I recently discovered I had high C. Does the plaque buildup in your arteries, caused by high C, reduce when you start eating healtier, or does this plaque remain in place for good?
LDL or "Bad" cholesterol (which actually a carrier protein) comes in two count em, two types. Type A LDL which is responsible for repairing damaged arteries by using the fat being transported within them and Type B LDL which is responsible for plaque build up. The only reason that plaque build up happens is because the type B LDL is exposed to oxidization by a damaged artery and can cause plaque to build
to tallguy2011, HDL and LDL most definetly contain cholesterol, they are triglycerides coupled with cholesterol, you are not completely wrong, there is also a protein carrier, apoprotein, as triglycerides are not soluble in plasma. Maybe you should go back to school

Is consuming 2 free range organic scrambled eggs every day for 10 years dangerous for someone who goes to the gym 4 to 5 times per week? For breakfast I eat 2 eggs, 1 slice of brown toast, 1 bowl of porridge and 1 glass of apple juice. Presumably exercising and consuming porridge every day will offset the cholesterol from the eggs?
@carlyndolphin: Interesting enough the process toast, porridge and butter used to cook the eggs are worst than the eggs themselves. If you are going to eat scamble eggs than use only organic eggs and them with coconut oil or ghee.
how am I suppose to know witch one I have the HDL or LDL ?? all I know is that at the clinic they told me I have high cholesterol I'm 27 weight 158lbs and I have 220 ??
but I feel great yes I haven't been working out for like a year, and yes I do eat lots of pizza and burgers well lots of fat. so is 220 high?? is it really bad??
@saldivarrr that is high..mine is 218 and im 19..mine should be half that...if you eat less burgers your cholesterol will go down..eat a salad..it will help lower it..
@saldivarrr: Well process foods are very bad for you. The thing is that if your TC is greater than 200, than it is most likely that you are experiencing arterial inflammation.
I am uneducated in this so please explain. LDL and HDL are just carriers not cholesterol at all. The only reason one is bad is that the protein is carrying cholesterol from the liver to the body vs to the liver to be resbsorbed.
These explinations make it very difficult to follow. They simplify it and then contradict themselves.
I found a blog with a good amount of information on cholesterol, triglyercides, blood pressure, blood sugar, etc. It has reviews and links on some good products and for one that you don't need a prescription for and that also shows proven results within 90 days. bit . ly/ 9avoq7
Do you've higher diastolic blood stress? Maybe you select to prevent getting high diastolic blood pressure, no matter what the case is, you'll discover everyday points you possibly can do. What you eat, how a lot you physical exercise, even your habits can effect your blood pressure.
it's been proven that cholesterol from food, unless it is highly processed, has no no affect on your blood cholesterol level. Another thing, according to a medical doctor, approximately 6% of all doctors in the U.S. take a nutrition course in medical school each year. Also, the nutrition course is optional. The only thing(s) they are taught in medical school are how to recognize the symptoms of a disease and how to use medication.
This is a textbook example of how the MSM bullshits us. He jumps from one point to another with no connection. HDL and LDL are lipoproteins, then 3 seconds later they are magically cholesterol. Status quo enforcing assclown, he should be on CNN more.
I reversed my diabetes and high cholesterol, I show on my page especially the rave diet vid I have on my page if you click my name on the left, You will see cancer, diabetic and heart disease patients reversing their disease with natural diet, it shows that by cleansing the body of toxins with a all vegetable diet you body will heal itsef, I love the testimonials given by real patients on my page that confess to healing themselves even when facing terminal disease
As cholesterol has been demonized for so many years we have not been able to clear the blackboard and rethink... all studies of dead people have failed to show an association between their intake of saturated fat, or their serum cholesterol, and the degree of atherosclerosis. People who avoid all saturated fat and who have low cholesterol become just as atherosclerotic as people who gorge in animal food and whose cholesterol is high.
when I shop at my local butchers I am fully aware of how the animals are reared, how they are slaughtered and how they are then cut up for sale. But you're right, a business is there to make money, and not to look out for your health, just look at statins and the pharmaceutical companies that sell them.
I think the key is moderation. Also, the are other factors to consider. People should stop maligning cholesterol by itself because it is necessary for cell membrane, steroid synthesis, etc...
What people should do probably is to watch how much we eat so that we do not end up being a beach whale.
I own the record for bad cholesterol. It's like a million or something, lol. Anyway, my "bad" cholesterol was well over 200 while the "good" didn't even show up on the test it was so low. And those damn triglicyerides (sp?) were dangerously high. So, I'm on 2 meds, one to lower the bad, one to raise the good, and fish oil pills to help lower the t's. It sux. Side effects are awful.
All cholesterol is vital. There is no such thing as "bad" cholesterol. ATHEROSCLEROSIS IS CAUSED BY POLYUNSATURATED OILS. THIS DOCTOR'S ADVISE IS KILLING PEOPLE.
Yep I totally agree with you! I have just been told about a documentary called "Fat Head" that exposes 'Ancel Keys' the founder of the 'Lipid Hypothises' so check it out if you haven't al ready :) I am trying to collect videos for my PT clients so if you have any you can recommend that would be great :)
HDL and LDL are not even Cholesterol................he needs to listen what he just said............ HDL High Density Lipoproetin...........LDL Low Density Lipoproetin...............They are Proteins.......that transport cholesterol to and from tissue.......you dumb ass.....These Doctors need to go back to school...........
@Tallguy2011 While what you are saying is correct in theory, its impossible to differentiate lipoproteins from cholesterol in blood. See cholesterol is "bonded" and "carried" through the blood. Therefore, they are referred to as one unit of cholesterol. Just like if someone driving cut you off. You wouldnt refer to him as a car. You would call him a jackass... See how even though the car is "carrying" the driver you still refer to that unit as a person bc people take precedence over the car?
@Tallguy2011 High density lipoproteins are not just proteins, or did you miss the "lipo" part of it? These are particles that contain a lipid core, an monolayer of surface lipids, and surface proteins. You are right about how they transport cholesterol though.
@Tallguy2011 HDL and LDL most definetly contain cholesterol, they are triglycerides coupled with cholesterol, you are not completely wrong, there is also a protein carrier, apoprotein, as triglycerides are not soluble in plasma. Maybe you should go back to school
@Tallguy2011 at 2:45 he said that cholesterol is transported by carriers called HDL and LDL...so he knows what he is talking about. Of course he later said that LDL is known as bad cholesterol, which means that the general publich use those acronyms to refer to the "good" and "bad" types. :)
@Tallguy2011 LDL and HDL is a complex of that made up of proteins known as apolipoproteins and diverse combinations of lipids including cholesterol.HDL means the ratio of protein to lipid is high.protein is denser than lipid.

@ortsa123 I'm not sure what the implications are in atherosclerosis, but red meat does increase the chance of developing colon cancer if I recall correctly.
My cholesterol i found out today is at 222 i dont know what to do i like burgers should i limit it to once a week ? and i eat eggs almost daily and we eat alot of canned foods can someone help me ?????????
alright mate, after you blood tests check your doctor for options, medicine is a good alternative, until then, cut out the burgers as you may develop hypercholesterolemia which is over activity of cholesterol, check for family history of this condition also, relax you will be fine. IF the burgers are fast food, they should not be eaten every week, once a month at the most
Yes, eat less burgers for sure. I am not a Doctor, but I am a fitness enthusiest. Get your protean from other sources like yougart, beans, fish, protean is a very small part of your food pyramid anyway, you do not need much of it.
He is Totally Wrong About Cholesterol.....So are Most Doctors......WE have BEEN BRAIN WASTED INTO THINKING LDL IS BAD CHOLESTEROL. LDL is Only Bad If you Have a Poor diet... Or if The LDL gets oxidized which can cause Inflammation. IF we Eat RIGHT LDL WILL FUNCTION THE RIGHT WAY...THERE IS NO SUCH THING IS GOOD OR BAD CHOLESTEROL.... WITHOUT CHOLESTEROL WE WOULD NOT EXIST.... ) CHOLESTEROL IS MANUFACTORED IN OUR LIVER....
Does poor diet cause smaller LDL particles? and How?Generally does the liver only produce the large (safe) LDL particles? I am very open minded now that I am hearing a lot about the myths of Cholesterol. Thanks in advance.
More outrageous misinformation on a vital life substance - cholesterol.
Think about it - we have been eating animals (the source of saturated fat according to Mr White Coat) for c. 3.5 million years. Let's say that translates to us having been eating animals for 24 hrs, then agriculture (large scale access to carbs) developed 4 mins ago and our consumption of sugar has gone up 20 fold in the past 5 seconds. I wonder which is the real baddie?!
I have found the most effective and (dually important), safe way to lower cholesterol, is to take a natural supplement. About 6 months ago, I found CholestProtect... The results have been impressive.
i found cholesterol on 229.. 144 is the ldl... 1st time in my life i found chol.. the thing i wanna ask.. does it has to do that i didnt sleep at all for one day when i went to do the tests? also i think i eated some chips some hours before the test...
My Mum has reduced her cholesterol, bloodpressure, blood sugar and lost weight by going on a low carb high fat/protein diet. She used to eat like the guy in this video says to, and it didn't help at all.
I too have high cholestrol , my doc told me that it because of my metabolism & diet cannot help the only way to help myself is doing alot of cardio & going with simpler diets
The ratio of LDL:HDL cholesterol is an important part of how cholesterol leads to the disease atherosclerosis.
Taking a supplement of omega 3 fish oil capsules, which contain essential fatty acids such as EPA and DHA, has been proven to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis by 1/3. It enhances your proportion of HDL, reducing the effect of said 'bad cholesterol' LDL-C.
The supplement can be taken with any medication to further lower your LDL:HDL and help maintain healthy heart and circulation.
This is a very misleading video. . .cholesterol is not taken out of your body. .it goes back to the liver and is RECYCLED!! INsulin and carbohydrate are the culprits. . .not cholesterol. . . type in cholesterol and dr. ron rosedale and get the facts. . .another question for you. . .just who says what is "normal cholesterol" levels? we have only known about it for less than a hundred years. . .eat that animal fat! Paleo diet...
I had a relative who had high cholesterol leves, he was given sterolyn after a year of use he was diagnosed with ALS yes Amiothrphic lateral sclerosis, he passed away just recently. Please do not take sterolyn read and research first....!!!!!
No tablets or pills or any of that stuff is good for your health. You only take it if it is a life or death related issue. There is almost nothing a healthy diet and exercise can't solve as far a health and well being goes! It sounds crazy but humans are actually killing themselves. We can all live a long and healthy life if we wanted to.
i have a brother who in his life time has been prescribed over twenty recalled FDA approved medications. people you are being experimented on. they get rich, you get death.
I found out I had high cholesterol & my doctor discussed the option of prescription meds, I thought, NO WAY. I know too much about the mass-marketed, poorly regulated greed mongering of Big Pharma. I don't trust those drugs or the people who make them! I have known people who have experienced numbness in their limbs, liver damage, even permanent memory loss. I have always believed in nature and in natural solutions, and I still do. Sterolyn is working for me, in a safe way that I trust.
You just said you believe in natural solutions yet you take Sterolyn?? I couldnt agree with you more though...the natural solution is always the way to go.
We naturally produce enough cholesterol, unlike carnivores.
Humans, among other herbivores, do not need to consume cholesterol while carnivores can eat comparatively large amounts without negative health effects.
this is a typical doctor talking about cholesterol. of course he failed to mention anything about the size of the LDL being a main thing to look out for. Large puffy LDL is not near the concern that small particle LDL is. And dietary cholesterol doesn't affect your cholesterol levels!
Watch a video called "Is God Stupid?"
God wouldn't put saturated fat in the meat, cholesterol in the milk and eggs, if it were going to kill us!!! The problem is what farmers are now doing to the poor animals
When you get an upper cervical specific adjustment to your atlas, it should be untwisted, unrotated because it can jump the tracks between atlas and axis vertebra beneath the foramen magnum and atlas also should to centered and level under the skull. Your arteries will begin to be unclogged and your bones will begin to remineralize. Find a practitioner in your state (upcspine) other thing it will help look up ( thespesific)
Shame the cholesterol system is homeostatic. It's made within the body by a system designed to be self-regulating so this should come as no surprise. We should be asking what perturbs normal homeostasis. Excluding cases of Familial Hypercholesterolaemia, "high" cholesterol is a symptom of dysregulation not a cause and there's no evidence "high" cholesterol. Also, whilst focusing on atherosclerosis we are neglecting to check total CHD & total mortality. Why does the myth keep getting repeated?
I'll show you how to make veins accept more blood. I'll show you how to burn cholesterol in 3 weeks...its a fun exercise and it works mine went from the 340s to the 190s in 21 days.....watch my video cure
OMG!!! Can someone please get it right!!! LDL and HDL are NOT cholesterols!!! They are PROTEIN!!!!!!!!!!!! Cholesterol is the building block of our hormones and cells. SUGAR in our and poor diet in general combined with sedentary lifestyles are the causes increased size of LDL's. The body INCREASES its production of cholesterol to try to repair the damage done by poor lifestyle choices. CHOLESTEROL isn't the baddy in the equation, but the lack of balance in the lifestyle causing the problems.
Not quite. As another pointed out, it has much to do with exercise. Do a physical job or play sports and you can have your burgers and pop. Whether diabetes, heart problems or many cancers, a lack of physical exercise is a huge factor. One can change diet and exercise and avoid the pills in many cases. Of you are one of the minority for whom that doesn't work, there's the pill to save you life if need be which isn't bad.
If your doctor simply prescribes a drug for high LDL, see another.
VEGETARIAN FISH OIL: MICROALGAE OIL, Life's Omega-3 Pearl.
VEGETARIAN FISH OIL is the new best source of omega-3 DHA and EPA. The World's Richest DHA Source is better tolerated over fish oil, lowers triglycerides and raises HDLs better and is formulated better for kids and adults, since 90% of the omega-3s held by the body are DHA. Even better, Microalgae oil is the source where fish oil omega-3 comes from. Sustainable. Learn more...
Consumption of excess refined carbs is the main cause of excess triglycerides and cholesterol, so cutting out soft drinks, cookies and such will help. Natural cholesterol is not a problem but oxidized cholesterol is the real problem. Low fat milk and powdered eggs have a lot of oxidized cholesterol and should be avoided in favor of whole fat dairy products. Avoid most commercial snacks and cookies which contain oils like corn oil that is easily oxidized. Moderate exercise is also important.
The slight reduction in heart attacks due to statins is unrelated to statin-induced lower cholesterol levels but is due to lower inflamation and TG,and higher HDL (good cholesterol). However, no study has ever shown reduced mortality from taking statins because of increased deaths from cancer and other causes. Dropout rate of statin users is very high due to bad side effects. Good diet and reasonable exercise reduce CHD risk to a greater degree than statins without the nasty side effects.
OK, first of all, heart disease has dropped 50% in the last 20 years as a result of research done by those evil pharma companies. I pose a question to you, if there were no profit incentive, who do you think would be doing this extremely expensive research?
Second it if you are going to make accusations. Check the Heart&Stroke foundation website, this government run organization has bought in, are they evil to?
Lastly, back up your facts, TNT, HPS, Prove-it, 4S, read the data then come back.
I did not use the word "evil". I simply said that statins do more harm than good. Drugs other than statins have resulted in some of the reduction in heart disease that has occured, but it is ridiculous to claim that drugs are responsible for all of the improvement. Improved medical procedures, better exercise habits and better diet have all played a part in reducing heart disease. I studied the data and have the facts. I suggest you learn about nutition and exercise.
Unfortunately, most doctors believe the disproven theories that dietary cholesterol and saturated fat increase cholesterol levels which causes increased heart disease risk. Similarly, ten years ago most doctors believed the thoroughly disproven notion that synthetic progestins used in hormone replacement theory reduced the risk of cancer, heart disease, acne and osteoporosis. It is now known that synthetic progestin increase cancerand CHD risk and many other problems.
hormone replacement drugs like synthetic progestins were left to the patient choice but heart clogging arteries have to be treated with statins that is why doctors dont take chances, what about someone having very high LDL would they leave him without treatment?
Cholesterol and triglycerides can be reduced by exercise and eliminating sugars and refined carbs from diet. More important is correction of deficiencies of n-3 fats(in fish oil)and CoQ10 which result in poor heart function. N-3 fat deficiency in mitochondrial membranes can cause hypoxia, arrhythmia and sudden death. N-3 fats reduce TG, increase HDL. CoQ10 is essential for creation of ATP, the cellular energy source. CoQ10 and N-3 fats are natural, not patented, so Drs. know little of them.
Cholesterol is something that many people have heard of but dont know much about. This video gives good info about cholesterol especially for people who are a medically challanged ;)
Good information? Nonsense. This information is baloney. Cholesterol performs many important function in the body. Only extremely high cholesterol levels, due to genetic problem, are dangerous and statin drugs have never been tested on this small group.
Natural cholesterol does not "clog arteries". When LDL cholesterol is oxidized the oxLDL causes reduced nitric oxide, the gas that relaxes arterial muscles, which results in increased free radical generation which damages cells lining blood vessels causing atherolsclerosis. Heat treated foods like dried milk solids in low/non-fat milk and dried eggs in cake mixes are high in oxLDL. Poor diet and lack of exercise result in increased free radicals, oxLDL induced cell damage, and atherosclerosis.
Understandable that you believe what you do. However, cholesterol isn't the baddie. It's inflammation caused by lifestyle imbalance like lack of exercise, too much sugar (this is the main culprit) and misinformation by drug companies and the public demanding a one-pill-does-all quick fix instead of taking ultimate responsibility for what they do with or put in their bodies.
my uncle who died month ago had cholesterol above 800 he was taking too much meds which didnt help him, he died cuz he broke his leg trying to kill a roach ! so they stopped aspirin trying to make operation for him resulted him to die after two days in ICU they said his heart was weak he was only 36.
Iam inherited this disease i have ldl 220 and hdl 36 and trig. 60 doc gave me 40 liptor i will start splitting to 20s
fuck man thats not cool sorry to hear that mate hope things work out for u man.. so how does the medication work to lower cholesterol does it simply stop the LDL-C being produced at such a concentration? or does it actually remove the shit from the walls of your arteries? i would really like to know please i have keen interest because my grandfather has a similar thing and also for my own reference if i start removing it now well happy days right? ;( again sorry to hear bout your uncle..

Olive leaf tea has been great for helping to lower my cholesterol. In 10 weeks I have had a 20% reduction in mine just from drinking the tea a couple times/day, I also have started riding my bike more. Its worth a try.
Everything this man said I read in my text book... I just got done with the chapter on Lipids so its fresh in my mind and if he's wrong then you better change the text books where we got the information from...
cuscowillawilla, why don't you look up the Glycemic Index of WHITE durum semolina pasta (which is low) and compare that to whole wheat bread or brown rice, which is higher. Then correct yourself about perpetuating the canard of "refined carbs". While whole grains can indeed have *many* advantages, being less likely to result in lower triglyceride levels is *not* necessarily one of them.
Unfortunately, people like you believe that "disproven theory".

LDL is a protein
Small LDL particles get stuck in arteries, oxidize, inflammate and cause PROBLEMS
Cholesterol drugs DO NOT clear the LDL particles, only your DIET WILL
Egg yolks for example are a very healthy source of cholesterol, yet most people are afraid of them.

Cholesterol is of 2 types., one is HDL n the other one is LDL
The LDL is the bad one. The body converts most of it to HDL but if its in excess, then it gets stuck to the arteries n veins n thats a health risk.

He must get his paycheck from Big Pharma. This scam has made them billions.
baileycc 1 year ago
I am uneducated in this so please explain. LDL and HDL are just carriers not cholesterol at all. The only reason one is bad is that the protein is carrying cholesterol from the liver to the body vs to the liver to be resbsorbed.
These explinations make it very difficult to follow. They simplify it and then contradict themselves.

it's been proven that cholesterol from food, unless it is highly processed, has no no affect on your blood cholesterol level. Another thing, according to a medical doctor, approximately 6% of all doctors in the U.S. take a nutrition course in medical school each year. Also, the nutrition course is optional. The only thing(s) they are taught in medical school are how to recognize the symptoms of a disease and how to use medication.

Just like anything else you eat you dont need to OVERDO it
Cholesterol does NOT cause Heart attack IN AND OF ITSELF,
if you have to much sugar you can die, if you have to much fat you can die,
if you have to much of allmost ANYTHING you can die,
so the concept that cholesterol is "Bad" for you is totaly WRONG
Eat whatever you like and Work out a little and you will be fine

As cholesterol has been demonized for so many years we have not been able to clear the blackboard and rethink... all studies of dead people have failed to show an association between their intake of saturated fat, or their serum cholesterol, and the degree of atherosclerosis. People who avoid all saturated fat and who have low cholesterol become just as atherosclerotic as people who gorge in animal food and whose cholesterol is high.

I think the key is moderation. Also, the are other factors to consider. People should stop maligning cholesterol by itself because it is necessary for cell membrane, steroid synthesis, etc...
What people should do probably is to watch how much we eat so that we do not end up being a beach whale.

Holls7 3 years ago
Cholesterol is the messenger. It is just a signal that you're not eating right. Am I correct?
Forsure3333 3 years ago

RathOne123 3 years ago
Consumption of excess refined carbs is the main cause of excess triglycerides and cholesterol, so cutting out soft drinks, cookies and such will help. Natural cholesterol is not a problem but oxidized cholesterol is the real problem. Low fat milk and powdered eggs have a lot of oxidized cholesterol and should be avoided in favor of whole fat dairy products. Avoid most commercial snacks and cookies which contain oils like corn oil that is easily oxidized. Moderate exercise is also important.

All this nonsense is the product of drug manufacturerers pushing statin drugs which do more harm than good.
cuscowillawilla 3 years ago
It is not nonsense?? havent you see people die of a heart attack?
luxeden 3 years ago
The slight reduction in heart attacks due to statins is unrelated to statin-induced lower cholesterol levels but is due to lower inflamation and TG,and higher HDL (good cholesterol). However, no study has ever shown reduced mortality from taking statins because of increased deaths from cancer and other causes. Dropout rate of statin users is very high due to bad side effects. Good diet and reasonable exercise reduce CHD risk to a greater degree than statins without the nasty side effects.
cuscowillawilla 3 years ago
OK, first of all, heart disease has dropped 50% in the last 20 years as a result of research done by those evil pharma companies. I pose a question to you, if there were no profit incentive, who do you think would be doing this extremely expensive research?
Second it if you are going to make accusations. Check the Heart&Stroke foundation website, this government run organization has bought in, are they evil to?
Lastly, back up your facts, TNT, HPS, Prove-it, 4S, read the data then come back.
kylebunte 3 years ago
I did not use the word "evil". I simply said that statins do more harm than good. Drugs other than statins have resulted in some of the reduction in heart disease that has occured, but it is ridiculous to claim that drugs are responsible for all of the improvement. Improved medical procedures, better exercise habits and better diet have all played a part in reducing heart disease. I studied the data and have the facts. I suggest you learn about nutition and exercise.
cuscowillawilla 3 years ago
but do doctors also believe the drug manufacturers?
Veetina 3 years ago
Unfortunately, most doctors believe the disproven theories that dietary cholesterol and saturated fat increase cholesterol levels which causes increased heart disease risk. Similarly, ten years ago most doctors believed the thoroughly disproven notion that synthetic progestins used in hormone replacement theory reduced the risk of cancer, heart disease, acne and osteoporosis. It is now known that synthetic progestin increase cancerand CHD risk and many other problems.
cuscowillawilla 3 years ago
hormone replacement drugs like synthetic progestins were left to the patient choice but heart clogging arteries have to be treated with statins that is why doctors dont take chances, what about someone having very high LDL would they leave him without treatment?
luxeden 3 years ago
Cholesterol and triglycerides can be reduced by exercise and eliminating sugars and refined carbs from diet. More important is correction of deficiencies of n-3 fats(in fish oil)and CoQ10 which result in poor heart function. N-3 fat deficiency in mitochondrial membranes can cause hypoxia, arrhythmia and sudden death. N-3 fats reduce TG, increase HDL. CoQ10 is essential for creation of ATP, the cellular energy source. CoQ10 and N-3 fats are natural, not patented, so Drs. know little of them.

cheex125 3 years ago
Good information? Nonsense. This information is baloney. Cholesterol performs many important function in the body. Only extremely high cholesterol levels, due to genetic problem, are dangerous and statin drugs have never been tested on this small group.
cuscowillawilla 3 years ago
cholesterol is artery clogging, how can you say it is not dangerous?
luxeden 3 years ago
Natural cholesterol does not "clog arteries". When LDL cholesterol is oxidized the oxLDL causes reduced nitric oxide, the gas that relaxes arterial muscles, which results in increased free radical generation which damages cells lining blood vessels causing atherolsclerosis. Heat treated foods like dried milk solids in low/non-fat milk and dried eggs in cake mixes are high in oxLDL. Poor diet and lack of exercise result in increased free radicals, oxLDL induced cell damage, and atherosclerosis.
cuscowillawilla 3 years ago
Understandable that you believe what you do. However, cholesterol isn't the baddie. It's inflammation caused by lifestyle imbalance like lack of exercise, too much sugar (this is the main culprit) and misinformation by drug companies and the public demanding a one-pill-does-all quick fix instead of taking ultimate responsibility for what they do with or put in their bodies.
Holls7 3 years ago 3
Does that mean that people who have high cholesterol can have as much fat as they like but eliminate the sugar instead?
luxeden 3 years ago
not necessarily... there are other factors involved like oxidants changing the molecular structure of LDLs making it more hazardous to the arteries...
plus there two strains of LDL molecules. One of which can cause inflammation as well.
Plus some HDL molecules don't function as well since they are of bad quality...

cuscowillawilla, why don't you look up the Glycemic Index of WHITE durum semolina pasta (which is low) and compare that to whole wheat bread or brown rice, which is higher. Then correct yourself about perpetuating the canard of "refined carbs". While whole grains can indeed have *many* advantages, being less likely to result in lower triglyceride levels is *not* necessarily one of them.
Unfortunately, people like you believe that "disproven theory".

based on clinical trials ::::
"If cholesterol causes heart disease,we would have to believe:
•cholesterol causes heart disease in men, but not in women
•cholesterol causes heart disease in Americans, but not in Canadians, and protects against heart disease in Russians
•cholesterol causes heart disease if you are between the ages of 30 and 47, but stops causing heart disease once you turn 48"
