Thanks for the review. Been meaning to buy this malt and now you've confirmed my decision. I use your judgement most on the peated/smoky malts since you enjoy those most (hence the peatluvr). You get excited and passionate over a nicely peated malt.
I warn you about getting too much in to the colour.. Don't judge the whisky by it's colour, it has nothing (or very little) to do with it's content. The reason I'm saying this, is that the vast majority of whiskies tend to contain colouring (caramel E150a) ..
Nice review btw . I like Islay malt also Bowmore ;)
I love the reviews, scotch can be an expensive hobby and every scotch is so unique, so I have been trying out some of your recommendations.
I've tried about 7 or 8 bottles of scotchs so far and a few days ago I found this Bowmore 12yr at the ol liquor store on clearance for $19.95! I snagged it up quick and I must say... it is the best scotch I've had. It kind of reminds me of Johnny Walker Black but so much more smooth.
This is my favourite whisky. I should say one of my favourites as I like most of the Islay whiskeys and the Connemara peated Irish whiskey, but I won't because this is the best, top marks!!!. Absolutely beautifull. I love my drop (dram as they call it in Scotland) of this marvelous whiskey, the balance of flavour and smoky after taste is what I love about it.
oh! man, i've been drinking islay single malt for a while, but you're making my mouth watering, i guess i should try that... i hope it's not too late to go to the store...after 12:00 am here in georgia....

Thanks, I like your feed back on your perspective of honey and citrus fruits to mine of flowers. Oh I found a Laphroaig Quarter cask
I picked up. It was just over $50 us. Have you tried the Bowmore 15 darkest?
