If they made the Maxima rear or AWD it would be every bit as good as the IS350, but for 10 grand less. I can deal with it. The CVT gets rid of almost all torque stear and like I said for a daily driver it goes whereever you need it to.
I just got the 2009 Maxima, and my wife drives the G37. I bought the maxima for the daily driver and for the kids, but on weekends its all the G37. Both are great cars, and for 349 a month you can't beat the maxima, my wife pays 500 for the Infiniti. Though anyone looks good in the 37.

I looked at buying a G37 but much preferred the Maxima inside. I have had 3 Altimas, a 2005 Maxima, a Murano and a G35. This is by far the best Nissan I have ever driven (and I used to work for Nissan corporate hence all the Nissan cars!) My Maxima rocks!! :oD
the paddles are very fast and responsive, if u havent gotten the car yet i would consider checking out a g37 sedan instead, i have both sedans and i like the G much more even though the maxima has more room and slightly better mileage (with my driving, 22 vs 18mpg mixed driving)

My Max doesnt have the Sport pack which i heard has tighter steering, and with the floaty stock steering and the apparent mass of the car when driving, i wouldnt even test out the handling very much. Never driven the IS but it is a Lexus so i'll just assume the Maxima handles better
i hear that, but if you fully load a g37 then it definitely goes past 40k, my 08 g35x cost me just over 42k, but i got my maxima for just under 33k...i love the maxima, but i just dont like the way it drives, it feels too big, especially when going full throttle..you feel like a chauffeur with it, g37 definitely the better car

Great car...just got one in dark gray with sports package...incredibly fast but you have to get used to CVT. I let wife drive it a few days ago and, of course, she got a speeding ticket (first words from officer..."Nice car, did you just get it?). Did you end up getting it? if you did, enjoy...if you didn't...GET IT! Their slogan should be LUST AT FIRST DRIVE.
The only thing I don't like about the car, is that in Manual mode, it doesn't let you redline it, it uphifts by itself, unlike the mitsubishi evo x. but im still thinking of buying it about 80% chance...
