Hits muscle semi stretch position. Ironman mag calls them x reps. Usually done at end of set to keep tension on muscle, but like Jason does here U can do X- only sets too.
lol hilarious title. But this is actually a pretty decent range of motion for this guy. You seen him with the one-arm tricep pushdowns? THAT was some serious 1/4 reps
have yall noticed how gymnasts who train rings are JACKED too thats cuz they use constant tension to build actual STRENGTH and then size comes with that obviously you cant curl 145 dumbells but if you 1/4 rep em you can pull off a lot more tension using the same weight or do what gymnasts do do a handstand against a wall after a workout for 15 minutes you aint reppin shit but you sure as hell feel it
Jason Huh is friggin awesome - i do 1/4 reps like him for three reasons.
1) I sometimes wanna feel the weight even though I can't completely do it
2) I sometimes I do them at the end of my sets, cuz i'm already burned out, and pumping extra blood with heavy weight sometimes do the trick of completely destroying (in the good way) my back
3) I sometimes do them cuz on a particular day, full range motion causes my arms to pull instead of my back. You dont want to use too much arm during back
These short range of motion reps really do put greater stress on your muscles, I do them myself (No I dont look like Jason) but still they are far superiour to common shitty full ROM movements.
I'm 13 ONLY, a real FUCKING NATURAL, no dope of any kind to increase performance, and I still beat all these PUSSIES! They probably don't care due to a deficit in mental cognition and ability, but I'd OWN all their asses in competitions because I WORK, not ROID!
@xXKomaXx1234 i workout in the gym that he workout his legs for, and yes in fact he does quarter reps for his legs as well, i've seen him put on 5 plates on each side, and get his ass all the way to the ground and quarter rep that out
@Lifeguard102 this technique are partial reps, isolation would be butterfly reverse and constant pressure is possible with cables... partial reps are used for training in a ROM, where you're in an biomechanical advantage
People should really just try this before they hate on it. Yes he is still working his lats, their is still extension of the shoulder and scapular retraction. He is a pro bodybuilder, most likely you or I will never be a pro bodybuilder. Learn from him instead of hate on him.
johnny is a idiot. but jason, regardless of your success these 1/4th reps looks like your loading your biceps and shoulders waaay more than your back. Maybe that's what your going for, idk.
@flapersonaltrainer Not really.I did a back workout yesterday doing 1/4 reps like Jason and I didn't get the pump I used to get in my biceps and forearms.
@GeorgiTheAnimal of course you will because your lats should be flexed the entire time so the load on the lats will work them. i was just pointing out the minimal rom to the back. (and no i wont go pro like that to all the people out there riding jasons d.)
@johnnybravo937 sure. and 8 meals a day, and hours of cardio, and hours of training, and a shit load of dedication and sacrifice and supplements...but the rest is all drugs right?

@xXKomaXx1234 He does full ROM ATG squats, and full ROM for all of his leg exercises. There's no shortcuts with legs.

Gotcha brother . You're right!
You def do the majority of the work with the Target Muscle on Partials.
Limits the biceps and focuses on the meat! Arrrrr!

guys this is called Isolation.
It keeps constant pressure on the target muscle.
When you try this you will see its very effective.
