This is redicoulous! Reminds me of my former boss He had the longest running restaurant in town but he was cheap and mean and actually tried stopping other resturants from opening! It never worked but still pathetic....I know how you compete agaisnt your competition...MAKE BETTER FOOD! lol
If they kicked the food trucks out from where I work we'd starve! The nearest brick and mortar restaurant is a ten minutes walk save the deli across the street which is double the price and takes forever. The food truck has also ready made food that we can eat now and is damn good. It's usually my breakfast on my first 15 minute break, ha!
If they are getting kicked off private property, then too bad so sad. If they are getting kicked out of public space and they have a permit to have a food truck, then that is wrong. Answer to this mess, set up a schedule of stops during the day at local businesses that would appreciate them being there. Shouldn't be too hard to do.
@dlstb If you were watching the video you would know there is no permit for food trucks as of now. That is the purpose of the video. Second when we talk about gettign kicked out of private property it is property that we were invited to by the property owner. Most cases it was a restaurant on the property or near that called BPD. Even though we had permission we ALWAYS leave to not create a problem. Third we are just asking for our right to do business in the city of Buffalo.
@ctaylor31277 I find it hard to believe that there is still a place in the US where you don't need a permit to operate a business. I wish it were true everywhere. But if you have the permission of property owners, then why are you letting the police and your competition push you around? Tell the officers what for and go on about your business. They have no right or privilege to deny the rights of you or the property owner who invited you. Good luck with your business!
This is just the Glam in front of the tax increases for food trucks. The brick and mortar businesses have nothing to do with this and are being used by the government to create a false outrage. Next step? Huge tax and permitting increases to bury the food trucks.

@tomnshanna The B & M's have everything to do with this and dragged the governemnt into it. Tried to use government power to protect their business. Protectionism at it's finest.
I can see your point. However, I am a tad suspicious of the government here. I believe they enticed the B&Ms to start the uproar to deflect the analysis away from the gov when they raise your fees and taxes. Good luck to you guys. May I suggest a self policing mentality and allow some room between you and a competing B&Ms. They already pay heavy fees and taxes and are unable to move out of the way.
This is the exact reason why I won't go into any business, the other shops act like your taking food out of their families mouths, and its that type of thinking that doesn't promote good attitudes and happy customers, when you live in a negative society all you are going to get is negativity.
I would have KILLED for a food truck when I was on jury duty! Omg, it was a pain in the ASS having to walk to mainplace, wait in LOOOOONG lines, and get back in time to eat and start in court again. I fully support food trucks. They just need some laws in place so people stop bitching.
How horribly typical of Buffalo! The city is dying and common council still doesn't hesitate to make life hard for fledgling entrepreneurs. It's good to see people be concerned about this but hopefully they'll also realize it's also endemic of the wider role city government plays in regard to private business. I haven't lived in Buffalo for years but the examples of the casino and Bass Pro immediately come to mind.
The flip side of this: the city charges the brick n mortar restaurants a fortune in commercial taxes, business rates, and slugs them with any new regulation they can think of.
A more fair approach would be to lobby the city for LESS of those regulations & taxes so that the competition is more fair.
I don't hear them saying food trucks banned, I hear business' wanting to defend their bounderies which is within the law. It's not tough to find an area without restaurants in range. Brick and morter eateries pay property tax as well as business tax, they have rights too.
@karozans Agreed! Businesses have a right to their property and nothing else. These restaurants want to impose boundaries that extend beyond the property which they own and pay taxes for.
I agree with you 100%. Did you read my entire conversation with A1R5N1P3R on this forum? Apparently he/she is unable to grasp this concept.
For some reason certain people cannot understand that government has caused these problems in the first place, and they think that government is still able to solve the problems if they just pass more laws and regulations.
@karozans Okay, since I'm responding to a moron with no functioning concept of the real world, let me make this simple.
I New York City, where vendors of all kinds are legal, and make good business the following is true and for good reason: If a coffee cart is too close to a business that serves coffee, they may be told to move depending on location, same for trucks, and that's fair. The trick is for cart and truck vendors to find their own niche, their own following. This vids bogus.
@karozans Do you even run a business, or do you think life revolves around a job? Next thing you know you'll be saying for the horde, seeing as a World of Warcraft icon is your profile pic. Like I said, no concept of the real world. How is the Auction House doing? You're probably poor ingame as well.
Oh, and on your channel, which you mistakenly dedicate to "the one and only true god, jesus christ" sigh. Fool, according to your religious beliefs isn't jesus the SON of god, lol...
My city is having this same fight! Except for us, it's that food trucks are currently banned, and need to apply to the city to have the ban lifted. The restaurants are having a hissy fit. What a pathetic bunch they are.

There is no RIGHT to have a business in the USA.
There is no such thing as business' having boundaries.
Abolish property tax and business tax and the problem is solved.
In a Free-Market society EVERYTHING gets cheaper, better, faster.

There is no right to have a successful business in America.

Judging by your grammar it's fairly obvious who the real moron is.
I will reiterate.
There is no RIGHT that guarantees a successful business in the US of A.
If you think there is, please point it out in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.
What you described is called Crony Capitalism. Crony Capitalism hurts the vast majority and benefits only a few.
Clearly you are part of the problem.

I am getting ready to open a small business with 3 buddies of mine.
What does that have to do with anything?
The icon isn't a WoW icon. It is a derivative of the Quake II icon that I made in Photoshop.
Auction House??? I have no idea what you are talking about.
No. If you knew anything about Christianity Jesus is God.
Every ad hominem from you proves nothing.
I will reiterate yet again.
There is no RIGHT that guarantees a successful business in the US of A.
