  • A genius for irony on a scale with the greatest American wits--oh, plus he can play guitar pretty good, too. Thank you for posting these.

  • what's the secon song from 7:20 on?

  • You'll probably recognize this melody...if I play it. LOL. But seriously he's like the greatest 12 string player alive.

  • Great stuff! Thanks for posting.

  • "brain of the purple mountain is one of the more technical tunes that exhibits the 12 strings capabilities

  • thanks - more - more

  • Leroy Andersen: Boston Pops, with Arthur Feidler, have a great side featuring his music. It's on a ten record Readers' Digest Boston Pops collection from the late 60's.

  • what a nice guy for doing this in a free venue.

    Gotta love Kottke.

  • yeeeaah he mantioned the repabahn ... xD hamburg ... its my home town ^^

  • Awesome awesome awesome. Thank you so much!! Leo is incredible. Great videos.

  • All Kottke Fans owe carpethead a lot of gratitude ..this is great footage of Leo who lets face it is in the twilight of his career so any footage is invaluable.

  • Love this, especially like the video with the guy on the ladder, perfect for leo Kottke's sense of humor

  • Thanks for putting this on dude!!!!

I LOVE this guys free flowing style. The tunes just spill out from his fingers!!

    ****watches in amazement****

  • Thanks for posting all these. Much appreciated. But it's hard to fathom all the background noise - it sounds like he's playing at a kindergarten. What's he doing playing a venue such as this?

  • It was a family outdoor concert at a park, and free of charge, so entire familes and thier 2 year olds came. Everybody sat on the ground with thier picnic cloths and ate dinner at the same time. I think there was few people who came only interested in listening to him (me being one).

  • God, Leo Kottke is amazing.

I still love his stuff like "Brain of the Purple Mountain" or "Cripple Creek" the best, but everything he plays is golden.
