Leroy Andersen: Boston Pops, with Arthur Feidler, have a great side featuring his music. It's on a ten record Readers' Digest Boston Pops collection from the late 60's.
All Kottke Fans owe carpethead a lot of gratitude ..this is great footage of Leo who lets face it is in the twilight of his career so any footage is invaluable.
Thanks for posting all these. Much appreciated. But it's hard to fathom all the background noise - it sounds like he's playing at a kindergarten. What's he doing playing a venue such as this?
It was a family outdoor concert at a park, and free of charge, so entire familes and thier 2 year olds came. Everybody sat on the ground with thier picnic cloths and ate dinner at the same time. I think there was few people who came only interested in listening to him (me being one).
A genius for irony on a scale with the greatest American wits--oh, plus he can play guitar pretty good, too. Thank you for posting these.

You'll probably recognize this melody...if I play it. LOL. But seriously he's like the greatest 12 string player alive.

God, Leo Kottke is amazing.
I still love his stuff like "Brain of the Purple Mountain" or "Cripple Creek" the best, but everything he plays is golden.
