Im a airbus kinda guy. But dos not make me a boeing "hater" Really exited to see its first flight. And hope for the best for the dreamliner. Go aviation!
yeah i heard through several sources boeing is shooting for December 22, 2009 for the first flight and they have 3 of the planes modified for the fix, but one of them is a non-flying test strudture, so there are 2 flyable aircraft right now, and others inwork i would imagine
apparently the carbon compisite fittings wernt strong enough for flight, so its good that they delayed it rather than the wings falling off on the first flight!
They are trying to reinvent the wheel here. I wasn't surprised at all that they got delayed. I'm patient, as because if and when they get this thing in the air, they will make a huge breakthrough, and a change in the way we fly. I'm confident though, that this may fly by years end, but am preparing for another delay. I have a good feeling about this time though.
Check every BMI Baby flight in and out of Cardiff and Birmingham Its always delayed. Trust me my dad had to work out in the Czech Republic for 6months with his company and hew flew out evry Monday and back on Friday and his flight was on time 4 times out of the 6months
I think it has a promising future as a 737/777 hybrid, but it is unfortunate that it has taken boeing so long to make it, as it has lost several orders
I hope for the sake of the flying public that boeing heeded vince weldon's concerns about composites......

I bought Boeing shares counting on a good flight.
Making a new plane out of plastic is a hell of a challenge and a promising venture.
Go Boeing, the world awaits....

Why did the wing attachment need to be reinforced? Was there a design flaw?
