When approaching his "objects", he doesn't approach them in the fashion of a reporter who upholds a professional critical distance, he instead approaches them in the manner of a friendly and open minded private person. Which he is not.
His selection and presentation of issues/objects is already one which the viewer is supposed to oppose and reject and not to be open minded about.
I think the interviewer should learn to speak English (not pronounciation, but context) properly. He's struggling to find the words, what questions he want to ask.

I don't rate this interviewer much. Louis's nerdy/geeky/shyness is mostly - but not entirely - an act, the interviewer doesn't seem to understand this. Louis pointed this out early in the interview - "I turn it up a notch" - but the interviewer keeps asking the same question.

louis theroux is one of the coolest guy that walks the earth today...may sound over the top but I can't think of many people simply as cool as him...top guy!

I'm a huge fan of Theroux's investigative style, but I have to disagree - I think the interviewer did post some excellent questions. The last question, especially, was very good. That hits at the crux of the issue at the heart of Theroux's style and you could see that Louis was struggling with it. He admitted to manipulation, which is something I always think Theroux's is trying NOT to admit doing.
@perdition07 With his British reserve and old world demeanor it is always a treat to see him amidst the madness and excess of his subjects. We tend to see ourselves in his controlled reactions. He is the nerd in all of us. You should see him threatened by a South African Gamer who pushed down his camera and who in exasperation lashed at him. Louis just stood there visibly troubled and with so much poise apologised to his subject.
