@mati454650 Thank you. He's a liar, a Hannibal Lector esq. manipulator, and not to mention a murder. The part I hate most about the series isn't the LSD ending, its the fact that Ben's stomach isn't ripped out and shown to him as he dies a slow an painful death.

Ben was a great character but John Locke is the most incredible tv character of all time, hes just so damn cool at times, yet hes also vulnerable and insecure. A little bit of john locke exists in all of us.

I guess those saying Locke should of hung himself are forgetting: Locke was a candidate, meaning he can't kill himself. Think back to when Michael tried so many times. If Ben was even a minute later than he was, he would of found Locke surprised that he was unable to kill himself, and Locke would of then been able to recruit the rest of the Oceanic 6 back to the island.

he was jealous of locke, locke was to be the new ben, leader of the others. ben didnt want john to go back to the island and take his place. all ben wanted was to get back to the island and get his position of power back. he needed info from locke, so thats why he stopped locke from hanging his self. and then killed him after he got the eloise and jin info.

I still can't believe that they killed John. He really was the heart and soul of the show. He was the most interesting character by far. I don't understand why they set him up to be the protector of the island just to off him like that. I mean why show the island heal him and save his life so many times if he wasn't more important? Kind of a waste. I guess they are trying to say that his purpose was to help Jack see the truth of the island or something. Whatever.

Ben was an interesting character and was portrayed by Michael Emerson brilliantly. My only complain about him is that he was one of the more inconsistent characters on the show. Some times he would be the bad guy then change his mind and be a good guy, then goes back to the bad guy. Like in the last season when they were setting up that he was seeking redemption for all the terrible things that he'd done and then suddenly he joins Smokey to try to kill everyone so he could get the island.

@mikemwp Well, his frequent side switching and "inconsistancy" is all intentional. Ben was most known for his mastery of manipulation. Everything he does he does so that he can survive. In the last season, he joined The Man in Black because if he didn't he knew he'd useless to him and would be killed. He was a good guy in the end.

Funny, didn't think I'd forgive him after killing Locke.

how is this a good scene? this is such a forced twist ending. it would be too easy for Locke to just hang himself, so they throw Ben in there for no reason. sure if Ben needed to pump him for information, but what does he actually learn? that Jin is alive and Hawking is in LA. so what? Jin isn't very important and Ben knew about Hawking. so prob the most important character in the show dies the most stupid death imaginable. for nothing. it would have been better if he had actually hung himself

ben and locke are my 2 favorite actors even though ben strangled locke i couldn't stop watching it over and over and over again because of the incredible acting!!!! ben did have a good reason for killing locke (to get everyone back) and he needed the info that locke had......to bad locke isn't the same anymore though....but BEN rox even though he strangled my other fave character.... he will be good in the end!!! *i hope* lol

I can't wait to see his song and dance. I can hear it now, "I HAD to kill you John. It was the only way!" Mr. Gullible will fall for it hook line and sinker. But hey, there had to be a reason for him to strangle Locke. The same result would have happened either way. Suicide would have meant that John gave up on his mission. He had to have his faith before he died. Ben showed up right at the convenient time? Did the island send him?
