  • So this does the same thing as Aero Snap?

  • I'm pretty sure this is only windows.... It should specify this.

  • @SquishyShaughn mac users usually use safari

  • @member186 obviously not since im using chrome :P and may people i know use chrome.

  • you need to have the chrome window not at full size. Then when you drag a tab to the right, you'll see the two side by side windows show up, drop your tab on that and it will make them side by side

  • Google Chrome 8.0.552.224 (Official Build 68599)

    Ubuntu Linux 10.4

Doesn't support this feature. Have you got a similar problem?

  • So this doesnt work on mac?

  • This feature does not work for me. It is the whole reason I installed Chrome. Maybe you could make the video a little longer than 5 SECONDS so we could get a better idea what you are doing. Right now I am totally unimpressed with Chrome.

  • Does this work in Linux? I don't think so

  • how!? i have chrome, it is updated. how do i turn this feature on?

  • Or just use xmonad

  • Great tip :-)

  • ryytr5yhhu

  • I have problems with changing the order of the tabs. One of the fetures of GC is that you can change the order of the tabs by simply draging them on the top of the screen, but every time i try to do that the tab just pops out as a separate window and I can't put it back in the tab bar. Has anyone had a problem like that?

  • wat can say...jus aim & try to drag d window & keep it nxt to the one u want it to be with !

    AIM !

  • I'm not that stupid to miss every time i try to drag the window :S

It turns out the error was in my sistem. I reinstalled Windows and now it works fine =)

  • Just like windows 7.

  • So your telling me if you add 100 Add Ons to FF it will be as fast and as responsive exactly how it was when you first installed it?

  • Of course it will bloat.

Make a fresh install of firefox with no add ons.

    Get used to that speed.

Then start download many add ons.

It won't be as fast and responsive as before.

    Thats what I'm saying.

  • No shit. Same thing happens when you download a bunch of programs on your OS.

  • firefox rules

  • I'm sure you can. But is nice to have that implemented from the start instead of having another add on installed and bloating the browser.

  • What's easier?

    1. Going to a the desktop or start menu and opening another window, then typing in the link, then sizing the 2 windows evenly

    or

    2. Dragging out the tab and let the browser do all the work of opening the window and sizing them.

  • Someone needs to tell me how this is useful.

  • This is helpful when you need to compare two or more websites at a time which both list a lot of information. Switching between tabs/windows works as well but this is to make it faster and easier on the eyes.

  • Ah,I see,makes sense.

    Thanks.

  • also as a web developer it's nice to see the changes you've made right next to each other to compare which one you should use.

  • I use this feature all the time on my 24 inch monitor. I love it!

  • Go! Go Google Chrome! ;-)

  • chrome is fast. Just needs more features and options. Firefox rules for add ons

  • If you are used to Firefox, Chrome does not cut it yet. Installed Chrome to check it out, but was shocked that you can not even install a Google bar. Ironically, if you search a Google bar for Chrome, it leads you to Firefox's Google bar.

Uninstalled it on the spot. Might try it again if it supports the google bar feature.

  • It doesn't have extension or plugin support, boy genius. That's why it opens 2X AS FAST AS FIREFOX.

  • more like 10 times

  • It does have plugin support and what good are extensions if they slow down the browser?

  • Well you can use the address bar as a google bar

  • yup thts the best part !

  • @afrinux LOL that you didn't know that the address bar IS the google bar

  • @afrinux LOL I love ill informed people who think they know what they're talking about. When you installed Google Chrome did you not read even the first thing about it? :L You just sound a bit moronic...

  • i've been using chrome for a while. its a lot better that mozilla imo

  • im using it too :D it rocks

  • While this is the beta, why doesn't the 'developer' stream version do this?

  • But here it is in Chrome. Without the add-on. Hmm. And that's just extensions, asshat. Speed comparisons, across the board, by every tech review, are factually in favor of Chrome, no argument.

You can have your lube back, you know-nothing nimrod.

  • Chrome FTW!

  • Why couldn't they just feature the video and instead added nonexistent views such that it would show up on the most view list? I find that a bit indulging even if they own youtube, it's just not the way google advertises itself

  • Great moment caught on camera. =D Thank God for youtube in which we can upload all of our crazy videos like this. haha

  • This feature doesn't seem to work for me, do I need the newest version yet?

  • Not quite sure about the usefulness of this feature, anyway great speed and stability on older hardware (hp tc1100).

    Can't wait for extensions!

  • doesnt work as well as it should, Windows 7 does this better native

  • Wooooooooooooooooooooooow

  • There's just nothing Wooooooooooooow about Chrome.

I just hate the underlined 'link'.

  • cool

  • Why can't we do this inside of the browser?

  • just Installed the new version but this side by side view doesn't work.

  • hello

  • I love this feature. But dragging a tab to the top doesn't make sense. It should resize to take up the top half, not maximize it.
