@glock70 Once they've initiated the attack a leg grab technique would work fairly well, but its a fairly risky game and if you get it wrong its an instant hansoku-make. Ideally, just avoid getting dragged into that position as best as you can. Also, as they are throwing you, your best bet is to skip off to the side or drop your weight.
I've never met anyone from Alabama, including myself, with this accent.

I think that's Sumi Gaeshi, not Hikikomi Gaeshi.

nope. it's hikikomi gaeshi.
it's the same as sumi gaeshi, but in hikikomi you go over Uke's back, trapping an arm.
in Sumi gaeshi, you just have normal grip or both arms, you don't go over his back to trap the arm and shoulder.
hikikomi gaeshi = [pulling in] + [revearsal]
sumi gaeshi = [corner] + [revearsal]
hope i explained easily enough. if not, watch both on youtube, you can easily see the difference in grip!

Is there any kind of takedown that you can perform when standing behind your opponent that isn't a sacrifice throw?
Thanks

Yes, many.
Ura Nage (like a suplex), Ushiro Goshi (just lift and let it fall driving), Utsuri Goshi (turning version of the Ushiro, its harder to do)

sukui nage and you can strangle during stand up.

Ura nage is sacrifice.

Maybe try a Sukui Nage, or tani otoshi... those will generally not be done when 110% directly behind your opponent... but they may work for you.
