  • My dad forced me to watch this last night. (I'm 18) , once making fun of the bad animation gets old , you get used to it , and then you realize it's not half bad. I enjoyed it.

  • Polyphenus is one of my favourite greek mythological characters

  • 0:59 Cyclops: OWWOWOWWWWOWWWW FIRE IN MY EYE!!!!!!

  • Cyclops:Forget the tree!

    Man:AAAAAHHHH!!!!! TREE!

The man got hit by the tree when the cyclops throwed it. XD

  • keep on pressing 3 to see the guy get killed

  • that cyclops really need to stop yelling and get some killing going on :P

  • cyclops shows them that he can throw spears too , well tree trunks

  • aw it's blind ;_; i feel sorry for it...... KILL IT FINALLY!

  • Gotta get more movies with Harryhausen in them ^^

Loved this movie as a kid and still do, especially the effects

  • Booze and Cyclops don't mix.

  • @schallrd1 Should have given the cyclops a drink then it would have had as good as two eyes. LOL

  • its the same sound effects

  • it would be funnier when the spear,at 0:03,hits thy cycloips ass!

  • Raaaooor!!!

  • loL

  • 0)

  • Burn that fuckin eye!

  • LoL

  • Im only eight and I love it!

  • The uncanny valley effect makes it scarier.

  • GET EM CYCLOPS!!!!!

  • If I were the cyclops, I'd have lost it and gone "Enough with the damn spears and arrows already! It's pissing me off"

  • poor cyclop

  • This was what originally inspired Henry Selick (director of Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, and James and the Giant Peach...) to want to jump into stop-motion!!

He's right! There's some super great animation in these clips! I'm impressed how good it is considering it was made in the late 50s! Nice eye, Henry! <3

  • sinbads got sum balls.

  • This monster traumatized me as a kid.....

  • woooww

  • did humans evolve from cyclops ?

  • Incredibly well made. Harryhousen's work?

  • they could just briskly walk away

  • Having One Eye is a terrible disadvantage.

  • OMG...he just crushed two guys with a log

  • I have such vivid memories of this from when I was a kid, especially the part at 0:50 where he's peering in through the rocks.

  • the stop motion technique makes the monster much scarier than film-monsters today.

  • I SO AGREE OMG

  • @sunzsu yes todays monsters are funny, I remmember when I first time watched Old Nosferatu, 1922. I was kid and it was year 2002, I tought omg its boring old movie, but when that horrible damned usic in castle, and that Nosferatu appears in doors, wich automatic opens. It was scary, or when Nosferatu on Ship. Ouu I was not able to sleep for month after it.

  • @MatKoReN Nosferatu used to scare me too, especially Orlock. He's still the scariest vampire i ever laid eyes on.

  • @sunzsu yeah it feels very scary :P

  • @sunzsu if you say so

  • @sunzsu indeed

  • @sunzsu are you serious

  • Jesus, this reminds me of being a kid. Its so 80's (Even tho it was made in the 50's or 60's). To me the cyclops is so mid 80's.... He should have a bouffant hair style.... Then he truely would be 80's. He's also clearly a homosexual who has yet to come out of the closet.... Hence the anger he displays... He really does need to have a good look at himself and maybe attend an anger management class.

  • Simply brilliant

  • I would have used the tree as a baseball bat lol

  • haha this used to scare the shit out of me when i was a kid =P

  • leave the cyclope alone!!!!!

  • In the end the guy should have said "Marco!"

  • I feel sorry for the cyclops lol

  • Too bad they torched his good eye!

  • @arvid1985 Always made and still makes me cry...

  • I'm young but I like cyclops wow barbequing that man

  • I was so fascinated when i saw this as a kid. Now i still love it just the same. It'll always remain special to me and nothing can replaced it.

  • Man..the cyclops has been hittin' the gym. He's jacked and sportin' a 6 pack. I remember watching this in a theatre and I was captivated by the special effects. The creatures created Ray Harryhausen seem to have a personality that came across. It isn't fair to compare the special effects of years before to the current. Many of these special effects were the inspiration to CGI.

  • Eye On Apply Directly To The Eye

  • This scene used to scare me when I was a kid. But I loved it. God this movie is still great.

  • @annialater123 Whats great about movies like this is that they never loose their touch with age.

  • Cyclops was lagging the server @ 0:23 !!!

  • 0:58 you just got torched biitttcchhhh

  • wieso haut der nciht mit dem baum zu wie mit nem knüppel ???

  • for many years you said:wow it looks really realistic...but now you only laugh about such things :/

  • Might be wrong, but I thought they got a monster of their own to fight it...

  • lol funny

  • this cyclops way better then all the cgi today

  • the rocks are formet like an

    ass

  • yeah the good times

  • I still remember when my little brother and uncle would watch this when we were younger

    good times

  • OH the torcher poor GOD,Praamžius,Dievas Senelis,Aušrinė

or what type of god he is !!!!!!!

  • so awesome. favourite movie from my childhood.. still super sick!

  • I felt sorry for the cyclops when he gets blinded. They tease him after that.

I guess that's a tribute to Harryhausen's animation, that one can feel a personality exists in a clay monster.

  • its actually pretty good graphics considering the time period

you should type in cyclops 2008 for 2008 the movie sucked it was like watching the whole movie in the trailer

  • Lmao

  • this is my fave monster ever, its so epic

  • best animation of all time :)

  • Ya, I just want to hug him and squeeze him and pet him and call him George

  • the cyclops is so cute

  • Yeah I want one to upset my neighbours.

  • it looks like a cyclops of the game age of mythology

  • man I saw this movie in my childhood ... it was a longtime ago but I still remebered the cyclpos crushing the men with a tree. :D

  • the cyclop really got owned^^

  • i saw this movie when i was 6 years old and the scene where the dragon fights the cyclops still haunts me to this day...

  • jason met a cyclops to right?

  • yep

  • u mean jason and the argonauts? it was odyseuss who met the cyclops polythemus on sicily and blinded him jason went after the golden fleece

  • If someone was to ask me why do I watch films, i would say, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Woody Allen, Orson Welles and the cyclops in the 7th voyage, I love Harryhausen I hope he has many happy years ahead of him, he deserves it for giving me nightmares ;)

  • Harryhausen wasn't just a master animator, but also a master sculptor and solver of formal problems. No one in the whole history of art, from Poussin back to the ancient Greeks themselves, ever worked out a more satisfactory solution to the problem of just where do you put a Cyclops' eye. H took it off the forehead and got it under the brow, but then what the hell do you do with the bridge of the nose? H dared to get rid of it. Then you have to link the eye to a stump of a nose. Not easy...

  • replying to my own post here. There are in fact a few instances of ancient cyclops sculptures with the eye replacing the bridge of the nose (no instances in the history of CE Western European art though). However, I still think RH did the best job with the eye, because one also has to get rid of any sense of eye sockets to each side, some remnant of which remains in the ancient versions, but which has been totally eradicated in Ray's effort.

  • Also Ray's linking of the eye to the nose stub is more solid and convincing than the ancient attempts, because of the emphatic line he takes from the eye corners down into the inner tops of the nostrils. The ancient attempts by contrast do tend to leave the two features floating rather uncertainly in relation to each other.

  • funny maded

  • just an observation, it looks like ensemble studios took this cyclops for the ones in age of mythology. looks coool

  • awsome!!!! really good special effects, unlike those stupid computer effects the monster actually seems real !!! well done

  • Impressive even by todays standards. I love all the sinbad movies, jack the giant killer, etc.

  • its great how dare you its a classic i mean they made this in the fivties and thats good

  • whats your problem you asshole

  • Hes just some stupid kid.

  • Love how the cyclops uses the tree to kill the drunks.

  • My favorite sequence from one of my all-time favorite movies. Don't make 'em like this any more.

  • Agreed. This whole scene made me scared the Cyclops was going to grab me from my bedroom when I was a little guy

  • I used to watch this film every week when I was a kid. Watching the cyclops now in this video still scares me!
