This great lady was hip before anyone knew what the word meant. A friend saw her in her last NY show in the 80's and said she had the place cheering and applauding after every song. Pure raw talent.
I am a woman of a certain age, but I never heard of Frances Faye until last night when I saw the docu Chop Suey on the Sundance Channel. Where was this fabulous woman my entire life! Thank you for posting. What a treat!

Frances was unqiue and at a time when it was unheard of she sang songs
