  • Is this song in standard?

  • SMILE... cause it makes you butt tingle!

  • I love the yellow! The balloon made me happy! Happy Face!!!

  • Sorry to break the magic 999, it's my fault now we're 1000 loving Kaki King.

  • Lol if this had Maynard James Keenan in it, I think it would sound pretty much exactly like Perfect Circle. I kinda like this more though....

  • What are those? Guitar picking glue-on nails?

  • @blomlie yup

  • makes me cry every time

  • 17 people are bad people.

  • This music is, quite simply, beautiful.

  • shit's good

  • Wait... does this seriously only have 199,000 views? WHAT THE HECK?! This is real music that you actually sit and listen to! The kind of music that you can feel flowing through you, it's amazing. Why does it have so few views!? People are missing out.

  • Yes.

  • I just realized the quote "Can anyone who has heard this music really be a bad person?" appears in (or may be from) Lives Of Others. Great movie, check it out.

  • @Pangolinsunite it totally is. It makes sense that Kaki would quote that movie, her latest album is really all about the whole spy/double agent thing. I spoke with her at a concert in Boulder and she was telling me that her main inspirations for Junior was a breakup and a years worth of spy novellas.

  • amazing, and always a shape shifter to boot. Kaki is so many people.

  • That was the most beautiful I have ever heard in my entire life. The video should not even be watched while listening; it is a distraction.

  • maybe the title should be called "Can anyone who has made this music really be a bad person"...

    beautiful music though

  • This video makes me want to bake chocolate muffins

  • @bozner88 For the same reason all the best looking guys are always queer :)

  • gorgeous song kaki!

  • this reminds me a lot of Untitled #8 by Sigur Ros... the build up...

  • Beautiful ... I don't know what else to say ...

  • well. I'm hard.

  • i dream this music every night when i fall asleep to dreaming of revenge

  • Can anyone who has heard this music really be a bad person?

  • I usually love metal type bands, but Kaki King is my guilty pleasure

  • @antsandlions please, by all means, pleasure yourself

  • @antsandlions Guilty pleasure? Kaki kicks metal bands in the ass and make them her bitch. :)

  • @aikighost tesseract - acceptance, its a good band give em a listen if you like experimental types of bands

  • @aikighost she likes metal, or at least, recgnizes the talent found in many of the bands, specially on the drumming department, in an interview.

  • expressions from the soul...

  • beautiful song!

  • Comment removed

  • wish i could play half as good as she can

    such talent

  • Favourite song of all time.

  • This is such an incredibly powerful song. It's nice to blast this on your headphones, zone out for a while, and just... think. I never want this amazing woman to stop writing music. Never.

  • I love You!!!

  • Her videos are GREAT. They all have a very distinctive look. Beautiful.

  • I wonder how many birds and sea creatures choked to death on those balloons.

  • @GrahamLazarovich Please read a book. You strike me as a dimwit who lazily thinks that a couple of baloons actually do anything. The earth will survive dumbasses like you. go away.

  • her music is beautiful.

  • I am a bad person. HA HA.

  • Kaki, please never stop writing music.

  • haaaaaoooooooooooooo my god... wow

  • wow. that was amazing. saw your performance at wanderlust and had no idea you made such videos. fantastic work Kaki! Keep it up.

  • Say, this is good music!

  • Melancholic milk drinking!

    YES!!!

  • Dislikes? Why?

  • holy fucking shit

  • @vassilli0s that is exactly what i was thinking, btw this was on a kaki king video and you said holy fucking shit, i figured you have probably forgotten cause you posted that a month ago

  • kaki is not lesbian , she just wanna be left alone.

  • @yomotoro Uh, yes she is. She's stated so herself and it's nothing to be ashamed of, although I'm not sure why people feel the need to mention it seeing as how her being a lesbian and her music are two seperate things in a way. Maybe that's just me though.

  • Does anyone know the tuning for this song?

  • Kaki is amazing.. I love this song

  • what was used on this for the amp and effects if used.....i like the breakup quality in the guitars sound ?

    p.s your awesome.

  • conor lee i hope you are watching this now.

  • One of my favourite songs from Kaki King. Feel so many things listening to her albums.

  • Amazing!!!

  • Support this music! Show that real musicians should deserve the attention rather than Minaj, Beiber, and all these other wannabe stars

  • @ThePauseMenu eh beiber isnt even a false musician, hes more like a teenage mutant turtle ( not cool enough to be a ninja )

  • @totollol good reply lol

  • @ThePauseMenu

while this is most certainly beautiful music, i don't believe King's true motivations are apparent, i think she knows what i mean...

  • @ThePauseMenu

Talent doesn't define popularity. Word of mouth is the biggest factor to success other than media, and being in the right place at the right time.

However, that's not what music is about. It's about having fun and expressing yourself through music, regardless of who is listening. The average listener enjoys simple music that you can headbang or groove to. There's nothing wrong with what Bieber and Minaj are doing. They're doing the music they enjoy doing, even if you hate it.

  • The change at 0:25 is a golden moment (among many) in the Kaki King oeuvre

  • @dancersinthedark - what drugs are you on again? I´ll give you time to analyse it

  • Hearing the song and Listening to it are two completely different things in my opinion...

  • @SublimeRealityOf64 hey that's from white men can't jump

  • @nerdyharry what is?

  • The dynamics in this are great. Ace song, really well written

  • omg i fing love you , your is class , you have just restored my faith in the magic of music .thank you .

  • @brendawga FAITH in the magic of music \m/ :]

  • @maxichic - Yes, well, can anyone who has heard this music really be a bad person?

  • I like their map of Manhattan but Central Park is a little too small.

  • Beautiful. I truly feel sorry for the people out there that can't appreciate music like this.

  • @emazegan Me too, me too

  • such a beautiful song. love it.

  • good music keeps being done :)

  • eat that muffin girl!

  • Gad vide hvor mange balloner de har brugt i dette video...

  • @isayah85 Vi brugte hundredvis af balloner

  • @penandpicture Fed nok. Det kan man næsten regne ud! :)

  • @isayah85 cheers

  • I want to marry her after hearing this..

  • this actually makes me feel like being a better person

  • i dont even have a sarcastic pun to say about the dislike. WHO THE FUCK COULD DISLIKE THIS?!

  • SHE BLINDED ME, WITH SCIENCE!

  • @noodles1fan That song cracks me up.

  • @humpmastajoe16 ha ha ha i was thinkin about it so i posted it

  • I just don't undertand how she isn't as popular as other bands... she's SO amazingly good.

  • weird, I used to have the highest rated comment, but it doesn't show it anymore.

  • @humpmastajoe16 at some point even the highest rated comments fade.. what was your comment about? :O

  • @MrSmileyHasABigDong I think it's on page 11 for comments. all it said was " Anyone who has heard this music and didn't like it is a bad person." It's still there and has 48 likes.

  • To Real This Is The Meaning of Music

  • Good song; good artist. Like it.

  • Putting aside all the serious conversations....

Kaki means poop in Hungarian! :D

  • Comment removed

  • Don't you hate it when you scroll down through comments that are all replies and are too bloody lazy to join in.

  • They stole the title from a brilliant film by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck called 'Das Leben der Anderen'. I think that's a cheapass thing to do as an artist...

  • @rrlloo1 ur a dumbass if u think thats a cheapass thing to do as an artist many of the greatest bands got their names from old films and alot of songs are based quotes from movies and inspiration comes from everywhere

  • @ebos89 You're not being very specific so I don't really know which artists you're referring to but in general I think it really is a cheap thing to do. ESPECIALLY in this case because the film they stole it from has abolutely NOTHING to do with this type of music or the thoughts of the artist whatsoever. Don't know if you've seen it, but you'll know what I mean if you have.

  • @rrlloo1 Sorry, I have seen the movie quite a few times and even met the director in person at the avant premiere in france and besides the whole movie being "about" the stasi he claimed it was only there to showcase the song: "the sonata of a good man" which apparently has the ability to turn any man into a good one.

So YES you are right this song has nothing to do with that movie and the name of this song has nothing to do with that song. So how exactly was any idea "stolen"?

  • @TheIonlycomment

OH yea before i forget, im a cheapass too because every single word i used and my sentence structure was used by someone else before...

DAMN PICASSO ur such a cheapass for using paint! like get ur own ideas u looser!

    just couldnt help it

  • @TheIonlycomment Incorrect comparison...

  • @TheIonlycomment It's stolen simply because the title of this crappy song is almost exactly the same as the main idea of that wonderful film. Von Donnersmarck has made this brilliant idea of his into an amazing film spending a lot of time and hard work on it. Therefore, I think it's very low to just use someone else's idea as a title for your own corny song...

  • @rrlloo1

    LOL

This song is asking a question. Whether someone who has heard it could be bad. (obviously they probably are but who cares)

the sonata of a good man was meant to change people into good people.

i still dont see how they are anywhere near the same idea, just because you made some obscure connection with a movie doesn't mean anyone stole any ideas.

  • @TheIonlycomment If you really have seen the film, you would have known that in the movie Georg Dreyman exactly says to his wife: "Can anyone who has heard this music really be a bad person?" (In german of course) And by the way, someone (I don't know who it is or whether he knows a lot about this Kaki King) told me that Kaki King says to have taken his inspiration from Das Leben der Anderen. So to me it's clear where he's got the title from... That being made clear, I still think it's cheap.

  • @rrlloo1 You're a fucking ignorant idiot. I'm pretty sure I've stolen at least 20 other people's ideas right there.

  • @dancersinthedark Haha, yeah right! Read a few comments so you know what this is all about next time before you start talking crap... Or maybe: think! Works quite well sometimes, you should try it!

  • @rrlloo1

I have seen the film, and there is no point arguing since you said it yourself they have nothing to do with each other.

  • @TheIonlycomment You already said that and I already said why it's an incorrect thought. You're starting to repeat yourself... but if you wanna go on and try to convince me it's NOT a cheapass thing what they did, go ahead...

  • @rrlloo1

why do you have to start getting angry...besides kaki king is a girl not a "they" or "him".

Nobody needs to convince you of anything, obviously you think its a "cheapass" thing to do. But judging by your incessant ranting about perhaps the only film you have seen and your hast to lash out at people I dont think your point of view on what is cheapass or not really matters anyway.

  • @TheIonlycomment Sorry if I insulted you, didn't mean to. We good again? All I said is I think it's a cheap thing that Kaki King did. At first you said it wasn't stolen, later you sort of agreed with me it was stolen and now you say I'm lashing out at people and I'm ranting incessantly about that film and therefore my opinion isn't important... untrue and illogical reasoning, but you'll learn

  • @rrlloo1

    i never agreed with you.

and no your opinion doesnt matter to me because you seem like a close minded person.

Oh and saying things like untrue and illogical reasoning on youtube is a really cheapass thing to do.

  • @TheIonlycomment Haha, you're the one that's close-minded right now...

  • @rrlloo1 no its called sarcasm

  • @TheIonlycomment you seem like you really think you're the cleverest person on earth (and I'm sure you will come up with a really clever response to this to crush me to the ground because I'm your worst enemy)

  • @rrlloo1

"Haha, yeah right! Read a few comments so you know what this is all about next time before you start talking crap... Or maybe: think! Works quite well sometimes, you should try it!"

now please refer to your comment about me thinking i was clever...

    LOL

(BTW before you answer this is me attempting to show you that you are the one who seems to be talking to people as though ur the all knowning douche.)

  • @rrlloo1 I read the whole conversation twice before I posted, just to make sure I was choosing the right words, dumbass.

  • @rrlloo1 How? its not stealing if she blatantly admits to people where the title comes from and how this song is dedicated to it. A LOT of artists have done the same thing, Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree has made it clear that the albums name "Fear of a Blank Planet" is in direct reference to "Fear of a Black Planet" from Public Enemy. Opeth named their album "Blackwater Park" after an old school obscure metal group in the 1980's. Even film makers reference other people's ideas in movies.

  • Can persons who can has heard music like to this one music not being bad to do? I think is no.

(sorru my bad english I from Russian. Well not actually Russia, but I'm from Australian and is close to Russia)

  • Fully becoming obsessed with this. The video fits nicely too.

  • Can anyone tell me the brand and model of guitar in this video?

  • Anyone could tell me what kind of tunning that she uses in this song??i'm so crazy of it.. ^^ tnx..

  • Anyone have a guitar tab for this song?

  • @aimbotnpuppy idk the tab or tuning but I found out at the end of the song when the strings join, try going between an E major shape on fret five and an a min. shape on fret four it works... idk lol.

  • Now that sounds good. Great tune.

  • Excellent vid.. a celebration of the act of sending out little balloons of happiness into the world everyday... its so simple and straightforward, why do we fail to make this a priority in our daily lives?

And no, thank you, I do NOT want to buy something I dont need. Rather, I'd like to enjoy the beauty of the world around me, myself and everything in between.

I think I'm starting to fall in love with Kaki King <3

  • kaki baught COKE

  • This video is so-so, I was expecting a little more epic considering this song is just ridiculously amazing. Kaki's given me wings thanks to this song.

  • this song is fantastic.. love it :o)

  • I dont think so..

    I hope..

    Concert in Utrecht/netherlands was great.

  • How I experience this song: 0:01 sense of depression 0:46 thing's could be getting better 1:18 not so good again 1:48 getting a bit better 2:09 calming down. 2:30 happy/sad feeling 3:00 hope 3:33 overwhelming depression to overwhelming happy/sad feeling & about to cry feeling 3:53 cue tears (sometimes), extremely happy/sad/accomplished feeling 4:49 soul is cleansed and all the bad things are being flushed out, yet still feeling a sense of despair Rinse and repeat, if necessary.
