VERY BAD FILM. Too much conflict all the time, sadness, and a bad flavor until the end. Rent it, don't buy it on iTunes. That's why iTunes only sells the film and doesn't give it for rent. Because is HORRIBLE! Some good ideas, but 99% bad feelings.

I was SO looking forward to seeing this film but OH MY GOD WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! The main kid in it is just a bratty cunt. The voices are shit and should sound more like creatures or monsters and not so much like "Noo Yoikas". And the film itself, while looking beautiful, is SO BORING! It is a little dark, but not too much. I think a lot of kids films capture children's optimism and happiness very well. This one was more of a look at kid's 'darker' side when they have to deal with adult problems or growing up in the world. However, as an adult, I thought it was great. But, my 10 year old niece was thoroughly confused. The message was a little beyond her years.

This was a beautiful looking film, really. This trailer was one of the best I've ever seen for a movie. But the actual film itself was so ridiculously boring. It was a shame really, I REALLY REALLY wanted to like this one. I just had no clue what exactly was going on the whole time. There was plot to it. At all, really. I'm all for a movie that's just filled with fun hi jinx among friends, but there was nothing fun at all about this. A shame, really. I loved this book and still do.

I chose to do an analysis of this film for my english class because I absolutely loved it! I've heard so many people say how crappy and stupid it is, but I couldn't disagree more! It's an incredibly interesting look into the imaginative mind of a child...goes above and beyond transferring the message of Sendak's amazing book onto the big screen.

Bottom line: I'm wild about this movie! =]

This was one of the saddest movies I ever saw in my life. I never wanna see this movie ever again. Movie brought up alot of emotional themes from a childs perspective, such as single parent, hope, anger, fleeing, and the most important being loved. This movie knocked down the Gates of Hades in my head and it has me reflecting on my past child hood and on current youths of today and the problems they go through. This movie is about childhood and is not a childrens story. Kids wont like this!

I thought it was Perfect for what it was, but reflecting upon the impotence of childhood is quite depressing.

This movie does remind me of why I'm happy to be an adult. I enjoyed my youth but I certainly don't miss it, if you know what I mean.

Dependency and vulnerability were never ideas I welcomed. I enjoy being master of my own fate.

All in all depressing movie not one second of happiness or love, I'm not saying I expected this super happy little kids movie with happy endings but it seemed to drag on and my father got extremely depressed, reminded him of a bunch of hippies doing drugs, I think those monsters were on a drug trip to be honest hahaha, personal opinion, just didn't like it. It was corny too. Soundtrack was the only thing I did like.

Both of my girlfriend's kids loved this movie. And so did I. Reminds you of the rollercoaster ride of being a kid. The psychological profile of a child, combined with the INCREDIBLE cinematography and art direction made this, in my opinion, entirely worthy of Sendak's nearly unfilmable classic. May become an all time favorite of mine. Where's MY wolf suit?
