If we are honest and sensible we must see the advantages we have gotten from mass oil production. But oil is now the new coal, it is dirty and does not need to be our main energy supplier. The technology exists for humanity to give up oil as an energy source. I think we can still use oil for things such as plastic, tablets, dvds, ink etc but our civilization doesnt need to depend on it.
