Mic:

You cant just use an small condensator-mic from a PC-headset. It must be a dynamic mic because of the sound pressure. A ordinary cheap song-mic (karaoke) will do (size as a banana..)

Wind noise:

I use a stomach belt with a room for the mic. I put the mic inside, zips it and turn it around so the room is behind me, on my back. The cord goes forward to the camera =no wind noise
