  • Awesome...Just an amazing person..Humble and down to earth...Hope you live to be a hundred and fifty Paul. We all love you...Thankd for all the music you sent our way...Peace and Love.

  • Only Paul McCartney could make a song sound good with ringing glasses in the background!

  • Like this if after band on the run you clapped by yourself in your house

  • eres grande maestro mccartney

  • The first time I heard him allude to the fact that he was able to get into the Beatles; obviously admitting it was John's band.

Could God have blessed us anymore than by giving us Elvis AND The Beatles in one lifetime??

  • Elvis Presley's 1955 recording of "Trying To Get To You" sounds identical to "In Spite of All The Danger." Just sayin'. Listen to both and decide. In fact, one of the lines in the Presley version: "In spite of all that I've been through." Presley didn't write the song, but I wonder if Paul, John or George might've heard Presley's 1955 recording before writing "In Spite of All The Danger." Makes one wonder...

  • Paul looks like McGyver here... making music out of glasses, water, a track machine and a Harmonium. Genius... what else can I say?

  • How can people say the Stones were better than The Beatles when Paul alone was Better than The Stones!

  • Its AMAZING how nothing is a problem to him... nothing is complicated.... LONG LIVE SIR PAUL...

  • thanks

  • Okay Elvis...

  • No doubt. The greatest all round musician of the XX century. The man did it all.

  • pot helped him quite a bit, in a great, creative way.

  • Paul is an incredible Rock & Roll singer

  • i read that paul was originally right handed but that he couldnt play guitar to well and he flipped the guitar and the strings and he played way better left handed

  • I'd like to know the name of the tape recorder machine used in this movie?

  • @FESTIMBORDEJO

Its a Studer.. pronounced shtooder...2 inch tape 4 track.

Inside they are a feat of engineering

Er 2 inch is like 50mm.

  • Gracias por la Magia Paul! muchas gracias!!

  • Paul is a musical god..what a man, bearing in mind how long ago this was and he is still touring and rocking as I write makes him even more amazing.

  • This is great-what a performer! If another vid is still out here, check out McCartney making mashed potatoes! The humor and wit-well, it's easy to fall in with him. Was that a touch of Elvis in here? Keep goin' Sir Paul, you still got it.

  • Han solo!

  • This is awesome!!

  • whats the name of the song he does , when he talk about the pre-beatles song that they recorded , the first record they ever made

  • @ThomasCKN The name is "In Spite Of All The Danger" and you can hear the original recording on the Anthology Vol. 1

  • @TheBeatlesMagic Thanks very much! Thats great!

  • @ThomasCKN In Spite of all the Danger.

  • @triwsocarina thanks been trying to get that name for ages lol thanks again

  • I love this man so so much. How can you help it?

  • @pauljames00 With a name like Pauljames im guessing your joking right ?

  • That's one hypnotic version of band of the run

  • I never knew what a one man band Paul was. No wonder he's always been the most popular/favorite Beatle for most of the fans.

  • @Xcorgi Paul McCartney a one man band?? I hope You not referring to the Beatles there?? Because that is the most ridiculous comment ever made. I class all the Beatles as equal because there qualities as an individual is what made that band so special. I'd argue until His death that John Lennon was the most famous and loved of the three as much as I value Paul McCartney. But to claim he was a one man band in the Beatles is ludicrous!

  • "There's a solo here, but I won't attempt it."

  • i love the old stories and the earliest songs

  • Paul has always been my favorite celebrity role model. And I'm so thankful that he has always been that for me. I asked my dad who his favorite artist ever is, and he said Paul McCartney. My mom, who my dad was with for 20 years has the same birthday as Paul - June 18 :) Very Beautiful :)

  • A master class! Thank you.

  • What Paul doesn't mention is that "In Spite of All of the Danger" is written by George Harrison and himself. It was the only time that he collaborated on a song with George. That makes it very historic, in that sense. The song is featured on the Beatles Anthology.

  • wow what a weird version of band on the run.

  • haha John would have loved it or George

  • haha, it's kinda hard to refrain from clapping!!

this guy is the most innovative, humorous, original artist alive!

and he's been that way for several decades in a row, that just blows my mind

  • @scartissue94 I totally agree with you! What an amazing artist. (:

  • and also what's the name of the song at 6:20

  • Its called Twenty flight Rock and its by Eddie Cochran

  • It's called "Twenty Flight Rock" by Eddie Cochran

  • what is the name of the song at 2:42 ??

  • in spite of all the danger

  • in spite of all the danger

  • @santseghotmail "In Spite of All the Danger" (which can be found on Beatles Anthology 1) it was the 1st beatles song ever recorded

  • Brillante...estas cosas me hacen llorar.

  • princessshittybottom eat your own bottom. Change your name to whoreshittymouth

  • Thanks Paul for being such a generous person. We hope you come to argentine!

  • PrincessShittyass, still a moron eh ? you don't even know what planet your on, LOL

  • uh, it was the other way around (grin) but okay(lol!)

  • haha john and his beery breath

  • Such a brilliant idea to do this. Can you imagine Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (or any other hugely successful musician) making contact with a small audience in this way? Keep on keeping it real, Paul.

  • about this version of "Band Of The Run" - doesn't is sound a lot like the beginning of his song "This One"???

  • the beginning of this version, i mean...

  • Thanks God for Paul McCartney!! Everything he does is gold, and never gets old, no matter how many times I listen to it.

  • i always love re-listening to this Band on the Run...i just love it!! i really wish he had officially released it...i even really like his more old-sounding vocal...its amazing!

  • i adore in spite of all the danger.. the original recording is great.. i wish paul could sing it a little higher but wow i love that he sang it aha.

  • I'd like a harmonium

  • what does paul means when he said :"thats what got me into the beatles?". lol..it sounds like hes saying he was applying to play with the beatles, instead of Making them :]

  • He did, in a way...

  • Beatles were predated by the Skiffle band "The Quarrymen," which was Lennon with some friends. If I recall correctly, McCartney was the second "beatle" to join, who then convinced Lennon to yet his friend George Harrison to join (Lennon thought he was too young). Around the same time Stuart Sutcliffe joined. Eventually, they changed their name to the Beatles, left Sutcliffe in Germany, replaced their drummer with a guy named Richard Starkey and recorded Love Me Do (with a session drummer)

  • Well... Lennon was the first member of the band but they weren't called The Beatles then. McCartney met Lennon in 1957 and it went from there. Lennon thought he was good so invited him to join his band.

  • Lennon's first band was called The Quarrymen.

  • very special

  • love sir mccartney

  • whats the second song he played?

  • Twenty-Flight Rock by eddie cochrhan

  • Your a fucking idiot lad!!

  • Comment removed

  • (In spite of all the danger)

  • This Paulie brings out your artistic/musical/rhythm/"in tune" more than anyone I've ever met in my entire life.

Thank you for these absolutely beautifully done video's of this Abbey Road-C&C series.

  • thanks! i'm looking for this vido since a long time!:)

  • I watched "The Girl Can't Help It" the other day. And couldn't wait til Eddie Cocharan's Twenty Flight Rock. It was shortened a bit, but still very cool. I forgot to mention to my parents, that's the song that got Paul into their daughters favorite band ever! LOL

  • awesome Paul ¡¡¡¡

was an excellent idea to make this show

  • i love you paulllllllllllllllllllllll

  • steady now.

  • the first beatles song

  • Ever recorded...

  • whats that instrument hes playin on band on the run?

  • its called harmonium. very common in india.

  • More of What You Want totally ripped off that layering technique.

  • i ADORE this band on the run version! his vocal is so great

  • "The song was written by McCartney and Harrison, and is the only song to ever credit the two of them alone. It was recorded in 1958 at Percy Phillips' home studio in Liverpool (see 1958 in music). It cost them 17 shillings and six pence. Along with their cover of Buddy Holly's "That'll Be the Day" recorded at the same session, these songs comprise the second recordings of what would eventually become The Beatles (after a reel-to-reel recording from July 6, 1957).

  • You're right, I'm wrong... I was thinking of another song. And it sounds like a Buddy Holly song - which is no accident.

And "just for the record" it was recorded by the QuarryMen, including John, Paul and George.

  • Yes, it was their first recording.

  • I'm reading this as I'm watching it for the first time. I'm thinking to myself "What is this guy talking about? Band On the Run wasn't written by McCartney and Harrison, and especialy not in 1958!." Then it got to the part with "In Spite of All the Danger." Well of course, I felt like and idiot. You're right by the way. It was their first.

By the way, I went to a concert during the first tour that he played that live.

  • no, you're wrong

  • dude he's right look in the Beatles Anthology 1

  • love his stuff!!

  • nomusician: I do believe Paul can play Band On The Run any way he likes due to the fact that he wrote it. And he does explain beforehand why he's doing it in this way. Just watch the thing.

  • I'm gona attach that blowing thing to my sampler for more analog sound.

  • wow. that was a great sound

  • I Met Paul Last November in London at a signing and he was Just as friendly and talkative off-camera as he was here. Total genius does not really cover Maccas talent- and ok, some of his stuff is a bit twee and lacking a cutting edge , but you have to say he has got the BEST Back catalogue of music on the planet. No one can match McCartney - can they?

  • That is totally cool :-)

  • band on the run is really cool

  • i was there

  • You were? Must have been awesome, did you get to talk to Paul?

  • u werent there

  • the first beatles song

  • the beatles song

  • paul is the greatest.. everyone else who thinks otherwise get off this page, simple as that.

  • exactly. They need to jump in front of a train.

  • Great!

  • Great musician...great songwriter...no sense of style

  • the guy's like a mad scientist. awesome.

  • You're the one Paul. The greatest musician ever live on this planet.

  • thnx for have posted this!

  • This clip is a perfect example of why Paul McCartney will go down in music history as such a great singer/songwriter/musician/performer. The guy plays everything, plays everything well (I studied the McCartney album to learn drums)and, is still a great rock singer. I hope his new material is good....

  • wow i loved that

  • hey if you like Band on the Run thats great....just keep running..................................................

  • primosilvano your comments are about as relevant as belch

  • DAVwave > If you think Pauls work post Beatles is worth a record contract then fine but Silly love songs, Biker like an Icon = Junk and a empty artist

  • I like it and what's wrong with silly love songs? I'd like to know. Eitehr way your comments don't matter. Some of us like his albums and some of us don't BUT this really isn't the place for haters like you now is it? Lol...

  • Hey Jerk .HATERS ? listen I was stating Paul has not really writen anything of quality since the Beatles ..the fact you probably like Mitch Miller as well kind of explains why you like a bad song as Silly Love songs.

  • are you sure? check again.. have you ever heard of "Wings"? you should check it out..

  • BURP. Band on the Run had some good tune for me. oh well. I was 10 years old when I saw the Beatles on TV. So, I grew up with them. I hated Yoko, and the break up. They were too scared to work together. Afraid of the standards I guess.

  • Friday Feb.7 they arrived by Sunday the 9th they were on ED S.show..I was a Beatle fan .Paul sounds nothing like the Beatles It seems he run from his own original sound that we became fans on.

  • He did put out some real stinkers. I was not buying many of the albums.

  • Silly Love songs + Biker Like an Icon + Junk = SO BAD

  • paul is GOD

  • paul is brilliant. he makes basicly a chord on 3 tracks and as soon as he sang it sent shivers through me. brilliant.

  • Awesome. Not only in beatles, but he could have gotten into ANY band after playing that

  • You couldn't write any of this, none of you could, get off your internet high horses. Thanks for posting this show, i didnt think i would ever see it again.

  • Amen to that.

  • Yes but they are not great Beatles songs just weak wings .

  • That still doesn't justify you telling Paul he can't write anymore...when this song was written in the 70's. And Band on The Run is one of his few songs on par with the Beatles material.

  • Listen if you think "silly love songs and Biker like an Icon " are great songs or as good as Beatles then good for you.this thing he is doing here with" band on run"is really BAD.

  • ...did you read the part where I said "And band on the run is one of his FEW songs on par with the Beatles material" ...it was my second sentence.

  • Band on the run is NO great shakes.. just a weak Mccartney song.

  • you're a weak mccartney song.

  • Magic Burn :)

  • Paul its time to pack it in...you can not write anymore .

  • does he still smoke weed every day?

  • lol why?

  • Just curious, I know he's a big weed guy, most great musicians seem to be.

  • well, probly more LSD than anything, but im sure hes quit ahahaha.

  • I love the sound of his guitar! What label is it? Anyone know?

  • it's a Martin Guitar, a very expensive instrument.
