  • Dude, you are awesome! You had me there...then you cracked me up!

  • really can move the car with that little motor??

  • i always wanted to see that kind of video

  • HAHAHA my neck hurts from laughing!! PLEASE go down the road like that PLEASE!!!

  • LOLZ CANT STOP LAUGHING MAN!!! i'd love to put one on my vw beetle! ^_^

  • HAHHAHAHAH HOLY FUCK IT WORKS THATS AMAZING

  • Some times alternative energy people get too serious. Thanks for the laugh.

I tried to build an electric bike with one of those kits sold on line, but the magnets for the motor were held on with glue. The glue let go, and the motor self destructed. I asked other manufacturers about that, and found that ALL of them are made this way. I guess I won't be doing this until the quality gets a lot better.

  • lol =)) He hit something

  • That's awesome I love the Positive Cynicism! What is the gear ratio your using to move this car?

  • Great vid! Now just modify the button and forward reverse switches so you can do that from inside and you're selling EVs!

  • hey dude, do me a favor, put a 2kw generator head with a set of planetary gears, and run it to your battery. Kind of like an altenator.

  • '

wow that is wonderful and new idea for a cordless drill in the real car

  • 1:04 problems with depth perception

  • that truely is amazing! and i kno its true because i have a Chevy metro thats a sedan. and i can very easily push it and pull it and stop it going down hill all while turning the steering wheel haha. if you cut a hole under the drivers seat so that you can push it by feet like fred flinstone it would work!

  • why don't you try a corded drill, powered by a car battery and an inverter, thats going to have a lot more torque, you'll get better results

  • LOL

  • Niiiice. Sweet video dude but I have a question. I'm planing to convert my ford escape to full electric but there's no EV conversion community in NYC, what do you recommend?? weights about 4000 LBS with engine. don't know how much it weight without it. Cant afford lithium for now. If you were me what would you do?? im tired of gas

  • I just finished making building my drill car

  • wow...this is my first seeing, now I am gonna start to implemented...thanks

  • wow i did not know that a simple drill can move a 1ton car

  • You are a jerk to make fun of something that important.

  • nice vid . what a great idea !

  • I'm gonna try this! F**k Yea! LOL

  • who the fuck has disliked this??? :D:D LOOL :D it's nice idea :D

  • @OnnomonnomonnO The oil people hates this, that's who the 55 dislikes are.

  • @Blackwater200 yeah.. you absolutely got it ;)

  • If you had hair you would be more convincing.

  • @myjizzureye.......your just jealous because he has more hair than you

  • jajajajaja, nice car

  • Next time grab a Velineon 3500 brusheless motor system (From RC cars) .... and instead of a car, use a motorbike frame :]

  • no respect !

  • SUCH TORQUE FROM THAT BABY ELECTRIC MOTOR。。GREAT ACHIEVEMENT FROM KC7EKK

  • lol

  • Why not attach the black & decker drill in the engine room and take it for a spin and i have question about eletric engines: can you inprove the preformance of eletric engines with sort of a re-adapt blower or re-design the entire engine so it can gain some more speed/hp´s or is it a returningspot?

  • @TheRealFobican besides the motor mechanically flying apart, you are basically limited by overheating. Otherwise you can just increase the voltage and it'll do more. You can rewind the motor but that usually only offers torque in exchange for speed and vice versa

  • @seljer That sounds bit sad about the options to increase something with the preformance. But still i think i might have a good idea about an engine that relies on eletric: How about build something based on a trashcan´s shape or some similar drum and make/find some big gears. Then weld angeled metal pieces and borrow the spark plugsfrom the old engine (or just buy yourself some new ones) and attach them onto the base or the "block" and some fine tunings. Good hint?

  • @TheRealFobican electrical motors are usually well designed to start with. Large motors have efficiencies of over 95% (eg: +4000hp induction motors on trains and industrial applications and such) and with good engineering so do the ones you'd use in an electrical car (nowadays permanent magnet motors that have a better power to weight ratio are a popular choice). The only problem with electrical vehicles is basically batteries.

  • You can really DRILL the Oil Companies with that!!

  • what happens if you take 1 drill for each wheel

  • what if you take 1 drill for each wheel

  • funny thanks

  • nuts

  • Congrat. Wonderfull first step.!!! Loved to see your video!!!!

  • Can you buy this car in Australia - if so, it may be re-badged - any idea what it may be?

  • LOL I think that goes faster than my ford ranger pick up =D

  • Dude i had to stop this video when i saw the drill. are you serious. take the batery out of the drill and the a rotor and sprocket to the inside of your car and attach a gear and chain to the inside portion. your funny. and u need to put a solar panel on top for battery life regeneration. hook the solar panel up in paralell with the battery...

  • Dude i had to stop this video when i saw the drill. are you serious. take the batery out of the drill and the a rotor and sprocket to the inside of your car and attach a gear and chain to the inside portion. your funny.

  • LMAO too funny.

  • this is fun!

  • That's just crazy how it actually works! LOL ... shows you how easy it is to make an electric car. I have an electric bike and it's amazing how the hub motor can propel a human for about an hour on a 24 volt battery.

  • wow awesome

  • ha ha

  • LMAO, is that a black decker cordless screwdriver, man thats something you dont see everyday, good work buddy, i am impressed.

  • OMFG STRAIT EPIC SAUCE!

  • OMFG STRAIT EPIC SAUSE!

  • Dude, you're awesome.

  • すっごいアイデア。

    電動ドリルで動かすなんて・・・。

    俺も同じドリル持ってるから試してみようかな?

  • OMG drop dead funny. LOL LOL!!

  • That is funny!

  • dude you just made a black and d commercial. send it to them. lol .. and I should get a % jk but anyone could see if a drill could move it you don't need that big of a elec motor. looking forward to the finished product.

  • Waw that's funny xD it works well !

  • Is it Lovelace or Loveless?

  • lol!!!

  • Impress me convert the car for real.

  • Haha awesome!!!

  • @aussiezombie and you get beat up as an adult? Yes, I know you do. bar fight lately?

  • hahaha, pretty funny!

  • i like that. gud work

  • That is too funny! I was amazed to see such a small motor move the car! Great job!

  • best yet! Run a Cable to where the drill was. Kinda like a .Spedometer cable. Then mount it inside.. Show us driving AND steering at 4mph..lol

  • ok....funny

  • The wise man has no fixed principle; he adapts his mind to his environment.

  • just hook up a steering wheel under the hud and doneright hehe, or maby a seat under the hood too

  • I can see a Darwin Award in the future for this guy.

  • Comment removed

  • It's nice to have a sense of humor. Hey, try putting it on that baby stroller. That'd be a lot less weight to move. You could scoot along between cars.

  • hey strong drill..? hahahahah that tiny thing moved the car hahahahahaahahahahhah

  • lol ahahaha

  • thats a fail, electricity is made from gas companies, you got no competition

use magnets to create free infinite energy to power the car electrically, that'll be competition

  • Wow that drill moved that car.

  • waw :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD good:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • You know something your right on the money! Check out my videos bdrman2004 right here on you tube. and you'll see what i mean.

  • por que no pruebas con el motor de una pulidora de 5000watt??, voy a intentarlo con una motocicleta a ver que sucede

  • LOL LOL Nut

  • dude your damn hilarious man..... nice

  • I need to find a huge Cordless drill with 120volts, 10KW then I'll be all set to do the conversion.

  • haha

  • that's hilarious

  • How much did you spend on research and development? Amazing... Here's an idea, if you plugged the drill to a battery powered battery charger you may never have to plug the car in!

  • that means ; 2000 W 12V-120V DC-AC converter and 1200W high speed rpm drill is enough for 30 mph.....Yes,I'm sure !...

  • That's probably true for flat ground.

  • hi guy !....

    you are great !..

I watched in wonder, you're doing experiments and is a force too large for a small drill...Super !..

    WOW !......okay than ;

How many need drills for 30 mph ?..

  • Very funny, well done, thought provoking too!

  • That's cool, but what gear is the transmission in?

  • How much pot did you smoke before messing up the clutch in the drill?lol That was a funny ass video. Keep them coming.

  • surprising how little power it takes to meve a car. funny video

  • i want one

  • dude,u got the nail, how the hell uer bold head came up with this can power uer light car?

  • LOL I'm just amazed it actually "works"!

  • @nightmathzombieethan omg you should see the dewalt version, it flys!!!

  • LOL u sed it ,nice.

  • LOL nice.

  • Basic, and ingenius. Great demonstration.

  • Genius!

  • Dude you are Awesome, GM needs to hire you, I am not joking!!!!

  • awesome

  • i know how to make throttle tou need pulleys and wire cable

  • So... I'm guessing your next step is to put a hose clamp around the drill trigger, weld a socket to a long flexible cable, run it into the cab of the car, put the other end of the cable into a cordless screwdriver, so you can then tighten/loosen the clamp, thereby controling the speed from the driver seat, you would need some kind of solenoid to shift the righty tighty-lefty loosey button on the drill... but it should work....

    Peace

    Gill

  • I've just spent about 10 minutes creased up with laughter at the "righty tighty-lefty loosey" comment. What a brilliant way to remember thread directions, I'll have to pass that one on at the young engineers club I volunteer at.

  • I first heard that phrase from woman mechanic in 1984.

  • Glad you liked it.

  • @pyrogaz you've never heard that wow it's so old

  • HA HA HA HA HA. Funny video.

I knew it was a joke when you said you converted a GEO Metro because they get better mileage in the city than a Prius and the Metro seems to be indistructable.

You did make a great scientific point in that how little energy is needed to move a car if you have the right gearing.

  • Actually a Geo Metro is one of the most popular cars to convert to electric due to their light weight uni-body construction. This is also why they get great gas mileage.

  • @squizzoo - actually direct drives (no gearing) are most efficient.

  • Bwahahahaha!

    Brilliant!

  • Cool I want one!

  • Genius!!

  • You sir, are a genius, I've seen the drill powered bike but never dared to imagine a drill powered car! well done!

  • Put a second drill on the steering shaft and you're set!!!!

  • LOL I love it!

  • Alsolutely brilliant i L.M.A.O. that gets 5 stars from me, Now i know what to do with my high mileage diesel van. thank you.

    Regards from London Derek

  • Hahahahaha!!! Best show ever. [laughing to tears]

  • yeaaa great!!! i want my opel calibra go with electric motor

  • Dam, that thing has more speed and power than the Volt concept did when it first came out...haha Have you done any range tests with that setup?

  • Better buy a Makita 3.0AH with 30Nm,so you can do 30mph i.s.o. 5mph. :D

  • Good news you will get new Nanotech battery A123 systems more powerful than Lithium-ion Powered ! The Nanotech battery quick charged in 5 mins get full , you will get about 450 miles range

  • Very funny

  • Nice, you know this video was a good break in between all the other super serious videos, good job.

  • you need a clip-on microphone

  • looks funy ;) but good adye :)

  • It really would be "neat-o" too see how fast you could get this thing going with a drill.

Do you plan on dropping an electric motor in, anytime soon?

  • haha. funny. But it proves a point. smaller geared up motors would do the job and save on power. I wondered how much power was needed to actualy move the car through the Normal Gearbox. not much by the looks of it. I wonder if a washing machine motor would work.? hell they have some right speed in them,

  • brovo your on to something there but the govermint and gas companys will have you lock up for being crazy

  • But how do you steer from under the hood!?

    LOL Great concept

  • Just a few more cosmetic touches and you're ready for mass production. May have to use an Impact Wrench for the SUV model though.

  • Hah ! Impact wrench. thats funny. Might be a bit too loud or will it actually repace the so called quietness that electric have? Brrrrrrrrraaaahhhh!!!

  • LOL, not a bad concept...

  • Drill baby drill! Oh wait...

I don't think this is what the "Who killed the electric car" movie had envision for the future : (

  • You felicito this example of the atornillador this very well, want to know that type of engine go to install in the vehiculo and as you go it to do. Perdon By my groins. Graces

  • Um, I speak spanish and what you said STILL doesn't make sense.. Especially "groins".. you DO know what that word means, doncha?

  • no no!! we must extract poison from the ground and then burn it to release carbon!!!! there is only one way to move a car!! and it must be dirty!

  • Originally I was going to convert my car to run on Styrofoam and Bald eagles but it did not seem like a very practical or ethical choice of fuel.

  • He simply flips the switch on the drill, which spins the transmissions the oposite way. Plus the car won't go much faster than that. Not only this, the drill would get hot pretty fast with that kind of load. All in All, its a pretty funny joke.

  • I dont see how that drill has the power to move that car even in 1st or reverse

  • Youtube can put Freds videos in the spotlight but there is no way they can put something like this.lmao Which pwns all the dumb videos Youtube continues to put up on its main page.

  • Good job.

    LOL. You surprised me!

  • my quess black deckers drill battery is dead allready . perhaps chinas black and decker company will buy video for advertisement ...lonnie lol

  • LOL i thought this was serious til i saw the fuckin drill under there. N IT MOVES!!! that was just as shocking

  • Truly awesome !!!!

actually Seriously it's a great illustration of the potential

  • Lmao, great job. I hope you can ride the car, other than on the hood.

  • whats wrong with on the hood

  • Well unless you got an umbrella lol.

  • ..soft top

  • I guess He use a 36V crazy electric dewalt dril on the shaft of the clutch right??

  • you dont know what your talking about do you

  • Oh so Awesome!

  • haha made i laugh

  • hahahahahahahaha

  • Thats cool...

  • Haha! Good one!

  • FUNNY GOOD JOB!

  • That's some funny shit!

  • hilarious. great job man. loved it

  • *SNERK!* Hilarious!

Somewhat more seriously, if the accelerator pedal could be bodged to work the trigger, and a frame or struts added to hold the drill handle to the transmission housing, that would be a very clever way of moving the car around. You'd have to use the handbrake to stop the car, but this would best be used in the workshop: very short distances, very low speeds.

  • omg!!! xD very nice and coool:P

  • That was funny! Thanks for the chuckle. (Now why didn't I think of that...)

  • Yes, wonderfull, but a engine room operator with a cel phone will be requiired; and that will add to the cost of operation, unless a passenger can be used.

  • For more awesome drill power watch:

    watch?v=q5LrarVz94g

    watch?v=DrTrcxOWwIg

    from Milwaukee V28 power tools.

But seriously this has been done by DPX Systems

    watch?v=gDvaXkDb1X4

    on a smaller scale.

  • John, that is awesome! I have to show my parents.
