if you would have cleared the PRAM on both macs and then powered them it would be a eal test. the wjite mac took time to chime because PRAM was not cleared. looking closely, the white mac won the race if you take that in to consideration. i love my white MB 13!!!

I haven't seen a PC freeze since Windows XP came out. If you get blue screens it's because some component in your computer is broken, overheating or you've downloaded drivers from some shady site. Windows 7 is kicking ass since it came out and has been praised by everybody.

For the average user like me macs are a million times better and easier to use than any pc. That might be just me but why do i get the feeling im not the only one.
Hmmm... my 3 year old Dell with a 2.1Ghz processor and 250Gb hdd @ 5400rpm starts up faster using Ubuntu (28 seconds)... oh, and no virus worries, full compatibility with Microsoft office, looks amazing, fast and responsive from the word go, workspaces, and I can play a fair amount of Windows games (at slightly lower FPS). Best of all? The OS is updated every 6 months & it's free as well as open source! Don't worry though, I like macs too, they're great for build quality and just lookin amazing!

well Ive been a life long pc guy. from my first 286 desktop to my current home build gaming rig i7 860 quad core over clocked @ 4.21 ghz. i am fed up with all the lag, system slowing down, excessive pop ups, and lastily difficult in insataling drivers and updating drivers. Now I purchased my first Mac Book Pro used ofcourse late 2009 edition. and let me tell you how much i am impressed with the way this machine runs fast and flawlessly. @WildxLemon not true, my custom pc that i built 2 years ago with a 500 gb solid state hdd and 4 gb of ram runing win. 7 and only an intel 2 core duo processor boots up in 12 seconds flat compared to the 33 that my 2 day old macbook pro i just purchased fully loaded with 8 gb of ram, intel core i7 processor, and a 500 gb sata drive..
If you wan't proof i'll even make a vid and show the recipt where i just purchased it brand new on Sat May 7 2011.
@canthony1019 Ok firstly, there's no such thing as a solid state hdd... HDD means hard disk drive while SSD means Solid State Drive.. They are different things.. And obviously it would be faster.... an SSD has a much greater read/write speed than the 500 GB HDD.... actually it's around 4 to 5 times faster

i got a macbook (A1357, 2.6ghz, 2gig RAM, 200g hard drive)
for the start of high school in australia, whilst at school and connected to the school network my macbook takes about 10secs to start up and on my home network it takes about 40secs.
Don't know why, it isn't set to boot of the network.
Wowthat Macbook Pro took a long time to boot up. I have late 2009 model, however, the specs are a little better; nonetheless it takes under 17 seconds and still maintains this speed!
Anyways to the PC losers who think the graphics cards suck, specs suck etc. you have to take into account that these computers are engineered to get way more out of their components. I used to spend endless amounts of money on replacing PC's...def. overstatements with regard to their specs vs. the mac's.
No they are not =/ Macs use the same hardware PC's do.. not that I don't like macs.. just saying if you had a laptop with the exact same specs as a macbook you could even install OSX on it..
PC's are fine.. But PC People are dumb enough to say Mac's Graphic Cards suck. They're not meant for gaming obviously, and it's to those who play games are their PCs..
I can't get over how awful the macbooks graphics card is, it's also a bit thick and flimsy. Overall, wouldn't say it's a great computer. It's actually pretty crazy apple charged 1,600 for it. The aluminum macbook is just so much better.

@WildxLemon not true, my custom pc that i built 2 years ago with a 500 gb solid state hdd and 4 gb of ram runing win. 7 and only an intel 2 core duo processor boots up in 12 seconds flat compared to the 33 that my 2 day old macbook pro i just purchased fully loaded with 8 gb of ram, intel core i7 processor, and a 500 gb sata drive..
If you wan't proof i'll even make a vid and show the recipt where i just purchased it brand new on Sat May 7 2011.

@canthony1019 Ok firstly, there's no such thing as a solid state hdd... HDD means hard disk drive while SSD means Solid State Drive.. They are different things.. And obviously it would be faster.... an SSD has a much greater read/write speed than the 500 GB HDD.... actually it's around 4 to 5 times faster

For All who is asking me how i got a macbook for $500, i bought it used from craiglist and installed 8 gb of ram by myself. However, i just bought the 2010 macbook pro unibody so i guess i am a hypocrite. But i have came a long way from internet porn and essays, and i am actually using my new found power to play hentai games and write Graduate school Papers :P

i got a macbook (A1357, 2.6ghz, 2gig RAM, 200g hard drive)
for the start of high school in australia, whilst at school and connected to the school network my macbook takes about 10secs to start up and on my home network it takes about 40secs.
Don't know why, it isn't set to boot of the network.

Wowthat Macbook Pro took a long time to boot up. I have late 2009 model, however, the specs are a little better; nonetheless it takes under 17 seconds and still maintains this speed!
Anyways to the PC losers who think the graphics cards suck, specs suck etc. you have to take into account that these computers are engineered to get way more out of their components. I used to spend endless amounts of money on replacing PC's...def. overstatements with regard to their specs vs. the mac's.

I can't get over how awful the macbooks graphics card is, it's also a bit thick and flimsy. Overall, wouldn't say it's a great computer. It's actually pretty crazy apple charged 1,600 for it. The aluminum macbook is just so much better.
