Holy crap, I can't believe it worked! I faced the same problem, but I fixed it by clicking on the line thingy that the indicator travels across, which I don't know any of the terminology for this shit, but just click on a spot until it starts playing. It'll play for only 5-10 seconds before stopping again, then just click one second ahead, then another, then another until it starts playing again. You'll miss some parts, but you'll see the overall package.
