  • ZEE CAPTAIN IS SAFE ANYWHERE!

  • Pericles and Cymbeline are some of Shakespeare's worst plays. I don't even think he wrote Cymbeline, it comes off too much as an imitation or parody of Shakespeare.

  • I know it's meant to be a comedy sketch but if this were turned into something serious they could really make something out of it, it's designed really well.

  • When they have to stay inside... How get the guest in the show?

  • @SnoopysOtherBird an underground sector built by BBC, they all have their facilities there, including these to have the show

  • This will be reality soon due to the London riots.

  • If Mitchell and Webb ever run out of ideas, I'd watch this as a spin-off show FOREVER AND EVER.

  • Watching this feels different after seeing Threads.

  • I kinda want to know exactly what the event was now.

    Zombies?

    Nuclear Holocaust?

    Virus outbreak?

    Robot Uprising?

DAMN YOU MITCHELL AND WEBB FOR LEAVING ME HANGING!

  • @ZKY2 DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE EVENT! IT WILL CAUSE DISTRESS! THE EVENT IS IN THE PAST! Also, remain indoors unless They get in.

  • I feel that the set should be a hidden easter egg in Fall Out

  • David looks inexplicably handsome in this

  • The wood was a nice reference on the miner's strike from the 80s in my opinion, by the way. Double-funny :D

  • I bet NBC could make a decent TV show based on this whole premise. It might work as a sequel, maybe about what happened before The Event.

  • @zionravescene ...i see what you did there.

  • @Raedan23 I really can't watch these sketches anymore without thinking of NBC's The Event... ROFL

  • Im reminded of something David Mitchell said about not wanting to survive the apocalypse because it would be a while before panel shows were invented again and he'd be out of work in a post-apocalyptic world. Guess he was wrong.

  • I would've thought BBC programming would've changed after some sort of apocalypse.

  • @tomharding The new series was mostly some very dark comedy. Not to everyone's taste.

  • Does remind me of BBC quiz shows funnily enough

  • why has not any one uploaded the second to last quiz broadcast? (the one with "THEM" and the invasion of "THEM")

  • Yes :D

  • yes

  • There is no Fallout in Britain, because during the war, Britain ascended into the heavens

  • @TheCaptainalist because of all the wind turbines

  • The Cylons computed their chances of overthrowing their human creators, and decided that we were Numberwang.

  • This is a fantastic sketch, but I always thought the supporting actors in TM&WL were rubbish.

  • @TheAnxiousMan I don't usually think they're bad, though this case would be an exception.

  • This is so deliciously dark. I love it.

  • omg the ending of this, I couldn't stop laughing

  • REMAIN INDOORS!!!!!

  • Fallout 3 can suck it!

  • I love the reproduction of the 1970s broadcast "look" with its fringing and eye straining contrast.

  • tesco caused the event

  • electrocured hahaha

  • I so want to know what the event was. xD

  • first round... THINGS!

  • Actually, I'd say this is potentially brilliant. Seemingly the writers watched 'Threads' or 'The War Game': both UK nuke-dramas that tried to take a less Hollywood style approach to the psychological & physical impact of WW3 than 'The Day After'.

e.g. the interference on the video is akin to the VHS of a children's reading prog shown to the emotionally & physically stunted post-war generation in Threads.

  • That's right, it's FUEL!

  • REMAIN INDOORS

  • By night... we all get them.

  • Because comments aren't rated -5 to +5. The number represents the amount of people who've given his comment a thumbs down or a thumbs up.

  • Look through options in text comments, you can customize it to show all the comments.

  • did you seriously not know there was a little options button? and you've really never seen a comment who's rating was more than 6 or less than -6?

  • good query

  • this is what Fallout would be like if it was made by the English XD

by the way,i'm not having a dig,i am English too and this is awesome.

  • It was obvious to me as soon as I saw this episode that it was a Fallout style regime we had on hand for viewing pleasure.

There are many novels, movies and games about post-apocolyptia, but Fallout seems to be an archetype as it twists fantasy with realism. A very British TV show such as this would go down a treat on Fallout 4.

  • @TeamFortressHeavy

Don't worry about being labeled British, we all are and you are right

  • @TeamFortressHeavy Have a look at "The Bed Sitting Room", that's Fallout the UK edition more or less

  • @TeamFortressHeavy that is exactly what I thought, it reminded me so much of Fallout, but with a slightly British twist.

  • @TeamFortressHeavy hahaha, oh so true XD

  • @TeamFortressHeavy frankly, I would've played through Fallout 3 had it have been made by the English, because it would have been SO much better!

  • @TeamFortressHeavy Do you have any idea how much I would kill for a Fallout game in a post-apocalyptic Britain? It would be AWESOME.

  • @psychoslayer1993 Have you not heard of Resistance: Fall of Man?

  • @TeamFortressHeavy thats the great thing about us british we dont mind accepting that ultimatley were all a bit rubbish

  • @gammyfootify Not to mention sad gits :L

  • @shikamaruisfit more or less, yes :)

  • Omg Unknown Male 282 was the best!!!

Hello, Good Evening and Remain Indoors! xD

  • The joke is: Eric Morecambe and Hester Blumenthal both have enormous glasses and are easily confused. I'm surprised they got away with the joke that that the "Event" had something to do with "Boeing Boeing", ie: big airplanes and thervy with extension crashing................................

And before you trash me senseless, I love Mitchell and Webb, I'm just trying to explain xx

  • I know Boeing Boeing is an actual play but it is farce comedy, doesn't involve the apocalypse and not by Shakespeare.

  • yes but they have lost almost all the information and are very confused

  • You're an idiot.

  • My favourite series of sketches from the new series. I hope they all get uploaded!

  • Heston's a tv chef

  • For us ignorant Americans, can some kind British person tell us who Heston Blumenthal is, and what was the joke there?

  • It's Eric Morecambe.

  • Heston Blumenthal is a real person...He's an Ebglish T.V chef.....

  • Beg pardon, I'd never heard of him!

  • Lol don't worry

  • Heston Blumental is a contemporary (but obviously obscure) TV chef, but the man in the picture is Eric Morecame, a 1970s comedian. The joke (as with the Shakespere gag) is that their general knoledge is so scrambled they can't tell one from the other.

  • Heston Blumenthal is a celebrity chef, and the picture was of 1970's British TV legend Eric Morecambe

  • He's a twat who cooks food.

  • Interesting. How would you describe yourself?

  • I'm quite impressed with how well they've managed to recreate the "halo" sharpening effect of an Image Orthicon-based camera.

  • REMAIN IN DOOR PLEASE REMAIN IN DOORS

  • I didn't fully understand the whole post event setting... until I heard him say "2013" then it was completely clear xD

  • my favourite sketch!

  • POSH JAWS!

  • So I said "this sketch is like a Spike Milligan sketch" (bleak and black) - when quite clearly David Mitchell has stated that he likes Spike Milligan (Peep Show extras and people don't agree with that...

  • It's very Milligan, isn't it? Reminiscent of his teleplay, The Bed Sitting Room, which featured people getting on with their mundane lives after nuclear devastation. Love the Milliganish, Pythonesque Mitchell and Webb.

  • "Oh dear,oh dear some horrible memory from The Event no doubt..."

    "We all get them"

"Indeed by night we all get them.."

  • i was in tears at the end of this.

    'That's Right! IT'S FUEL!'

  • i love the one with he brain surgeon

  • I frickin laughed my head off

  • This is Spike Milligna xx The audience are laughing out of nervousness

  • lol i wonder what the event was? I wouldnt be suprised if it was the numberwang robot causing worldwide destruction... especially after it got loose... i see they no longer have numberwang on it... just a thought.

  • i think it is sort of like the aftermath of like a nuclear explosion or something. If you watch some of the 70s/80s safety broadcasts, you may sort of understand the format of this

  • yeh that sounds much more likely, but wouldnt it be awesome if it did have something to do with the numberwang robot escaping...

  • Skynet became self-aware and declared Planet Earth was Numberwang.

  • @zionravescene Sooooo ... Skynet = Collosson?

  • Thats not a laugh track, its filmed in front of a studio audience

  • and robert w

  • gotta love michael & webb

  • lol 'michael'.

  • One of my favourite sketches from these

is the one where robert webb is trying to get the horse to speak french LOL

  • Yey! The return of the best ever sketch show!

  • Why isn't this funny?

  • i agree, i don't think it is

  • well it's much better than numberwang, which lost its humour after the first episode.

  • great dystopian comedy

  • :D SO excited about the new series!

  • Cool there's a new series!?

  • Yes,this thursday at 10pm on BBC2 and then 9.30pm thereafter!

  • thank god

  • i believe this series is going to be better than the last 1, form the clips i see it seems pretty damn good
