We don't know if Olly was offered an opportunity to meet up with Charley along the way so we ought not jump to conclusions. I don't think Eve should've inserted herself in this adventure, particularly since she had no riding skills on tarmac, much less dirt. She just doesn't fit in this scenario.
In LWR, they brought Ewan's father to surprise him and it was ok to me cos it was Ewan's star status that made everything possible. But since LWR, Charley became an icon in his own rights and it's no longer just Ewan's status that promoted LWD. Bringing only Ewan's mother and nobody from Charley's side was just simply unfair. I don't find the notion of bringing your wife on a journey offensive but the point of the trip was that they were going to go from top to bottom on motorbikes. In long way round they did that.... but here you can join and leave the convoy by plane anytime which negates from the sense that it is a real trip getting from A to B no shortcuts.
I dont get why eve did this, she even said she doesnt like bikes, infact she said she hates them.
I also dont like how the producers have made this good trip into "Ewan McGreggors family vacation"
It would have been more fair if the suprise person was someone from charlies family, afterall, they said it for themselves, Ewans the one whos been getting all the suprises, despite being the least experienced rider of the two.

For everyone whining about Ewan's mom visiting and Charlie's family not - it could very well be Charlies parents were incapable of visiting.
But, I do agree on Ev - being a loner, myself, I do feel left out when my buddy(ies) bring their wives. They steal attention and not in a positive way. It's more in a "needy" way - a "look at me for the sake of looking at me" type. Then drama starts, etc.
if you read the book 'long way round' you can clearly see that ewan and charly are pissed by the way the producer trys to make the documentary interessting (prague episode). this american style of producing a 'show' with appearing family members is just redicules...two friends riding the motorcycle around the world: there is no use to putting any more drama into the story!
Ewan already got the treat of having his wife with him, then Russ decides they should surprise him like they did in Long Way Round and have an unexpected family member turn up?
It's nice yeah, but what about poor Charley, you could tell he didn't like Eve being there in the previous part of this episode, he must feel so left out.

What guy would accompany his wife on a "once in a lifetime 7 day shopping trip to paris where all clothes, purses, shoes etc. (fashions stuff) is paid for, for her and her best friend"? No guy ever would do this. Eve hates bikes, can't ride properly even in these quite easy offroad conditions, is very out of place, etc... WTF? I don't get it what Ewan sees in her. They might have had a third trip planned and done by now if it wasn't for this. You can tell there's distance between Ewan, Charley and Claudio because of Eve the cunt coming along.

I don't find the notion of bringing your wife on a journey offensive but the point of the trip was that they were going to go from top to bottom on motorbikes. In long way round they did that.... but here you can join and leave the convoy by plane anytime which negates from the sense that it is a real trip getting from A to B no shortcuts.

I also dont like how the producers have made this good trip into "Ewan McGreggors family vacation"
It would have been more fair if the suprise person was someone from charlies family, afterall, they said it for themselves, Ewans the one whos been getting all the suprises, despite being the least experienced rider of the two.
I hope their third trip doesnt have this kind of baggage.

For everyone whining about Ewan's mom visiting and Charlie's family not - it could very well be Charlies parents were incapable of visiting.
But, I do agree on Ev - being a loner, myself, I do feel left out when my buddy(ies) bring their wives. They steal attention and not in a positive way. It's more in a "needy" way - a "look at me for the sake of looking at me" type. Then drama starts, etc.

if you read the book 'long way round' you can clearly see that ewan and charly are pissed by the way the producer trys to make the documentary interessting (prague episode). this american style of producing a 'show' with appearing family members is just redicules...two friends riding the motorcycle around the world: there is no use to putting any more drama into the story!

It's nice yeah, but what about poor Charley, you could tell he didn't like Eve being there in the previous part of this episode, he must feel so left out.
Charley wants it to be just him and Ewan, and he'll stick by that in the next trip, i'm sure of it. Gotta give it to him, for keeping his chin up, he's a top bloke.
