  • Love her! love her accent

  • Brave is going to be so awesome with her voice. Can't wait.

  • she talks about the girl being the heart of the story; some said the same thing about the woman that played in Once Upon a Time in the West.

I guess that makes the movie almost as epic as Once Upon a Time in the West.

  • She has plain jane written all over her. She makes no attempt to look sexy or even pretty at all, even for interviews, but even without all that she still seems very sweet. That's saying something about someone.

  • the interviewer is filipino

  • It's Bobby Trendy!

  • @seenorealistic She is Scottish

  • Why would anyone hire this...man?...as an interviewer? He's the last person for the job, the way I see it.

  • are you freaking kidding me?! I listen to her and she IS MERIDA! :DDDD

  • She has a nice muff

  • This woman is incredible

  • She's played Helena Ravenclaw!

  • An Asian with a Scottish accent.

    That's unique.

  • @noodle0912 Shes not Asian. What the hell you on about.

  • her voice will go perfect to Pixar's 2012 "Brave" as Princess Merida. she has a soft, cute and gentle voice that will fit the character

  • Honestly, I came here because I wanted to learn who Kelly Macdonald was because she will be voicing Pixar's Brave's main character.

But I remember her now, I've seen her in Trainspotting! Man how could I have forgotten her, I loved that movie!

  • @MissMeowMeowMeowMeow same here, and pixar picked the right lady for the female lead (Merida). Love that accent as well, bonus.

  • I came here to listen to her voice so I could get an idea of what Merida's voice would sound like :D

  • @MissMeowMeowMeowMeow thats why im here too!!

  • @MissMeowMeowMeowMeow HA! Me too! :)

  • @MissMeowMeowMeowMeow hahahahaha same story with me! xD did you watched HP 7.2? when Helena Ravenclaw showed up I was like: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW MERIDA!!!!!!!!! and Molly Weasly will be the queen(: and Hagrid will be a Lord or something like that .-.

World why are you so nice with me? HP & Brave? hell yeah *-*

  • The voice for Pixar's Brave - cinemas 2012.

  • Of course I remember Trainspotting, its one of my favorite movies.

  • thank GOD she's doing the voice for Mérida instead of reese witherspoon!

  • @ericmcfadden oh thank god shes not!

  • I love her Scottish accent.. :)

  • funny enough its his love for her that gets him killed in the end...

  • i would marry her in a second

  • I am love with this foking accent!

  • ahhh the scottish accent is so...NICE!

  • FRANCO BEGBIE

  • Cool!

  • call it, FRIENDO! hahaa

  • She was amazing, her ability to use accents is just fantastic O.o

I mean, from scottish to texan like that? Wow.

  • she's definately aged since Trainspotting. She was very young looking in that movie and it was probably her major breakthrough. She looks like a woman now, in Trainspotting she looked like a teenager.

  • @unrealeck yes, because she WAS a teenager at the time.

  • Honestly, why do people post negative things about the interviewers on their videos? I'm sure the interviewers can read the comments.

Don't take it too personally, Manny. Some people are just mean. Keep on being your fab self. ^_^

  • She's just recently got casted as the Grey lady in HPDH part 2!

  • She is so awesome! shes incredible in boardwalk empire.

  • Fantasic actress. Powerfull in preformance and has massive emotional width. I loved her preformace in "Girl in the Cafe". I can say I like her yanky accent.

Powerfull actress, she has me sobbing like a child with the words she spoke at the airport departures in "Girl in the Cafe".............................Im going to watch it again now.

  • Fantastic actress, she has mindblowing range in her emotional acting skills. I never fail to watch her films. Girl in the Cafe in my favourite. She got me sobbing like a child with her airport departure words.

........OK Now I think of it Im going to watch it again.

  • This girl is amazing with accents. She's Scottish, plays a southern accent here, and an Irish accent in "Boardwalk Empire". What a talents actress.

  • WTF SHES SCOTTISH!?!?!?

damn she was amazing, perfect southern accent holy shit

  • is she related to Ronald MacDonald? LMAO

  • @fede018

You've never heard of anyone else named MacDonald? wow..

  • @DesertEagle404 not from where i am from, lol. And yes, it was a lame joke

  • Great interview and great movie and actress!

  • I would marry her in a minute.."that's big talk " she has west texas pure heart down cold..how could you not love her ?

  • you lucky son of a gay. Kelly is my old time crush since the "Trainspotting" I love her. :)

  • Cool video!

  • when she says she is the hearth she means that she is the sweetness- love- compassion in the film in contrast to the the violence, greed and emptiness, being her the hearth makes u get even more shocked of the other kind

  • lol pinoy ftw

  • Kelly sure naield the country kind of accent.

  • @Denise9482 Yeah, she did!

  • i have gay friends, they dont act like that, his voice and behavior is distracting and unprofessional.

  • @dgb751 No, that's just the way he is. That's just the way he talks and acts. Nature, God, whatever simply made him that way. That's all, that's it, don't hate. And he was very professional and nice.

  • She really is nice in No Country. If I was Moss it would be hard to drag myself away from such a beauty at night (but I suppose 2 mill would do the trick!).

  • I've had a mad crush on her for two years

  • i hate to break it to her but her character is definitely NOT the "heart" of no country for old men lol

  • @9balll I don't think she means "heart" in the sense that she has the central role in the film. It's more that she embodies qualities such as goodness, tenderness and innocence in an otherwise grim story. At least that's impression I got, and I agree with that assertion.

  • @evolve749 that's because you're a dumbass.

  • @9balll Wow. You're a clever one. Just a suggestion, if your going to respond to someone's comment, why don't you try addressing the substance of the comment, as opposed to slinging childish insults. Otherwise you come off as a giant douche nozzle.

  • @evolve749 yes i am quite clever thank you for noticing. now a suggestion for you, why don't you try shutting the fuck up? lol

  • @9balll What a predictable response. Well, since you seem to be incapable of any sort of intelligent discourse, you can kindly fuck off. I've wasted quite enough time on you.

  • @evolve749 yes and i you. i bid good day to you.

    lol

  • GAYSIAN

  • kelly mcdonald is so unattractive

  • oh my god...kelly Macdonald is so sweet...whare can I get a girl like this?...

  • and she has great tits!

  • Kelly is one of my favorite actresses on a very short list.

    I hate the interviewer's shirt!

  • @Ciaran646 Yes, that's me...silly :) But, thanks for watching and have a great weekend!

  • @Ciaran646 fuk. he got you ahahahhaa

  • I can't believe she's from Scotland. I would have never have known. Her southern accent is good even if she was American.

  • If it wasn't for Tommy Lee Jones, this movie would suck. Where's the logic in getting an actress from scotland to play a girl with that accent? It's like Richard Gere playing the part of an Irishman in the movie Jackal. Chigour is douchebag and a bad role model.

  • Actually, she's Scotish.

  • she is cute

  • Wow!!!1 I had no idea she was British!!! Hearing her accent here, then listening to it in the movie. I appreciate the entire movie that much more.

  • She's too sweet.

  • i like her better in the movie trainspotting filmed in 1996. her accent is "thick" becasuse she is scottish.

  • she is a good actress

  • It would be cool to insert her part in trainspotting in this movie.

  • It was very dissapointing to not see her naked in the movie. Dang nab it.

  • kelly gave a great performance in this movie.

  • It's a west texas accent

  • I do think British/Scots/Irish women and men can do American accents better than other way round. In general. I was shocked to see her, one of my faves (Girl in the Cafe touched me), in No Country for Old Men. Took me a while, am used to her in essentially British roles. Wish she would do a romantic with Alan Rickman, that might put me over the edge, maybe a tango in the BP station, too? Please? Please?

  • ya know what, if she don't shut her mouth i'm gonna take her in the back and screw her

  • I love Kelly MacDonald. But the comment below about British actresses being good at American accents is wrong. Her accent isn't any kind of American accent I have heard. It is more of a redneck stereotype.

  • I agree.

  • thats who they are suppose to be redneck old school american types and her accent was spot on, your totally wrong

  • fit! her voice has descended from angels.

  • @valeo626 Pretty contradictory, right?

  • No Country is the best movie I've seen -- where everyone loses.

  • Kelly was also really good in the recent Choke movie (with Sam Rockwell).

  • What's that movie about and please tell me in your own words (don't send me a link)

  • kelly macdonald is Scottish and she also appeared in the 1996 drama film Trainspotting.does anyone remember this???

  • Yes. Trainspotting was a great film!! Particularly for heroin addicts.

  • diane

  • @vincentfuckingvega love that film!

  • @vincentfuckingvega She was in Trainspotting? Awesome movie from 1996! That year I was living with my aunt for the whole year and man did that suck!

  • @vincentfuckingvega i do i do

  • @vincentfuckingvega yes I do is a revolucionary movie and she looks quite different

  • I just finished watching "No Country" for the second time & decided to google Kelly MacDonald since I thought she was so good in the film. Although many Americans can fake a Texas accent, I had no idea the girl is Scottish until I read her bio. She also looks very different in this interview than in the movie. She completely transformed herself for the role. That's great acting!

  • she has the sweetest sounding voice one could ever hope to hear....funny to read about all of this debating about whether the Scots are british, well they aren't, thankfully. the Scots ( some of them anyway) have more in common with the french & the spanish, which is where the dark good looks come from..certainly not from the washed out eyes & pale skin & bad teeth of the brits ..LOL ( don't you just hate in when you see LOL at the end of a comment ?? LOL )

  • crazy how she can just lose her accent for the movie... and a good killer guy.."call it friend O"..

  • seriously a lot of these british, scottish etc actors are just so good at flipping on the american accent just like that unfortunately as far as i know there is no american actor as of yet who can do a good british accent

  • @thundertower Speaking as a London gal, I think James Marsters' London accent in Buffy/Angel is marsterful. And Alexis Denisof is also impressive.

  • how could i forget spike lol, yes he is good amazing how he could pull of that kind of british accent which is so thick don't you think it's a little over the top? but it does sound real

  • @thundertower I don't think Spike's OTT. If anything, James gets some of the subtleties down a treat. Perhaps because he had Tony Head coaching him. Oops, almost forgot Juliet Landau and her amazing Drusilla.

  • if you say so, he must be doing it perfectly then. I can imagine robert downey jr nailing a a good british accent and... jennifer beals?, funny though i can picture a lot of celebrities who can't than who can do british accent

...and that character drusilla is so animated like she hasn't adapt to modern society unlike spike, lol last i remember about her is that episode where she left spike with a werewolf and spike was crying all about it blah blah

  • kelly is such a sweetheart, oh and no one could tell that she is scottish, when she was in (no country)great acting, and she is so adorable

  • she looks like she has'ent aged a day since trainspotting

  • i've seen both movies and i just barely made the connection that she's the same one! holy crap, good acting.

  • @Remington61189 I hope her tits r the same...i saw em, u know u did too

  • I don't get why this is hard to understand. If you're from Britain: England, Scotland, and Wales, you're British!

  • So your saying shes English?

  • I'm saying she's both Scottish and British. Scotland is part of Britain. It's like how if someones from California, they're both Californian and American.

  • I know I was joking cuz all the comments seem to say the same thing

  • SHE'S SCOTTISH XX

  • This is one amazing actress. Her name will be up there with the greats before long!

  • shes british, right??? lol

  • I love her accent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • she is scottish you dumb cunt

  • lol, damn chill out. My mistake.

  • thats the equivialent of saying mexican is the same as american.

you wouldn't like that would you?

  • Obviously it wouldn't burn me as bad as you. And your analogy is dumb. It'd be more like calling a Canadian, American. You think Kelly MacDonald even gives a hell what youtube people are saying? Get a life, lol.

  • scottish is british, oh dear.

  • my reply was directed to harmonics deleted comment, claiming she was irish.

  • theboyme82, take your meds, psycho.

    Kelly is so adorable!

  • shut your fucking mouth we're Scottish not British.

  • Let me ask you something. If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?

  • @saraj12 Scotland is part of Britain you idiot.

  • shat up!

  • She's cute.

  • My God, she's so beautiful.

  • Scottish fox.

  • God another bent presenter, will it ever end!

  • apparently not lol :) thx for watching though! Manny

  • @Natureboywhooo God another fucking homophobe. Will it ever end?

  • @parameterish no i aint!

  • pasquali23 she isn't Welsh. She is Scottish. Either way she is brilliant in this film.

  • I was surprised to find out she is Welsh. I've spent an awful lot of time in west Texas. Its surprising how drastic the accents can be. And it is very different from an east Texas accent. She got it. I became a fan immediately.

    She's absolutely gorgeous.

  • she is very sexy, i want to F**K her

  • but she is very sexy...i ant to F**K her

  • No, I just play one on TV...lol...thanks for watching! Manny

  • Epic win, dude! Two thumbs up.

  • the asian is a gaylord!

  • No, the Duchess lol :) Thanks for watching! Manny

  • couldn't you have spliced out the silly and gay asian before you posted it?

  • sorry dude, the "silly and gay asian" is part of the package, lol...thanks for watching though! Manny

  • He is the silly gay asian.

  • um...yes, thanks for posting the obvious :) Happy New Year! Manny

  • She's sooooo sexy...

  • JUST WANT TO SAY, SHE IS BY FAR THE BEST CAST FOR PAIGE MARSHALL IN PALAHNIUK'S "CHOKE"!!

When I read that book, she was the estranged nurse I imagined... And now it's a reality!

  • I completely agree! And her character's twist is unpredictable but believable! Thanks for watching :) Manny

  • nice

  • Wait til you guys see her in "Choke." Fantastic acting, and there are some sex scenes in there with Sam Rockwell, she's super hot and sweet in person. Manny

  • There you go, making me jealous again by interviewing amazingly talented people! Kelly MacDonald's a new discovery and obsession with mine. I am growing way too impatient to see Choke. I know it'll do the novel justice.

  • Wait til you see my interview with the cast...unfortunately, Kelly wasn't available, she was shooting...but Sam Rockwell, Angelica Huston, Director Clark Gregg, and author, Chuck Pahlaniuk were there! And Chuck gave the film his approval :) Is that tease enough for ya? :) I'll post 'em soon...promise! Manny

  • this her real accent/in the movie she changed it up/very talented/plus she fine as hell..i love how she says her mans name/i love her

  • Kelly Macdonald from Trainspotting! I had no idea. She was awesome in this movie. Her accent was so well done I didn't recognize her. I love how Carla Jean, the most innocent character in the movie, stands up to Chugar. "The coin ain't got no say! It's you!" Looking forward to seeing her in Choke.

  • I felt for her too. In the movie she was so sweet, and in real life her costars described her as a very sweet and lovely woman. Women like her are rare.

My recent algebra teacher reminded me of her a little bit.

  • I so badly wanted to console her after she found out her husband was killed.

  • :) Me too :) Thx for watching! Manny

  • HOLY CRAP!!!

I can't believe she was the scottish chick in Trainspotting! I didn't even realize that was the same actress when i saw her in this film.

    That's great acting!

  • I just want to say her accent is sexy as hell.

  • I second that

  • God, she is lovely.

  • her accent in this movie could of fooled me.

  • I lived in Texas and her accent and mannerisms were spot on.

  • Aussie's and folks from the UK have a knack for texan accent, more specically west texas accent. Kinda weird, they are much better than someone from michigan. Actually Bab's step-son did a great job, more than a great job...the Cohen's coached him up. The film was not at all dissapointing when compared.

  • Yeah, it is weird. I saw Gary Oldman in something and he spoke with a convincing Texas accent, odd how some british actors can pull off the southern accent better than some Americans. Of course, the opposite is true, watching Cold Mountain I didn't know that many cockneys fought in the civil war.

  • she really was fucking wonderful in that movie. i dont find her accent sexy since im from glasgow anyway but its good to know that people find glasgow accents sexy :D
