well the US army has vehicles like this they are called stryker and has 8 wheels the hummer is used for light transport and can go 80 mph i don;t think these can go that fast and handle very well. for its size the hummer H1 i one of the best off road capable vehicles
lookup oshkosh, nothing they couldnt make. Hummers are useless, if they had a live axle with coil springs and diff locks, you would be suprised. My mates H1 wont go where I take my Nissan Patrol.
Pretty much where you'd use a Mercedes Unimog (and in fact some of these are modified Unimogs): a pickup tracks with extreme off-road + traction capabilities.
Everywhere where there is no road. It has not only great offroad capabilities, but the backbone frame allows Tatra to carry much heavier stuff offroad without destroing the chassis. Oil drilling, timber cutting, construction of roads, just everywhere other trucks get stuck.
SUPER video fakt moc dobrí hlavne ten jak vokuli tu modrou tatru a pak vileze a roztahne ruce a ten zaber do obliceje fakt pekní zaberi hudba také dobrá .
i wish america would build awesome trucks like these

@wordreet truck trials is awesoem. diesel power is life. bio diesel is what i am a supporter of. i wholly support home production of diesel.

moparmike1 2 years ago
Well those 8x8 are normal Tatra trucks, they just add roll-over cage, also putting in turbo is helpful, but other than that, it is almost original.
cimmerianpraetor 2 years ago
the closest theing the army has to these are the HEMTT i know, i work on them ;)

the us army could use some of them. they only got crappy hummers which are entirly incapable for offroad performance.

Oshkosh has normal chassis, the offroad capabilities are nothing compared to backbone tube by Tatra. Google how it works.
cimmerianpraetor 2 years ago
@cimmerianpraetor true, tatra are the way to go. But no differential, so I wonder about highway use.
trahcceb 2 years ago
Of course it has differentials! It would be totally useless if it hadn't!.

@cimmerianpraetor some of these trucks though.. need locked diffs badly .

From what I understand, some isolated Russian towns have no remotly decent roads going there. That's why these trucks are common in Russia.

@thecouchtripper yes but you dont want a big enough fan base for all the ridiculous rules to come in place like the way F1 has turned out.
