There may be some individuals that do so just like there are many non muslims who judge us and see us as "backward, submissive, unintellegent women" and who have no right to think this, but we know they do.
I agree your manner is utmost importance no doubt, for us manner and cover/modesty go hand in hand. In Islam 1 without the other is considered hypocracy.

@ASA753 Alhumdulilah I reverted to Islam more than 4years ago. I wear hijab for my God, just like nuns do. I certainly do not wear it for my Husband and thats a fact.

The reason why Muhammad wanted the women to be covered up is because he did not have the will power to resist his sexual desires. Imagine what would have happened if Muhammad's followers wives didnt have headscarfs on? Then he would be raping muslim women because there were hardly any non-muslim women that he could get his hands on to rape. Muhammad was a rapist and he wanted women to protect their diginity by not getting raped by him.
