  • i like new vegas music better. alot of old fallout tracks in that game.

  • Fallout 1 has a better world map song.

  • i love the soundtrack, sometimes when im just walking through the wasteland ill turn all the sound effects off and just turn the soundtrack volume all the way up...its awesome

  • I NEED TO DOWNLOAD ALL THE SONGS!!!

  • this song reminds me of on your way to find dad and then later seeing him die does anyone else?

  • The countdown to a fiery dawn, the last chilling moments of civilisation swept away into purgatory, as the climax of the thermonuclear clouds reach across the landscape condemning the inhabitants to a dark and unresolvable tragedy.

  • @Evildonkey1

incredible picture in my mind you made.just imagine the watching our world, here,in 2011,the civilization we have been building for hundreds of years, get washed away within hours, after the fiery darkness fades, the survivors step out only to find out they are trapped in an unfixable, impossible maze of survival,if such a thing were to happen.mankind would be almost extinct.there would be no escape,no hope...

  • 1:40 - So peaceful and calm!

  • I wonder what it would be like to live in a world that has been completley obliterated, you would be the only person for miles. It would be scary and lonely.

  • when i hear this it reminds me of seeing dad die and on the way to gnr, but mostly point lookout

  • Does anyone else just sit in abandoned houses and watch the little dustballs dance through the window? I do that for hours. It calms me.

  • @AchillesSmile Where the hell do you live?!?

  • /watch?v=teckDmaZf98&feature=related

  • After a long and bloody battle, you can barely sustain yourself. Taking every chance to avoid further conflict, you finally arrive at the place the people of Megaton called "Rivet City" a haven for the wretches of D.C. You and your dog are nursed back to health and decide to head back to the deserts near the river, but now knowing that you have a new home with new friends... it gives you a warm feeling. You head towards Megaton and in the distance, red lines start to burn your skin...

  • 2:19-:2:25 is the best

  • @tailziscool102

thats what i said, one of the most unique sounds ever in a video game soundtrack.

  • @RottSimba yeah i always loved that

  • Comment removed

  • Reminds me of the story Carol from Underworld told me about leaving her bunker in the Mall to find the whole of DC in flames, and seeing her dad as a black shadow on the pavement :(

  • @TalonMercenary yeah i heard Carol story to, its quite deep and very sad, especially when she says " its as if every foul thing inside them came out, they were looting and killing, I don't want to talk about it" humans are only good because they have to be, not because they want to be.

  • Stand on a cliff edge and look across the capital wasteland.......so unforgiving

  • The ambient music in Fallout 3 is much better than New Vegas. The immersion and ambience overall in Fallout 3 beats New Vegas.

  • @chaseyqurt I totally agree with you. New Vegas was a lot more interesting as a game with that Hardcore mode, the constant worry about broken arms and dehydration and food and sleep, etc etc etc, but the music mostly annoyed me.

  • @chaseyqurt

That depends on what you're talking about. Fallout: New Vegas re-uses older fallout music which is very amazing music, but New Vegas also has a bit of it's own music. While I agree that the music in F3 is better than New Vegas, each fallout game has it's own feel. And this one happens to be the best! :)

  • @F41LSH0T New Vegas uses fallout 3's music as well.

  • @snapperturtle12

I've played over 40 hours of New Vegas. I know that. But it's only used in certain places (i.e. Novac).

  • @chaseyqurt Inon did a poor job with new vegas, I was disappointed in those regards. I just transferred over most of the song files from fallout 3 though so I don't notice anymore

  • like ailein music good to put on mother ship zeta :P

  • Not a bad track to listen to when you go on a wasteland hump with your fellow BoS buddies and a Mr. Gutsy or Sentry Bot.

  • I used to think up all these things that would be in the best video game in the world. I used to imagine that one day, I'll be able to design that game.

Somehow, Fallout 3 beat me to it. Possibly the greatest video game in history. Certainly the best FPS and RPG. The only game that holds a candle to this is Half Life 2 in my books. But in HL, you play as somebody else and never really choose who you are. The Lone Wanderer is everybody.

  • The best i have play since the old old old x-box - ps days but im talking about any game from the past... This one is the best and every game that has come out since after 08 that is a RPG this is the only one i truly love and ALWAYS WILL...

Not even Fallout NV has had any thing on Fallout 3 at allll!!!!

    Long Live FALLOUT 3!!!!!!!

  • things that make fallout 3 better than fallout new vegas: awesome and atmospheric music, more beautiful landscape, less lag and crashes, better story, better songs on the radio, and the fucking combat shotgun.

  • (uses the Sniper Shack as a home)

  • i like the evilness that lies in the song, its a dead wasteland, your the only one.... but your not alone. behind any rock, any wall, could be a enemy waiting to kill you... pure epicness... so emotional.

  • @Snoogen11 OMFG TEH HUGE DEATH CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWZ!!!!!!!!!!!111

  • Would be fun living in fallout 3 land....until you get a bladder infection or cancer

  • Good thing butch misplaced that switch blade of HIS!

  • if something like this ever happened,i would grab my Mosin-Nagant M44(with scope and ammunition),a medical kit, some food some (clean) water and a sleeping mat.but then again,if deathclaws existed,my M44 wouldn't do anything to them, but still, for some strange gut reason,i have a feeling something like this would happen in the future,i mean if you think about WWII and Vietnam, men did horrific things to each other,so..World War III is entirely possible.

  • @RottSimba Yep, VERY possible, since in the world there are a lot more than 23.574 nuclear warheads i think there is a reason for countries having that quantity of bombs... i think something like a WW3 is imminent =(

  • @RottSimba even if this would ever happen it still would take a couple 100 years for things like giant scorpions to evolve things dont happen like that right away

  • No really, can't the bombs just fall? north and south Korea ,must be fuck'n pissed and throw everything they have soon... why can't we just get it over with... i'd fell more free. anyone else?

  • @CaptainMaloy1001 Hahaha I wouldn't mind living in the world of fallout! Better get those bottle caps ready!

  • @bullyfan4 i wonder if they would take anything else for money...

  • @bullyfan4 ''caps ready'' sorry but i have to lol at that cuz i have a box full of caps^^ and wierd as i am, i have placet them in a secret area

  • @65Confused ZOMG WHERE ARE TEH CAPS!?!??!

  • @bullyfan4 In denmark the worlds most prison like country

  • As soon as I heard the exploring music, I could instantly relate them to Oblivion.

The music Bethesda makes is amazing.

If they ever paired up with BioWare for a game, I'd never leave my house.

  • @BlueAuraWolf I'm commander Shepard, and I entirely agree with you, sir.

  • The weird tune (0:27 - 0:30) makes me think aliens are going to abduct me :P amazing tune for eerie otherwordly things

  • This is sad.

  • the scary thing is...we culd get nuked...it is very possible...so fallout 3 is basiacally showing us how the US wuld look if it got nuked...thats scary too me

  • @MrHighflyer34 in my opinion its showing us how lucky we are from surviving the cold war, we were literally minutes away from having a nuclear war.

  • where can i download this

  • so relaxing try closing your eyes and relax. you will think that you are somewhere else not sitting on your chair. it happened to me

  • What a bizzare song! I was playing one night and actually shut the game off cause it was scarring me!

  • the wasteland has every mean to chill you to the bone what was once an act of warfare, to an act of whole continental destruction, yet 100 years later pockets of human life has sustained, but lost itself, as which some would find a relief, only yet to discover a world worse than they ever imagined...

  • The old and dying are dead, and the stupid (Making up the majority) are also dead. There's no room for the weak here. You've come this far it's time to keep going. Why give up now? You'll only be like them. Dead.

  • This song is so haunting! reminds me of 28 Weeks Later

  • I don't know if its just me.But I would rather test my luck out in the hard wasteland.Than to be kept in damn volt all my life.

  • @Zenuen

true i will say "all hail the overseer" over my dead body.plus some bitchin' weapons.

  • only watched the video for 2:20 ... lol

feels so... " destructive we are as a species" quoting DevilDog016

  • absoutly breath taking,stunning and makes-you-freeze feeling during 2:08-2:33

  • @RottSimba Sounded like Mother hip mod theme :o

  • @Testave xbox and ps3 and pc

  • best way to kill a feral goul.... whear you goul mask and casually walk up to them with a super sledge... you know the rest.

  • Life would be fun if the world could be like fallout!

  • But then there wouldn't be any video games :( oh well, if that was the case i would be in the brotherhood, or slaver :)

  • @SMGJohn Apart from the fact that you'l have no pets and nice tasty food.. No cats. Berely any dogs...Or drink... Or teh internetz... Only good thing is no school and no laws :P

  • @HellHunterCombine Of cores you can have pets and nice food. Internet is fucking boring sometimes it's much funner to explore ghost towns and feel the nature and look at old houses and such like Chernobyl, Chernobyl was the best time in my life I miss that place and best of all you get to shoot with guns! And there will still be laws in small communities

  • @SMGJohn well... food would have radiation... and the cats in fallout 2 died.

most creatures were exposed to rad and mutated

  • @HellHunterCombine Really doesn't exactly have to be like Fallout but there is some Russian food and Ukrainian that are radiation proof which have been mass produced since 1986 also Vodka isn't affected by radiation. Cats have this great ability to survive in some radiated areas but not for too long or not in high radiation either. But the actually idea of living in a wasteland or a "zombie" alike planet would been much funner then this life right now

  • @SMGJohn

and don't forget hazerdous,Feral Ghoul Reavers, extremely irradiated areas (vault 87 ,3000 RADS A FUCKING SECOND,WTF?),Behemoths, struggling to survive, so for adreniline junkies (like me) it would be a awesome life.for the average joe...

  • @RottSimba Don't be so eager.

Men have gone to war in Vietnam boasting how they will kill everything and dominate the enemy. Some went there exactly for this - the adrenaline rush. Being in combat. Seeing what it's like.

But even the best didn't come out in one piece. They would lose their mind. They would sit in bomb craters, rocking back and forth, screaming like animals. Google "PTSD." And they were against other people, not against murderous mutated creatures.

  • @DevilDog016

    yeah,i know.but i could hardly imagine how new york,washington DC,Miami,

Chicago,Philidelphia,Los Angelas, and so on being whiped out in a matter of hours.i would find a way to survive, but like i said for the average man it would be next to impossible to survive out there without experiance.and yes Shock does have a major effect on any soldier coming out of war.

  • @RottSimba I there was an apocalipse, I would head for a rural area, less rubble, and much more animals to hunt, plus less civilization, and in a wasteland everybody will roam free looting and killing.

  • @JustSomeRandomDude99

you my friend, are execeptionally smart,i never thought about it that way.and dont forget the raiders killing and looting,id take cover in that fallout vault in the mojavhe desert in CA,if i couldint after the bombs fall,i would try to hold out in an abandoned home, with landmines around it.

  • @RottSimba Yeah, but you need a balance. For example you probably want a 4-5 house area where everyone knows and trusts eachother, so because of the balance you can still help eachother out, but you can all trust each other, you can then hunt animals in parties and protect your small settlement from small groups of raiders and so on.

  • @JustSomeRandomDude99 \

to be honest,i wouldnt trust anyone after the bombs fell, such extreme changes to the US could effect the american citizen in ways never seen before

  • @DevilDog016 usa failed in vietnam

  • @millionhera22 What is your point? The US's failure in Vietnam does not corellate with Fallout 3's storyline in any way.

  • its like a flashback of the time before the nuclear apocalypse then you wake up and your memories trail away into the darkness of the wasteland into the living hell of the wastes eternally lost.... forever

  • @Evildonkey1 Or at least for the next 200 years when things start growing back. Don't wanna ruin the mood but it's not like the surface of the moon :p. Maybe less if you decide to use Herbert's "gift"

  • this one is best at night

  • 0:57 reminds me of walking in the deep night, overlooking a cliff and seeing 2 or 3 death claws walking around......

  • the part at 0.57 makes me think of the feral gouls they may b easy 2 kill but god they r scary

  • revers are not easy to kill

  • @Pinstr yh agree with that but the basic ones that take 3 shot 2 take down

  • @Pinstr they certainly aint. Though i think SM overlords are the toughest things out there

  • maybe the best xbox360 game until now

  • it expresses the brutality and harshness of the wasteland in a peaceful but chilling way like your in a sandstorm.....safe for now.....but how you survive is entirely......up ......to you

  • reminds me walkin around oasis, lookin for raiders to rid of the wasteland, ever weary of savage super mutants, i kill them whenever i can, they herd off the normal ones, only to make them change...with the help of the green stuff...(lol it was a bit enigmatic whilst writing the last words of that sentence, especially when the last of this song was playing as well)

  • This song is PERFECT for my character. Wake up in a house you found last night, step outside and do a recon of the area in the city ruins your in. If all is clear, have breakfast with Dogmeat, and then head into the subway.

You avoid Super Mutants when ever you get the chance, and you turn the tide against the raiders with your sawed off shotgun.

After a long day of survival, you sleep once again in the basement of a house in a graveyard.... and repeat.

  • @MisterVidicus you run from super mutants? pffffffffffffffttt. i decapitate them with a 3 round burst.

  • @MisterVidicus Sounds like I Am Legend. ;)

  • @Adnama109

    or Eli's book.

  • I play this game like i would life it in real life, i dont just kill every thing that moves, i watch from a distance, i have a daily walk with dog meat, and then i climb the hight peak to watch the sun set behind the chaos on downtown D.C.

  • so fucking amazing sound !!!!

    LOVE IT xD

  • there is no life left, or is there what the civilisation put effort into all this only to be destoyed instantly.

this is america this is an apocalypse

  • its like youve woken up right after the atomic apocalypse walking....searching....for any life but you know the dangers in your way.....but,you dont care

  • I always write my Fallout stories while listening to the Explore soundtracks. It's the only way to do it.

  • @oryandymackie95 you write Stories? Can you explain that a lil' bit more? pls

  • I don't follow the plotline as such, I simply track my character's progress on the game, but I embellish the stories and add small odd-parts on to the main storyline.

  • @oryandymackie95 Sounds very interessting. ;)

  • All I do is utilise my Blogger. I have exactly zero followers. It's no great shakes really, but I find it fun.

  • Where do you write them?

  • On Blogger

  • my fav song in fallout kind of makes u want to wake up from a dream or something

  • i ask a lot of my friends if they know what fallout 3 is and they dont bloody know it disgusts me a brilliant game that even many people dont know about

  • its like your walking through the wasteland thinking about your dad and you are going to make them pay, besides anyone lvl 20?

  • im level 30 with bad karma lol

  • Im about to enter an isolated, contaminated, decommissioned vault. Vault 106. Getting ready to find whatever i can get. Im alone, by myself. Im at the entrance, i see the rad roaches and super mutants. Its dark... Im ready. Here we go

  • it just makes you feel isolated oh and favourite fallout 3 music

  • its like your lonely with no civilisation left but your not alone.

  • i love this tune, i always get it ALWAYS when i adventure around 10 at night.

  • I agree with DevilDog016 the fallout 3 wasteland is beautiful just look at the Pitt.

  • In oblivion, this wouldnt be close to being an explore theme. It would be thrown right into the dungeon songs. But in Fallout 3, An entire wasteland already feels like your roaming a dungeon all way through. There is nothing beautiful in fallout 3 but for whatever is still standing from the nukes.

  • Actually I find the whole landscape to be beautiful in Fallout 3. It shows exactly how destructive we are as a species, how hundreds of years of sweat and dedication spent on building our civilisation can be wiped out in seconds, how we managed to reduce ourselves from a bustling planet of activity to a decrepit, empty, radiated wasteland. How so few can decide the fate of so many, and how one choice cant destroy a world. Sometimes destruction is beautifully chilling.

  • didnt the great war last for bout 2 hours though? XD

  • i cant say it any diffrently that is the best paragraph i ever heard

  • @DevilDog016

i couldn't have said it any better...

  • @DevilDog016

you need to copyright that shiz

  • @DevilDog016 i agree. i find post-apocoliptic so fastinating

  • @DevilDog016 I agree with you.

  • @DevilDog016 True that, and when you are in a world like the one in Fallout 3 (Which i think we are not far from) Everyone as always will do everything to survive and you will cant trust anyone anymore, everyone desperate for survival not knowing if they can die tomorrow because of the radiation or mutants or wolves or dogs or everything, People will look each other and realize how we just returned to the prehistory.

  • @DevilDog016 spoken in the true words of a wasteland... *sniff*, that was... so beautiful...

  • @DevilDog016 This is why I love post-apocalyptic stories, if they're done appropriately. There's a certain kind of beauty to it, as well as a lot of inevitable truth. With so much competition and opposition in the world, combined with advanced weapon technology that we've managed to create for these purposes, like they say in Terminator, it's in our nature to destroy ourselves. As long as we don't have peace amongst one another as a one human race, this kind of landscape remains very possible.

  • @TangibleNought "(...) like they say in Terminator, it's in our nature to destroy ourselves. As long as we don't have peace amongst one another(...)"

It's in the nature of animals to destroy. We have risen to prey on plants, and then on each other. And it's fun. And that's why we play these games. Destruction is good for you.

  • @DevilDog016 Well said!

  • @xpolar1706x Oasis is the only 'beautiful' thing in Fallout 3, even though it has some pretty weird stuff in it.

  • Comment removed

  • @xpolar1706x I think it is beautiful. All of it. No matter how dangerous it is.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Metro 2033, Fallout, everything. To see how these disasters have turned the world around them in a time capsule, where everything from shacks to soaring skyscrapers have been frozen in time.

A place where there is silence and the wind. A place where no-one is caught in the torrent of society. A place that can entice you with its deathly silence. Somewhere where you don't have to worry about tomorrow.

  • @xpolar1706x Actually I have to disagree, the mangled metal and debris is quite eerily beautiful once you take a minute to absorb it all.

  • @ComradeChad only a true adventurer would take pride in his exploration and taking his time to absorb something like that. i personally don't see how that is a beautiful part of the world of fallout 3. most people playing the game will look at whats still standing as a piece of art.

  • @xpolar1706x It is art. It is like the paintings of Van Gogh, the music of Bach, the sculptures of DaVinci - their creator is long since gone, and that makes them ever so more valuable. This applies to Fallout 3.

Will there be anyone left, when humanity rises again, that will remember about the Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol Building, the awe-inspiring National Archive, or the Museum of History? That will rebuild them? No.

That's what makes the wasteland so valuable and beautiful.

  • @DevilDog016 If we can just survive Yao Guais, Radscorps, and Deathclaws to enjoy the wasteland for what it is. I hope you got a L96 sniper rifle(like the ones in the game).

  • @xpolar1706x

I think there is a beauty to Fallout 3's vast expanses, its abandoned outposts, places of true significance. Its bleakness is beautiful.

  • I always hear this when i'm roaming the wastes with dogmeat, clover, charon, RL3 and jericho (yes i used the glitch when you can have tons of followers)

  • this song is also in Point Lookout...

  • Isn't this the night time exploring theme?

  • I hear this at times in abandoned vaults and makes it muuuch creepier.

  • Definately the darker of the seven explore themes. I always get this theme when I'm around Old Olney, which increases the creepiness ten fold.

  • mostly I keep the radio off to hear this post apocalyptic (the real fallout 3) music...

  • Beautiful

  • feels like jesper kyd hired to make music inspired by fallout lol

  • it says in the description that this was composed by Inon Zur

  • Yeap ino. I'm just saying if you listen to earlier hitman soundtracks, their sound seems like an influence on this work.
