So once you have it set up ,will it automatically back up files everytime it's plugged in ? How about password protection ?

@1misanthropist No, and no. You would need additional software for that. Also, the drive came formatted as NTFS but, since I'm on a Mac, I had to reformat it. It's a very simple and easy procedure, however.

Quick update: the drive works great, but is, understandably, a bit slow with the USB 2.0 interface.
