The problem is the scientist wasn't addressing or aware of Milloy's skeptical claims. The sham skeptic speaks unopposed. Had a scientist HEARD the Milloy/Fox spin, he'd DESTROY it
8) Notice: the Fox "News" reporter's conclusion ( "further proof" there's a lot we don't know) is the same as the position attributed to the skeptics when their nonsense is first introduced at 2:16 ("that, global warming skeptics say, underscores the imperfect science behind the hype"). Had "both sides" even been given a chance to speak (the scientist seemingly had no clue the spin coming from Milloy), it STILL would've been a "reporter" giving both sides, then concluding that one side is right.

Again, EVERY CO2 source, by Fox "News" logic, "might actually be part of the problem". CO2 jumped from HUMAN activities. The natural carbon sources and sinks WERE in approximate balance before we started digging up carbon, then putting it into the atmosphere (causing a NET change in CO2 there). the problem is the INCREASE in temps from the INCREASE in atmospheric CO2 - from HUMAN BEINGS. 4) This has nothing to do with the recent global warming. The process investigated has always been the case. It's just part of the natural process by which incoming sunlight eventually warms the surface. Are humans significantly changing tree cover in ice/snow areas?
Try comparing the amount of heat expelled in a year by a tree with the amount of heat generated by a car in the same year. Maybe instead of worry about trees Fox should worry about the amount of hot air that they generate and just be quiet.
Even if some tree did produce a small amount of methane and carbon dioxide (and all plants do at night when they don't engage in photosythesis), fox news gleefully omits that they decrease carbon dioxide much more than they produce it, and that cutting them down will release all their carbon and produce even more methane when they decay, or are burned.

Plants create methane. It's argued that methane is a much stronger gas. But the Ocean evaperation creates the greatest amount of greenhouse gas so we would be doing well to coat the ocean with oil to help the earth cool. Does this sound stupid? You betcha it does. But so does AGW.

I'm not too sure what you meant by that. I'm well aware that trees produce methane. Cows also produce it. Oh yeah, so do we. The point is fox news is trying to make it seem like methane constitutes a large part of greenhouse gases, but the main concern is the carbon dioxide with respect to rising temperatures. So while they make a good pint that trees do create methane, they fail to mention that trees and other plants actually soak up carbon dioxide and without them we'd be toast.
racergonemad99, actually I was speaking too many of the comments above. Many take offence to the video, and blame it on bad reporting when many people really don't know what they are talking about. For example:
Water vapor is 95% of all greenhouse gasses
CO2 is 2 1/2 % of all greenhouse gasses
Methane and other trace gasses make up the last 2 ½ %
My question is why everyone worried about CO2 and methane while they only make up 3.3 % of GHGasses? Why not water vapor? STOP OVERWATERING
It takes 4 individual specimens of giardia lamblia to cause giardiasis in a litre of water. While we consume a lot of water on any given day, it is the few protozoa which are pertinant to your health. This is analogous to global warming, where vast amounts of naturally occuring gases are in a state of equalibrium. However it is the emission of CO2, burried for tens of millions of years, no longer within that cycle, which is upsetting the balance and causing drastic changes in earths atmosphere.

there is a natural level of greenhouse effect on all planets in the solar system except mercury because of it proximity to the sun. this level is maintained by the trees and the natural amounts of carbon dioxide in the environment. In modern times however, trees breathe in more carbon dioxide than they reject methane with higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and so destroying trees would make global warming worse. Fox forgot to say that.

8) Notice: the Fox "News" reporter's conclusion ( "further proof" there's a lot we don't know) is the same as the position attributed to the skeptics when their nonsense is first introduced at 2:16 ("that, global warming skeptics say, underscores the imperfect science behind the hype"). Had "both sides" even been given a chance to speak (the scientist seemingly had no clue the spin coming from Milloy), it STILL would've been a "reporter" giving both sides, then concluding that one side is right.

The natural carbon sources and sinks WERE in approximate balance before we started digging up carbon, then putting it into the atmosphere (causing a NET change in CO2 there). the problem is the INCREASE in temps from the INCREASE in atmospheric CO2 - from HUMAN BEINGS. 2) The ending was amusing - this paper is cause for concluding "is just further proof that there's a lot about global climate change that we simply don't know." It's true that there's a lot unknown, but there's a lot know as well - enough to know we're the main cause of the recent climate change.

Even if some tree did produce a small amount of methane and carbon dioxide (and all plants do at night when they don't engage in photosythesis), fox news gleefully omits that they decrease carbon dioxide much more than they produce it, and that cutting them down will release all their carbon and produce even more methane when they decay, or are burned.
That's a fact. Wood is mostly carbon. When it decays, the carbon is released as CO2, and methane.
Fox news is lying and telling half truths.

The remaining 5% is 99.44% co2 with 0.471% methane
3.298% of co2 is anthropogenic excluding water vapor

Meteorologists can't get the day to day weather correct. They are NOT the scientists who we should be listening to. Besides, there are other greenhouse gases which are much worse than CO2. At the height of the America's bison population it was estimated that the numbers EXCEEDED 100 million. Our Cattle industry is estimated to be about 105 million today and that is in USA alone. Plants create methane. It's argued that methane is a much stronger gas. But the Ocean evaperation creates the greatest amount of greenhouse gas so we would be doing well to coat the ocean with oil to help the earth cool. Does this sound stupid? You betcha it does. But so does AGW.

C02 does not only make it easier for plants, it is essential for photosynthesis. H20 is a greenhouse gas, but mankind does not have a substantial effect on the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere. We do however control the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, via industry, automobile, etc, and therein lies the problem. Our increase causes the warming, not how much plants use for photosynthesis

Whilst water vapor is the most prominent GHG and the one that has the biggest effect (contributes 3672% of the greenhouse effect), human activity does not contribute to increasing the amount of water vapor in the air (at least not in significant amounts). The most significant GHG we are producing is CO2, which is why it is the focus "global warming nutts".

I'm not too sure what you meant by that. I'm well aware that trees produce methane. Cows also produce it. Oh yeah, so do we. The point is fox news is trying to make it seem like methane constitutes a large part of greenhouse gases, but the main concern is the carbon dioxide with respect to rising temperatures. So while they make a good pint that trees do create methane, they fail to mention that trees and other plants actually soak up carbon dioxide and without them we'd be toast.

racergonemad99, actually I was speaking too many of the comments above. Many take offence to the video, and blame it on bad reporting when many people really don't know what they are talking about. For example:
Water vapor is 95% of all greenhouse gasses
CO2 is 2 1/2 % of all greenhouse gasses
Methane and other trace gasses make up the last 2 ½ %
My question is why everyone worried about CO2 and methane while they only make up 3.3 % of GHGasses? Why not water vapor? STOP OVERWATERING

It takes 4 individual specimens of giardia lamblia to cause giardiasis in a litre of water. While we consume a lot of water on any given day, it is the few protozoa which are pertinant to your health. This is analogous to global warming, where vast amounts of naturally occuring gases are in a state of equalibrium. However it is the emission of CO2, burried for tens of millions of years, no longer within that cycle, which is upsetting the balance and causing drastic changes in earths atmosphere.

Does everyone here know that Al Gore had everyone scared to death about global cooling at one point? We have not had climate change. Climate refers to the general weather usually averaged out over many years, it has not been getting hotter and hotter, if all this shit is true, why was the 30s the hottest decade? Thats right, the temperature was higher in the 1930s then it is now.

Look up the facts, percentages of CO2 in the atmosphere are increasing, vast amounts of data to support this (100% is not taken in by plants). Currently .033% of the air is made up of CO2. Please look up the facts and get your head out of your arse. CO2 does not equal life, too much of any one thing will kill life (there is a careful balance required).

There is a way to produce ozone, if we were using hydrogen (wich is produce ozone from gaz to energy) instead of oil, we should be able to slow down to process enough to find a solution.
Because if its a warming to lead to an ice age (not the 1st time it happen) we are screwed by the way we deal with the situation

there is a natural level of greenhouse effect on all planets in the solar system except mercury because of it proximity to the sun. this level is maintained by the trees and the natural amounts of carbon dioxide in the environment. In modern times however, trees breathe in more carbon dioxide than they reject methane with higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and so destroying trees would make global warming worse. Fox forgot to say that.
