  • Hey guys what is the different in these with regard to the sentence "i'm good" ?

    Estoy bein ~~~> i'm good

    Yo soy beuno~~~~> i'm good

Can someone tell me what is the difference? thank you in advance :)

  • @pharmabaghdad 'Estoy bien' is used when you want to express that you feel good (I'm fine, thanks=Estoy bien, gracias)

'Yo soy bueno' is when you want to say that you are a good person or when you are good at something (sports, studying, singing... for example) (I'm good at playing football= soy bueno jugando al futbol)

  • Fuck, Spanish is complicated! At 8:47 how do you know when you have to take off the "e" from grande and use "gran?" Also since EL is referring to a male shouldn't it be EL es un grande persona? Someone please clarify I am so confused my head hurts.

  • @JungleListSoldier

well, it's never UN persona because in spanish: a person= una persona, whether it's masculine of feminine.

To say: he is a big person, you actually have to say: El es una persona grande, in which grande refers to una persona, so is written with the -de because una persona is feminine.

to say: hi is a great person, you say: El es una gran persona BUT if you want to say: she is a great person, you also have to say: Ella es una gran persona, because gran stands before persona

  • @MinhaMusicarara There are some adjectives that have to stand before the noun and some behind, that's kinda irregular i think :D

  • @MinhaMusicarara Gracias por tu aclarar mi pregunta. Si hay cualquier problemas con mi gramatica por favor dice me. :-)

  • These lessons are not helping you speak Spanish AT ALL

You may as well buy a grammar book and read... but it is guaranteed that you will not get far.

  • cre que hay una correción en el minuto 8:46 mas o menos, en donde dice HE IS A BIG PERSON quiere decir EL ES UNA PERSONA GRANDE( es decir de tamaño grande), si nos queremos referir a EL ES UNA GRAN PERSONA( estupenda persona) pues se diría así: HE IS A GREAT PERSON... - Mis cordiales saludos desde Perú

  • I also have a question, bcuz u said Yo soy bueno, but wasnt it Yo soy bien?

and doesnt Alto also mean Stop and Bajo also means Down? how can u than be able to not confuse anyone if some words have different meaning?

p.s: ur classes r great y me gusta el idioma Español :)

  • @dubworldo that's a little bit French

  • aaaaa , i am confuesed now , should'nt una be for Femal?? i thought uno for male

like bueno =male buena female :S please help

  • @dubworldo Male: Bueno ... Female: Buena

  • @dubworldo mala persona

  • since the adjective grande ends on an "e" instead of o"" like all the others, do we have to say grando, granda, grandos and grandas like with the others or do you just say just grande? :)

  • @xmiirax Only says grande if it is masculine and femenine, without differences, and grandes it they are plural.

  • Too much talking. An adjective is a word that modifies or describes a noun. Just get to it.

  • I'll try to help you.

Yo soy buena estudiante means: I am a GOOD student.

Yo soy estudiante means: I am a student.

The verb "to take" is the verb "tomar" in spanish:

taking your time: tomando tu tiempo

  • thank you man

  • Como se dice "taking" as in "taking your time"?

  • An adjective describes a noun. The word modify means to change.

  • ELLAS or NOSOTRAS if it is a group formed(trained) only by women.

ELLOS or NOSOTROS if it is a group formed(trained) only by men, or for men and women, even if there are 15487964312879 women and only a man.

  • hola espero que aprendais todos hablar español como yo estoy aprendiendo hablar ingles XD creo que aprender español es más dificil.

  • just to clarify, so if i were a female student, it would be " Yo soy una buena estudiante" or " Yo soy buena estudiante" ? when do u put una? because in the previous lesson, 'i am a student' = ' Yo soy estudiante' theres no una in this sentence..

  • don't worry, the word "un or una" is optional... you can say "Yo soy estudiante" or "Yo soy un estudiante"

  • =O oh cool thanks for replying my questions! was really irritated when i was confused =)

  • lo puedes decir como tú quieras

  • @vulgay Yo soy buena estudiante means; I am a student. Yo soy estudiante means; I am student. However neither is wrong, in Spanish.

  • Interesting. I learned that the adjective always precedes the noun. Perhaps there are exceptions to this rule. Hmm.

  • lol to put it shorter an adjective is a discribing word used to discribe a noun

  • but instead, ES UNA PERSONA MUY GRANDE (literally "he is a person very big").

You would never say "soy bueno" either, unless you really fancied yourself!!!

  • Also, "he is a big person" (if you ever wanted to say that) would not be ES UNA GRAN(DE) PERSONA,

  • This guy makes a big mistake by rolling every 'R' - you only do this when there is a double 'R'. This is very important because dog is 'perro', however, but is'pero'

  • WRONG!!!

HOw do you think you say MOUSE in spanish?? Mouse in spanish is RATON... and ir sounds with THE ROLLING "R"... read more.

  • I agree. I also learned that you roll your r's when it appears at the beginning of a word. Have you learned that also?

  • ┃━━ ┃ ━━ ┃ ┏┓

  • if you make alto/a/os/as

than what do you do for an adjective ending in "e" like "grande"???

  • yes, I´d like to know that too

  • words end on "e" is unisex, can be used by either gender.

  • thankyou really enjoying it. people trying to make money out of something like laguages i feel is just exploiting. the way you teach is great

  • your video series is so useful for me!

i m gonna learn spanish with your videos!

    thank you so much!

  • Nice video. Thank you.

  • estos videos son muy bueno. Gracias amigo

  • Wouldn't it be "El es un grande persona?" instead of "una"? I don't understand and need some clarification.

  • I think it's because A PERSON=UNA PERSONA in the Spanish language, it is a feminin word to begin with, so you would have to say UNA PERSONA even if you talk about a man. Right, Max?

  • I'm sure anne241163 is right ;)

    It's the same in russian.

If the noun is feminine, then the adjective is fiminine too, even if the subject is macsuline.

    Eg.

    El = he (masculine)

    Persona = person (feminine)

    una persona

    el es

    el es + una persona

    el es una grande persona

  • 'Yo estoy bien = I am good' INCORRECT

'Yo estoy bien = I am fine' CORRECT

'Yo soy bueno = I am good' CORRECT

  • well done! u explain so nicely! thnks:D

  • In the previous lessons the example was given of "Yo estoy Bien" and "Ella está bien". Why is it "Yo soy bien" now? Is both possible?

  • It's not possible "Yo soy bien", because verb "Estar" is for mood

  • Well technically you can have a good mood..!

  • huh? how does "good" refer to the male or female? srry I don't get the difference..

  • why is it not "ellos estan altos" ?????? and why is it not "ellos estan una grande persona" whats the difference betweel "ellos estan altos" and "ellos son altos"

  • Why it is "gran persona" and no "grando persona" ?

I think, "He" is male singular.

  • persona is always a "female noun" ( that is the idea)

  • I'd like to ask what if "they" were a mixture of female and male...what would you say then?

  • You would use the masculine noun: "ellos."

It's the same for if you use "we" and there is a mixture of men and women: "nosotros."

  • If there is a mixture, in spanish you have to use "Ellos".

    greetings!
