  • i just drove through there yesterday and they still have 1 lane closed for miles.

  • It doesn't take 3 months to clean up a pile of rocks but it does to stabilize the side of a mountain so it won't happen again anytime soon. They will be blasting all of the loose rocks off of the mountain side for quite a while.

  • Should of built the road on top of all the dirt would have been cheaper and faster!

  • 3 months to clean up a pile of rocks??????.

Talk about milking a job, typical DOT. Give me a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm surprised too. Must be some bureaucrot land rules slowing da DOT down.

  • we didnt know about this so when we tried to go to nc from wisconsin and met this rock slide..we took a very long detour..

  • I-40 and US 64 closed all at the same time? Looks like we'll be taking the Tail of the Dragon highway instead as the official detour route to get to Tennessee enroute back to California from N.C.! We're driving a pretty good sized RV that used to be a greyhound bus that was retrofitted, btw! Wish us good luck on the TOTD road!

  • anyone thinking of taking Highway 64 to bypass this.... too bad... rock slide here too.. They think they can get it cleaned up in about 3 weeks.

  • Nope, it's still blocked, too. TDOT is expecting work to be finished by the end of March, now.

    That's a 100+ mile detour, too.

  • This Is All Because It's The End Of The World. So It's Ok.

  • It's because they were told not to build it and this would happen ad the morons rallied to have it built.

  • I would just build a ramp over it.

  • Now the detour is blocked as well.

  • I've driven on that road dozens of times. Good thing I wasn't there when this happened!

  • 3 months, what is only one guy going to do it?

  • Yikes, up to 3 months to clear this...

  • I just went around on the detour around this today,( 42 miles),not reaaly bad at all,,if your light

  • Holy crab cakes!!! Glad no one was under that rock slide.

  • ive driven that many times!

  • soo cool

It would be even better if a van full of illegals was under the rubble.

  • Yes 3 months at least.... and lots and lots of overtime will be needed... They will also need to higher cops to direct traffic and also pay them lots of overtime. Looks like a 5-6 million dollar job to me. ;-)

  • If there is enough money...I live near there but not in Haywood county and we are so low on money because of our stupid sheriff...over $100,000 a year is going to him...aghh not the right time for it...

  • and its going to be a long trip going out of state for Thanksgiving...we have to got through there to get to where we are going...its going to be a long Wednesday before Thanksgiving... :/

  • I shot the sheriff

  • Probably true if their gonna do it by hand !

  • It only took 3 weeks to clear the 9/11 debris.

  • I don't think so.

  • Yeah right! My husband was there for 11 straight months to manage debris removal and sifting.

  • too cool for zhe audio eh!

    eh! eh! eh! eh!?

  • The raw videos rarely have sound

  • it does camera is brocken just makes funny noise

  • *rolls eyes and shakes her head*

  • three months? wtf are the rocks radioactive or what the fuck

  • so new, there's not even audio.
