  • Hi I am having problems starting my motorized bicycle. I got it 3 weeks ago and it ran very well til now it wont start. What might be the problem? It ran good then the next tank i mixed to much oil and ruined the spark plug but i bought the new one and it ran the first time and the next day it wont start. I re drained the gas and put the right mix and another new spark plug lol but it wont start. I checked the cdi ignition gives sparks but i think its there is not enough spark. PLEASE HELP ME

  • what you call the choke is the fuel tap and i think you need a bigger rear sprocket

  • what you call the choke is the fuel tap

  • maybe you should get a new spark plug

  • not bad man 5/5

  • im not sure which way on the carb does the valve turn off or on. just no choke and try it both ways. make sure u get a good speed to start the bike. hope i helped!

  • many problems my friend!! you need to have these electrical wires wrapped and away from the manifold/ exhaust it prevent miss fire! your valve that you say is a choke, is fule offf/on valve. you dont need to choke to start if its warm enough out side. pull the leaver on carb down for choke off!

  • @nat23309 OK Got you I bought a bigger sprocket, its coming n the mail. And i will definetely wrap the wires but lol i dont think this too important is it? how can the wires not start the engine if they are not wrapped? But anyway i will put the choke off. But put the valve off too right? (all the way down?)

  • Your rear wheel sprocket is about half the size it needs to be.

With the drive ratio you have now you would be going about 20mph at engine idle speed. There is no way that engine can pull that ratio.

What you are calling a choke is actually a fuel valve, not the choke. Your bike has 2, one on the tank and one on the carb. The lever down is on, flat is off.

  • Hey Jay, your bike looks good so far! I think your issue is that when you start pedaling you have the choke on, once it starts up take your hand and turn the choke off, it should start running, if only spuddering, put it on half choke, I believe you said you have that, then pedal some more then turn the choke back off. Once you get it running you will figure out exactly what you need to do. So, start pedaling, once started turn the choke off, then you should be good to good. Let me know!

  • @gearheadgriffin i tried to run it with choke off but still wont start. : (( But i will try again? some1 else told me to get a bigger sprocket and ima see if that works. thank you for answing my video!

  • @yzx1admin However you got it to run for a few seconds do that again, once it runs for 2 seconds reverse the choke settings. So if you got it to run with the choke on, once running, turn the choke off. Let me know

  • Start by turning area 3 CCW in the attached video "Motorized Bicycle Carb Tuning pt 2." If it doesn't work continue adjusting then try to restart. If you run out of adjustment in area 3 move to area 4 and turn CCW in the same manner. Let me know what happens.

    Good Luck!!!

  • @zaviii122 the adjusting wont start it either l: ( but i will try other stuff? buy a big sprocket.

  • @yzx1admin buying a big sprocket wont help you start it when you pop start it a small sprocket will turn the motor over motor increasing your chances to get it to run math 10 tooth to 60 is a big gear for torque not speed

  • @zaviii122

Try adjusting area 2 CCW in the same video. I assume you mixed the fuel/oil ratio 16:1. What kind of oil? You may have a bad spark plug. We have built bikes with brand new kits and the spark plug was bad. Even if the plug was bad sometimes you could get it to start sometimes but that's it. Check or replace it and gap it to .030 spark plug model# NGKB5HS

Also make sure the carburetor is attached tightly.

If you get it started again try to take off and run it for a few minutes.
