  • @TheMustangsally75 It's good to see that your country's gun culture is alive and well,

    Have you shot anyone lately?

  • @clogwog1

I must set the record straight. I am a 2nd generation European. I live in SE Michigan. Have ALOT of friends with southern/Hillbilly heritage. Know how they teach the three "R's" in school? Readin', Ritin', & Rytmetic? Well in the south, back-in-the-day, they taught the 3 I's. Intoxication, Intercourse, & I-75 North! HA!!!

  • @clogwog1 -- Up your, Dummy

  • GEEZ!!! How depressing! Good song, but alot of her songs are like, "Bottle of wine, & Patsy Cline"! YIKES!!!

  • i find the way her face looks when she's singing wierd, its so addicting to just stare at : /

  • @cedric9966 -- A statement from genuine white trash

  • what a greatvoice 4 smallgirl 1 of my favorite singer 4 years

  • That quiver in her voice just melts you away! We only get a voice like that once in a generation. My mom, and older sisters used to play her records a lot as I was growing up. Loved her then, and still do over 40 years later.

  • An original Greek tune in a very good interpretation ! Well done Brenda !

  • Get a grip. I loved Brenda Lee. She could hit notes no one else could. Awesome! Can any of you imagine, what she did? She sang her heart out. That much I got. She's a treasure of our lives. She could break glass, notes she hit.

  • I never feel alone if I have songs from Brenda.

  • The 21st #1 song on Billboard's newly formed chart that is now known as the Adult Contemporary charts.

  • Brenda and Timi Yuro competed during their popular years, and the world was a better place for it.

  • I AM JOY

  • I would have loved to see her sing valerie!! :)

  • what a great voice she has

  • What a voice

  • My favorite during my high school years. Thanks goodness, there is You Tube!

  • amazing!!! un tesoro para la actualidad

  • Amazing the power she could get out of her 4'9" frame.

    Little Miss Dynamite indeed.

  • At 32-33 into her song she staggers me with her deep look into the camera..

  • whoa now thats a singer

  • whoa

  • doesn't she have a likeness (voice and looks) to the french singer Edith Piaff?

  • @CentinelThe Brenda has admitted in her biography she was influenced by Edith Piaff. Singing this song shows how she copied Edith's style.

  • @beefycajun If you Watch Brenda as A "child" singing, she has all the same "manerisms" now, an adult, as She did then as a child. I am thinkiing that as she got older, she might have copied or been influenced by Ms Piaff . I didn't know what you wrote. Interesting.

  • @beefycajun it is an other thing to be influenced by and an other to copy someone..

  • She is out of this world!

  • what a voice!!1

  • what year was this released?

  • @SuperNovember28, I believe it was 1962.

  • Love Brenda Lee's music, I saw her six yrs ago in Sam's club at the meatball sampling table, she just had arm surgery and she was gracious enough to let me hug her and tell her how much I loved her voice. thanks Brenda......

  • There is a song that I remember by Brenda Lee the name was I WISH I COULD BE ANYBODY BUT ME.If anyone have this song could you please post it. A

    What a great song.

I just listened to Timi Yuro do this Fantastic Song.

    Both Recordings are

  • They didnt call her Little Miss Dynamite for nothing... she was the best of the best

  • i seem to remember hearing this song on the radio about the time JFK met his terrible fate in Dallas Tx..but i suppose it came out before that time...i suppose it stuck in my mind...at the time..it sort of fit the way most of us felt at the time..i was only sixteen, i was afraid, i left school, and gather at home with my family i look at my parents for answers and they had none...it was one of the few times i heard my father curse " those bastards" he said...those bastards...

  • long live Manos!!!

  • @LadoDELL Nothing Against you, Love the song because she sings what I feel........ Deep inside.. (if you like it so much maybe we should meet n person one of these days.......)

  • Everlasting, one of the most beautiful long songs..

  • when i was young this kind singers that were singing connie francis and branda lee and know they were stars that could sing and they are only one that play one you tube

  • You know...I just listened to Connie Francis a few minutes ago, and now I'm listening to Brenda Lee. They just don't make them like this anymore. It's sad but true.

  • Nowadays the word 'star' is often used to refer to singers who are simply not in Brenda's class. Many all sound the same. Truly great singers like Brenda or Shirley Bassey are instantly recognisable when their music is played. Brenda is a gift from above.

  • This must be one of the most heart-wrenching ballads ever made. Brenda was pure class.

  • Isn't she something!!!!

  • I was SO in love with Brenda when I was in high school, and still am. She's still performing, and she still has "it". One of the all time greats.

  • DOES ANYONE ON YOUTUBE HAVE A VIDEO OF BRENDA ACTUALLY SINGING THE 'ROCK AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE' SONG "WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER? I'VE SEARCHED ALMOST EVERYWHERE AND HAVE YET TO FIND IT. THANKS.

  • brenda is amazing . she is an angel from heaven. i miss her very much. thank you for touching my heart brenda.

  • Why can't we have singers llike this? Kids today are cheated. You can actually understand the words and Brenda is dressed like a performer should.

  • My brother played Brenda when he came back from Vietnam I`ve loved her ever since

  • respect to the greek music composer: manos xatzidakis

  • @MrSpsm Viva Grecia!!

  • BIG Manos Hadjidakis...Was from my city Xanthi Greece!

  • Me too, to my wonderful Fred, I will miss you always!!

  • This is dedicated to my late Husband Dominick

  • perhaps the best pop singer in modern history...way better than Aretha,Whitney and lots more

  • I really love her songs.

  • Manos Hadjidakis music...!!...amazing greek composer..!!

  • I hang on to her every word.....just beautiful.....what else can I say?

  • She is the greatest....she can pull emotion out of your heart

  • Brenda defines the words 'Staying Power". She still performs great at her shows!

  • Want to repeat what I wrote on here over a year ago: I read Brenda's autobiography and she came from destitute conditions in Georgia, no bathroom or any plumbing in a miserable trailer. She had to appeal to the courts to release some of her earnings since she was so young. Then her family and managers were devastated when she secretly married...since they were afraid of losing their meal ticket.

She was and is still an amazing talent and a beautiful person.

  • This was the first song that I learned as a little girl. I would sing along with Brenda on the 45 with a pretend microphone. As is turned out, I became a professional singer but out of all the songs I've learned and performed this one and the way Brenda sang it is still the closet to my heart.

  • hun er super god

  • Time passes, that's a fact, but why let super good things of the past go forsaken. Why not edit certain great singers of a few decades ago? All parties involved would certainly profit in more than one ($) way!

  • Ah the 60s/70s had the best female singers in the UK and the USA Loved Brenda Lee as much as the UK girls

  • What an amazing voice. AND a good performer! A lot of old-time videos of other performers (on old TV shows, I'm guessing), they don't seem to emote that much on screen. SHE actually looks right through the screen and rips your heart out with her voice. Wonderful.

  • Memories of the skating rink every Friday night ... good times! Thanks for posting

  • i first heard brenda lee when my mother use to play and sing her songs and i have always loved singing her songs, the lyrics are great and they also remind me of happy memories of my mother

  • That rock group sure didn't use the lyric "Brenda Lee's comin' on strong" for nothing!

  • Wonder where American Idol would be now if Brenda Lee sang...?

  • this really takes me back...love it

  • A 17 year old with the poise, self assurance, and maturity of a 40 year old.

They don't make 'em like that anymore. The best voice of any teenager ever.

  • @BRUC2016 I agree! What a one-in-a million voice! What a great singer Brenda Lee IS.

  • The little lady with a big voice, love it ..its so strong

  • This song was played at our local dance hall Stevenage UK early 1960's I had just entered my fifteenth year and was falling in love with a girl a little older than me.I never had the courage to ask her to dance.I regret that to this day..... Special memories.

  • Is this from 1962? The hairstyle and dress looks from about that year. A tiny girl with a dynamite talent- love her!

  • music from the heart

  • Along with Connie Francis,Brenda was the female voice of the '60s.

  • Incredible voice and so beautifull of face.

  • CLASSIC FROM LITTLE BRENDA....GREAT SONG

  • One of the greatest pop songs of all time. Very moving.

  • Dam this song sound so so good!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brenda Lee was a great singer! Music never dies!

"All alone am I" composed in 1962 by the great Greek composer Manos Chatzidakis (English: Manos Hadjidakis 1925-1994)

  • class, beauty, talent-they don't make them like this anymore.

  • This is going back a "bunch" of years, but I first heard her on "The Perry Como Show," where I really learned to fall in love with her singing. Her voice is not only powerful, but also filled with feeling and emotion. She was a favorite of mine back in the 1960s, my high school days, graduating in 1963. Thanks for sharing, BIRDIE29.

  • This little girl could sing up a storm and tear your heart out!!!!!

  • All alone am I ever since your goodbye All alone with just a beat of my heart People all around but I don't hear a sound Just the lonely beating of my heart No other voice can say the words My heart must hear to ever sing again The words you used to whisper low No other love can ever bring again. All alone am I ever since your goodbye All alone with just a beat of my heart People all around but I don't hear a sound Just the lonely beating of my heart
  • The Scene: It's Sunday Jan 13, 1963 at Miami Beach Auditorium. Live TV going out to the nation. A young singer, 18 years old, is nervous because her idol, the legendary Sophie Tucker, has just sung. The youngster steps up to the plate and.... knocks it completely out of the park! A Home Run, a Grand Slam, a tape measure blast they will still talk about on YouTube fifty years later. How can someone that small hit it that far?

(You'll have to excuse the silly sports analogy)

  • We used to call her Little Miss Dynamite back in the 60s. Even with her spike heels and bouffant, she was still a tiny, tiny girl with a humungous voice. Love her.

  • and the orginal...

"Jenny Karezi - Min ton rotas ton ourano"

  • From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"All Alone Am I" is the title of a song from 1962 (see 1962 in music) by the American singer Brenda Lee. The music was originally composed by the Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis and recorded by Tzeni Karezi for the soundtrack of the film To nisi ton genneon (The Island of the Brave). Later, a new version of the song appeared as the title track on one of Lee's albums'.
