I'd have to say that I like this version better than the Wrath of the Tyrant version. WotT version although is much more raw sounding, this one is much more a full song and just sounds much better in quality. anyone agree?

what black metal has become is of no consequence. the revolution these bands perpetrated changed music forever. prior to first hearing emperor/enslaved split i had heard every kind of music and metal, and nothing sounded like this. it was totaly different. this is the true genius of these early bands. originality of message and of music. now off course everything has turned to shit. i cant listen to any bm after 1994 with few exceptions

Wrath of the Tyrant is not on the As the Shadows Rise EP. But, this release sounds exactly the same as the self titled EP, which does have Wrath of the Tyrant. So it would probably have sounded the same.

If you but the Self Tittled EP/Hordanes Land split together with the As the Shadows rise EP/True Kings of Norway split, you have a full album with a consistant sound.
