  • MEGA-CHAN?!

I think I may like this computer. XD

  • I own a few of the dvds in the Japanese dub but not this one. Honestly, the Japanese dub is a lot better.

  • man this was a cool gritty, dark show, now....well LOOK AT IT!!! my child hood memories up in smoke...

  • hahahaha, mega-chan

  • Stupid sexy computer voice....

  • wow even the computers had sexy voices that shows that everything can change when you cross the pond

  • Anywhere I can find this subbed?

  • The Canadian and American Beast Wars was EPIC!! Let's hope the Japanese ones can live up to it.

  • I'm not sure how to explain this but the japanese dub is a gag dub and is completely different from what it is here. For exmaple :

1.Rattrap is now the kid not Cheetor and often breaks the 4th wall

2.Megatron is a madman and Blackaracnia is a coward

and 3. Airrazor is a guy

    Those are just some examples.....

  • Pfft. With all the times she hands the other bots their bumpers? I can't believe it.

  • Blackaracnia? yeah in the dub shes a coward, and a shrieking Bi-Polar freak too.when she fights they make her go into shriek mode and every other time shes a coward. The dub is weird,Tigatron was a samurai, Airazor was his (male) ward,Rattrap would smell the audience, Megatron would shriek like a little girl, Depth Charge would sing and Optimus Prime once asked "Where's my banana?"

  • Any idea what Dinobot got changed into?

  • A whiny Japanese punk, who ends his sentences with 'DA!'

He joins the Predacons in one episode because...he wasn't accepted into Morning Musume. Yeah.

  • Well, what can I honestly say to that...

  • It doesn't. It's made into a wacky comedy.

  • Since I have a lot of interest in Asian Culture and Beast Wars was my Favorite Show, this is quite an interesting find. Yeah some parts of this version may not match the Original English version and some aspects of the original I do prefer, however I have a lot of respect for this version as a lot of the dubbing was quite well done. I say respect other cultures and the Japanese. I say its is good that Japanese people had the chance to experience this wonderful show in their own language! ^_^

  • And yet there are alot of people who still say all dubbing suck and that they should stay in their own language. Other than that I agree with you on every thing you said.

  • When Williams Street pulls stunts like this with Hana Barbara, people think it's hilarious.

Because it is. The cultural barrier is what's so off-putting, Japanese humour being a proverbial sea urchin of aquired tastes for those not of the region.

  • how about subtitleing the beastwars in english? Because I do know there is aenglish dub version.

  • eh-ner-gone?

  • eh-ner-jon.

Japanese fail so fucking hard at pronouncing "g" like a "j" so they always pronounce stuff weird. Giant, for instance, would be "gih-gan-to" rather than the correct form, "jih-ant" The reason it has a third syllable is because they find it REALLY hard to not end a word with a vowel or "n"

  • @bast963

Both are came from German pronunciation/word. Gigant and Energie.

  • @Subhumanism

Because American English has loan words from like 10 languages.

Chiropractor and chiropodist: The "chi" can't even make up it's damn mind, and these are both the English words for those type of medical specialists.

  • @bast963

what I was trying to say is those words are not imported from English to Japanese in the first place.

Same thing happens to Portuguese word. Every time someone says "bread" in American film, it will be automatically translated into "pan" no matter what.

  • @Subhumanism

    French: pain

    Spanish: pan

    Portuguese: pão

    Japanese: pan

    Italian: pane

Makes me wonder why "bread" doesn't start with a "p"

and yeah I get what you meant. I posted that like 18 months ago.

  • Ha, oh man, this is like payback for 4Kids.

It just shows, not only Americans can brutally rape shows. :-!

  • There wasn't much to rape.

Megatron had a friggin RUBBER DUCK for cripes sake. All they did was move the center more towards comedy than the other versions.

  • Wow, you've never seen the full show, have you?

  • I have.

Infact, I friggin grew up with Beast Wars.

The plot only really got serious near the end of the series.

Trust me, there were moments that probably weren't even meant to be funny that made me laugh.

  • There's nothing wrong with a little humor diced into serious things. Most of it was the animators anyway. But this is just complete butchery. Things like Depthcharge humming folk tunes while transforming. That just completely takes you out of the show.

  • Not really.

You have to remember this is a different region.

What seems like a mood killer to you is a mood SETTER for others.

  • It's like when anime with a serious story is brought over here and is aimed at the wrong age group and they insert stupid jokes.

  • Except this was made for kids aswell, when death in kids shows wasn't as big a deal.

  • what did the the star wars thing say in english

  • this anime is often regarded as a kind of "gyagu anime"(ギャグアニメ) in japan because the voice actors always make jokes which the orignal version doesn't have and they are so funny.

  • sure the dubbing is a little weird, but so are english dubs for anime. This version is cool, not as good as the english but they made an effort.

  • The computer calls Megatron MegaChan ^_^

  • I've got nothing against the japanese but... wha??? I think I just died.

  • This song is crazy

  • What... The... Hell?! XDDD

Disco Rap Intro, Star Wars scrollovers... And the Pred Computer.

Excuse me as I die laughing. Man, Ya gotta love Japan XDDDDD

  • Fuck yeah, I agree.

  • C'mon, It's not really that bad...is it? I mean granted they've screwed up the opening, but least they've spared the rest of the original music.

  • What was with the star wars intro.

  • Rattrap sounds like Inuyasha's Japanese voice actor.

  • Japanese usually makes better animation series than US but when it comes to transformers, it's totally the OTHER WAY AROUND. And the translation is ALSO awful and sounds childish.

  • Congradulations. You just discovered why the general fanbase hates the Japanese dub of Beast Wars.

  • This is highly relevant to my interests. XD

    Where can I get more?

  • Say... Banana Ice speaking in the beginning of the introduction??

  • The Predacons' computer has a really high girly voice? AND calls Megatron "Megachan"?

    I love the Japanese. XD

  • And in the original the voice was so damn serious and robotic and this one is so damn spunky, this dub is odd

  • Can't understand a lick of it, but thanks for loading it, worth hearing these guys in another language
