    (not thinking it was possible)

    thankyou so much^^

  • Download over 300 video and audio editing tools from one SINGLE ftp for free. Just google for Aries-Films and see how many great video plugins, sound effects and programs out there

  • I have 2 displays, one in my 20 inch imac and one secondary dell. Most dell monitors have support for one DVI channel and one VGA one. I have my dell monitor so that it can switch between my mac (DVI) and my PC (DVI to VGA adapter), and it works great. Only unfortunate thing is that I can't get synergy to work on both my mac and PC, but it's fine.

  • your video quality suck a lot, it remind me back on the day.

  • I also haz a 22" @ 1200x1600 :) 2comments :L

  • So can you use the iMac mouse n keyboard on a win xp machine?

  • hi... would you know if Compaq Q2009 20-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor would connect to my 20 inch imac??? please help... i tried researching but i dnt really know what the requirements are....

  • @AaronBalitskyz If your 20" iMac has support up to at least 1920x1080 a 20" monitor should work fine. You may need a converter from I belive to be a minidisplay port on an iMac to whatever the monitor has as its connection.:)

  • @AaronBalitskyz Yes it should work as long as you have a adapter

  • Hello. I have a iMac 20" and a Sony Bravia KDL-20B4050. I want to plug in my Sony Bravia 20" but its a strange resolution 1366 x 768. I found my mac cant do 1366 x 768. Is their some why for adjusting the resolution to fit the screen. The best i can do is 1344 x 840. Also my friend told me that if i got a Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter then got a DVI to HDMI adapter that would work. any ideas? My sony has VGA

  • Would maybe work with a small converting box.

Displayport is digital and VGA is analog. That doesn't work together.

  • I found moving the menu bar really easy to find. I mostly use windows too!

  • i use 3 x 22" and matrox triple head to go digital and span the desktop over all 3

    the rez i 3200x1024

  • @croquis24 DAMN!!! That's an awesome setup! I'm hopefully getting a 22" for Christmas =)

  • Nice!!!!!!!!

  • i l ove my dual screen setup

  • i have a bigger monitor than 30 inches lol. my 40 inch hdtv is my tv and i have my computer hooked up to it

  • thats cool, but your hdtv wasnt made for computer, even if it has vga or dvi,

  • i know but it rocks and is my best monitor ever, the only one i liked better were the macbooks glossy screens but i really love for some reason the imacs 24 inch screen

  • 1920*1080 is NOT bigger than 2560*1600

  • The pixels on 1920*1080 are bigger

  • @darkksyde

depends on the size of the monitor...

If you have 1920x1080 on a 17" or on a 50" there is a huge difference in pixel size. The same goes with 2560x1600

  • Anyone heard of Matrox Triple head 2go

  • hey man ive got a mac book n i wanna have two screens so ive tried connecting it to a windows monitor but nothing is hapening nothings being recognised n i dont kno what to do can u help me i would really appriciate it?

  • What's a windows monitor?

  • Go to system prefs and go to displays and choose detect displays.

  • does this work for mac desktop

  • Hwy Chris you should get together with maxishine and do something.

  • Chris, when u are in system preferences go to displays and when looking at the two displays move the menubar that is on the preview and move it

  • Second laptop was pointless, you could do all this with one macbook pro

  • OMG U GEEK!...........very nice!

  • same in linux..

  • Good job explaining what otherwise may seem mundane. You have a penchant for detail and an ability to verbalize it.

  • i have two 40inchs connected to a g4 cube!

  • lol

  • LOL, nice setup. Have you considered upgrading the computer? I'd go with a MacBook or MacBook Pro if I were you ;D

  • i have a powerbook g4 also....

  • I wasn't insulting or anything, it's just that I love the G4's. I like most of the Apple hardware, just as long as it can run Leopard ;)

  • What ever you do don't get rid of that cube!!

  • im sold it about 4 weeks ago and am going to get a 20inch imac now with a very...very... long cable going from my bedroom to my office os there the same computer lol

  • i suggest you have music playing lightly in the background to amek the video have a interesting feel to it

  • @jdang he does that now.

  • he should get parallels

  • Actually, OS X does use a primary monitor concept. The NSScreen object can recognize and differentiate between the main display (the one with the menu bar and Dock) and other displays. Check out the "screens" method, which gives you a list of monitors available.

  • wow your a nerd

  • i wanted to ask somthing... is the 30 inch ultrasharp better on a macbook pro the white one? or the apple 30 inch with the old macbook pro?

  • why did you take 6 minutes to explain something that could have been explained in 1?

  • WOW .... I was looking for this for a long time man , Thanks a lot .

  • thanks for the menu bar trick.. cool

  • does anyone know how to hook a maxos to a emachine 15" display?

  • haha yes chris i am running dual 30" monitors :P

i chose the Apple Cinema Displays over the DELL's because of the aluminum casing over the plastic and the contrast and colours seemed to be a bit better over all. though the Dell Ultrasharps are amazing dont get me wrong, i was just able to get a good price on the Cinema Displays

    Cheers Logik

  • i'm playing in 3 screen on my computer. SO F****n nice for work and everything

  • I want Dual Screens, looks like the Batcave.

  • that is the bigggest nerd i've seen in my entire life.LOL at him

  • looks pretty cool. I don't need dual monitors though.

wtf are those flashing lights over his desk?

  • Those are binary clocks actually

  • oh yeah? Where can I get some like the kind he's got

  • thoes are called TIX clocks

  • thank you. I think I'll buy one.

  • haha once you use dual monitors, you will never go back. i'm hooked. i went from single 20" to dual 20" then thought 1 x 30" cinema display would be okay because its so HUGE, but i was wrng, i needed two. so now i have dual 30" cinema displays. i'll post my unboxing videos when i get back to the studio which is under renovations at the moment. probably 2nd week of feb i'll post the new mac pro, 32gigs of ram and dual 30" Apple Cinema Displays

  • logicalways how can you justify (to yourself) spending so much money on those cinema displays? I already bought a 20" and that feels like I've been pwned by apple.

  • Emulator900 why do i have to justify it? i want something i buy it? i love the cinema displays due to the aluminum case instead of the plastic. i make good money in the recoridng business to say money is no option when it comes to displays. if your going to stare at something for 20 hours a day, you might as well have something that looks good.

  • > why do i have to justify it?

Well none of us HAVE to do anything..

    > if your going to stare at something for 20 hours a day, you might

    > as well have something that looks good.

Yes I agree, that was my reaosn too.

  • haha how do you justify 32 gigs of ram?

  • haha why does everyone have to justify what they have? i have 32gigs of ram and dual 30" cinema displays.... soon my business is going to buy the new 2009 Mac Pro and when the new 30" LED displays come out; we'll get those as well... its just a business write off over 3 years so its pefectly worth it.

  • haha for sure bro i was just messing lol...and yea dude those new mac pros with the nehalem shit is sick...ive got the unibody macbook and the new mac mini that just dropped with the nvidia card...bet your buisness will kick ass once snow leopard drops...takin advantage of thos 8 core processors is going to be madly insane

  • They are not so good. The cost bumped-up a lot since the 2008 one. What I mean is that you have to pay more to get equivalent hardware but you can pay less to get higher performance.

In the end, if you want a Mac Pro 2009. You have to get the high end to have a good value upgrade from the 2008 one. Under 3600$, they will not be that much of an upgrade. If you plan to pay less than that, you should just get the video card upgrade and replace the internal HDD with seagate 7200.12 drives.

  • what is needed for you to do this?

  • No, not with all MacBooks.

With the new Alu MacBooks, you can do that, if you use a Mini DisplayPort to dual-link DVI Adapter (there are two adapters in the Apple Store, you'll have to buy the one for 99$)

With the old white MacBooks you can't connect any Display that runs at 2560x1600 px.

  • can this b done with a macbook?

  • yes

  • anyone know of a keyboard short cut to switch the primary display, i have my mates playing evo on the my main monitor some of the time and i would love to be able to switch without un plugging my xbox, *(i dont think i can use automaton as i believe it cant access the prefs pane) im also using teleport from my macbook to control the remaining monitor so i cant use the Fkey to do clone or anything so thats not really an option. if anyone could help that would be sweet. cheers

  • Create a script its insanely easy to do.

Just hit record and do what you want to do it should record it all.

If it doesn't search on some big apple forums. I got one for switch resolution and orientation a wile back.

  • I have a 17" mac book pro 2.5ghz witha 23" apple screen and was not good enough for photographic work, I went to a 20" screen which is the exact spec as the 17" and is a whole lot better. I think it is important to see what your Mac pushed out screen size wise before you get an apple screen, bit is not always best "Speaking about add on screens" the iMac 24" is obviously built with it's own screen taken into account and gives a fantastic clarity but bad for Pro printing as it's glossy!

  • Cheers pirillo i could change the menu bar now :)

  • Thanks for nothing, obviously "lockergnome" here doesn't know anything about iBook G4's so if anybody have an iBook dont' bother asking this person for answers.

  • go do something productive with your life than to critisize people on youtube, youre really the lame one

  • here's a challenge for ya,

I have an iBook G4 14" (1024x768res) and i also have a 19" phillips monitor which i think is a bit higher in resolution like 1298x....

I have a VGA adapter that came with the ibook, it basically enables you to project whats on your ibook to the projector or another monitor, so in other words what you see on the ibook is what you see projected on another screen.

so far i've conneccted the ibook to the monitor, it reognizes it but...

  • the thing is when the monitor and ibook are connected the 2 dialog boxes comes up and each one with its own screen resolution, but it doesn't have the button "arrangements" or anything like that, all it has is "Gather windows" which i've pressed but it doesn't do anything, both screen still displaying the exact same thing and not one long screen. My external monitor only has a VGA port no dual link port. Is it possible to have a dual screen with these equipment?

  • "Is it possible to have a dual screen with these equipment?"

Yeah, just Google: "Screen Spanning Doctor 0.3.3". Use it at your own risk.

  • Um...that doesn't sound reassuring.

But does it definitely work or are you trying to crash my computer LOL?

  • It's a hack. iBooks were not designed for screen spanning. So use it at your own risk. I've never head of anyone having a problem with it, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.

  • geez...your not making it any reassuring are you? :D

I might try later after i read about it a bit more.

So do you still just plug the VGA adapter as per usual like normal? like do you still just plug your ibook to the external monitor as i did before?

  • hey! thanks again

I've tried it and it works!!!!

I just hope i won't run into any problems.

Anyways thanks so much, i can finally unclutter the screen by shifting stuff onto the other window.

Pretty cool if you ask me ;D

  • I would never have found that. I just got my MBP and I think too much like Windows (because I used it for most of my life).

  • Does Google sponsor you now lol.

  • i dont like big screens lol

  • You can move the menu bar on windows too like that.

  • Windows Doesn't have a Menu Bar, you idiot.

  • Sorry I ment the taskbar.

  • And actually you can't. Show a video of you doing that.

  • OK, I will.

  • Oh, wait I can't because I don't currently have a dual monitor setup. But you cant move the taskbar on windows to the 2nd monitor, by unlockingthe taskbar and, then click and drag the taskbar from the main monitor to the dual monitor.

  • Actually, It's not as simple as in OS X but I'm not gonna start a debate...

  • Thank you!!! Yes I was about to say that we should not start to fight about this. Also I was just saying that you could move the windows taskbar that's all. Also I have a mac mini now so I agree that it's easier on mac than windows.

  • he has 2 30"er's because he wants the extra space. RETARD!!!

  • Synergy Rocks :)

It takes a little while to get it, but it works great after you get it working.

  • ?????

  • how many mbp do you have

  • there is nothing up with beying a geek im a geek ind i love it :D

  • Oh wow, that is a big insult to Chris Pirillo. LOL

  • being a geek is cool

  • RETARDS!!!

  • i hate that he has awesome computers

  • Is he using DVI to DHMI?

  • Most likely DVI

  • u mean hdmi

  • um... i have the same monitor you have chris. and on windows, you don't have to reboot, you don't have to calibrate colours (dell 30" is designed to work with windows), windows recognise the model number, it detects it right away too. and, you can configure a wallpaper seperately on windows too, if you have an nVidia graphics card. and, you can arrange the displays the same, move the task bar the exact same too. turn the brightness down on the dell monitor. thats the only physical buttons on it.

  • I use synergy between my Mac os 10.5 powermac and my windows xp laptop. I have been using it for about 3/4 a year now and it has been great!

  • Ok Ive got my PC hooked up with 2 Mice, 2 Keyboards, and 2 Monitors. I want to play World of Warcraft on my left monitor(Mine). She wants to play Sims 2 on right with her mouse and keyboard (hooked to my PC). If I Install Ubuntu is this possible?. I heard about Desktop Multiplier lets me do this. Problem is I cant seem to get it working. Any help I can get?

  • lol love what he said "it was so simple it was difficult" w000t

  • Synergy is so great. One mouse and keyboard between my XP desktop and my Mackbook Pro running side by side. Absolutely amazing and FREE!

  • i have two monitors on my win 98 laptop right now lol, its pretty cool. i cant wait to get my new macbook :)

  • amm y are u even running windows 98 are u poor or somfin

  • Poor? He's surrounded by two macbook pros and 30 inch hd dell monitors...

  • He was talking to the above. Hence the reply... >_>

  • no, its because i'm 15 and i just got it from my uncle when he got a new one. my moms laptop has windows xp my dads desktop has vista and he just bought a new macbook air which got here 3 days ago. i'm not poor. i also have a desktop running windows 2000.

  • Its easy, just shut the lid of the macbook pro, then plug in the other display. Job Done.

  • you can drag the start menu to different screens on windows

  • can't you just use a switch to go back and forth between both computers using the same mouse and keyboard?

  • Actually there is a freeware program that I heard about that can do this.

  • I mean a hardware switch. I have this little switch that can be connected to two computers and you use the keyboard and mouse directly on the switch.

you can then go back and forth with the touch of a button, without having to install anything

  • That's cool, ive been looking for something like that.

  • Shut up vendetta76 damn neewbie

  • you shut up how is uploading over 700 videos to youtube goin´to be a work?

  • lol ive been using my apple for years and never knew that

  • I have 3 monitors as well, 1 22", 2 19", very helpful when multitasking

  • Chris, you have 2x30", I have 3x20" :D evens out I guess?

Synergy over wireless is no problem, I have it at home (XP and Tiger), however I've heard there are issues running synergy on Vista as a background service, and running it on Leopard at all. So I hope you can get it to work.

  • NO. you have about 5 1/3 million pixels to play with (assuming you have top of the line apple 20" displays). He has more than 8 million.

    Cris 1 Funk 0

    you loose!

  • D'OH!

  • I can not believe it i knew something Chris did not. Drag.
