Bernard White is one of the most intelligent, compassionate men in the world. He has dedicated his entire life to social justice and deserves much credit. I am appalled by the blatant racism expressed in some of the other comments. It horrifies me how much hatred and intolerance still exists. I for one am grateful to Mr. White and his good works.

certainly there is no excuse for some of the comments here but lets not exaggerate. Bernard is a straight out bigot and everyone knows it. He and his small gang of separatists have done everything to polarize Wbai. The station has lost many supporters and is on the brink of extinction.

there are three people who i would love to listen to, even if they were just reading the daily headlines: Richard Burton, Jeremy Irons and Bernard White. Given that the first two are actors, and Bernard is a real person doing real things, i would have to say that i would listen to him 24/7 if possible, sorta like looking forward to comfort food at the end of a hard day.

The white man Harold Channer, (not Bernard) is very patronizing, kinda slow in his thinking, and imposes too much unncecessary commentary in the interview.

it is easy to critique outward appearances, it is much more difficult to decipher the essence. Mr. Channer may not fit your cookie cutter, but he does fall under the category of a myriad of positive attributes. I see him as a role model.
