Wow, this song is nothing compared to so many of their other songs, you can tell Keidis was fucked on heroin whilst writing this one, it blatantly shows in the stupidity of the lyrics.

Actually, this song is very deep & meaningful if you take the time to think about the lyrics; more so even than most of their newer songs. And while the Chili Peppers have grown as a band over the years, This song is just as good & relevant as anything they have done. And the heroin, Keidis had kicked it by that time; the song "Knock Me Down" is about the arrogance that comes with money & fame on the surface, but was actually about his heroin problem.
