt in but it didn't help.

  • @Jonay1990 10kg is really not enough, you should really put at least 60kg for some difference and 100kg for the full effect. Fuel consumption will go up but at least you will get up the hill :)

  • Comment removed

  • @HorsepowerHD Oh, and one more thing.... it's "You're retarded" as in "you're = you are"...not "your retarded"...

  • @Tifosi2003 actually you're is a contraction and is technically wrong as well.

  • @Tifosi2003 Do you have a retarded? horsepowerhd probably asked for one :P

  • @Tifosi2003 NO! Its MY retarded, not yours. You can't have it.

  • @HorsepowerHD Ahh, l'm retarded! So THAT'S why the FWD cars I drive sail past so many stranded RWD ones...

I'd sooner blame it on RWD owners often having more of a passion for driving and so pay more attention and exercise more care. Though at the same time, they're quite likely to have automatics, and I've never seen anyone have more trouble getting up a hill than a guy in a FWD Auto Ford Galaxy.

No throttle = it creeps to the bottom of the hill, and stops. Feather touch on throttle = SPINNNN!

  • @HorsepowerHD driving backwards at 30 mph/per hour is not the best way to get home.

  • @HorsepowerHD Actually, no. you are the one who is fucking retarded. FWD is always better the RWD. the engine is over the front tires making more grip. Moron.

  • @HorsepowerHD no they are not...simply because the engine (presumably at the front) is quite heavy and if a car has FWD has more traction

  • @HorsepowerHD Rear wheel drive is good ONLY if you have snow tires. After the word "snow", there should have been a period. The new sentence should have started with the word "If". It should have read like this:

You're retarded. RWD is always better in the snow. If you haven't noticed, he is driving backwards so the tires are in back of his point of motion.

    That's why he's apparently crazy?

No, he's just trying to get home.

  • yep I pulled that stunt also, I was forced to do so for I got stuck in a snow blizzard unexpected and didnt have my chains so the only way out was to spin the car around and drive in reverse.its possible like that but its hard work to get it right.

  • it looks silly but it is a fact: a frontwheel drive car has more traction when going backward!

  • @jfv65 its interesting how people say front wheel drive is better then rear wheel drive in the snow yet they make their front wheel drive cars go.... backwards? =\

  • @kzak104 It doesn't really matter if the wheels are on the front or the back, the reason front wheel drive cars are better in snow is because the engine is almost always in the front. It would be better if you had a rear wheel drive car where the engine was in the trunk compartment. I bet he would still be going reverse, though, because he is going in reverse is not for tire position, he actually wants to be in reverse. That gear offers better traction.

  • maybe he lost forward...lol

  • Seriously,

This is the best way to enter this car uphill (front whells drive).

  • @nygus7 yes of coarse, makes sence

  • haha very cool!!!

    Wishes from Oberstdorf xD
