When he said that it had upset / scared the little girl who was so shy by picking her up onto the stage ... a couple of women called out "scare me" = pick me up on stage and cuddle me ... that is why there was laughter.

He looks fantastic in this clip! And so genuinely concerned for the little girl. At one point, just before getting her off the stage, he has a look that shows he really likes kids. This looks like it was a fantastic concert.
