Is that the on the right corner Casablanca Spirit Of Saturn IT?It looks like it has a shorter downrod than the last Casablanca Spirit Of Saturn IT video.
This is based on the WIND though, which would originally have a cloth pull because of the way the chain is set up. The cloth pull just attaches to a standard beaded pull inside the switch housing. My black WINDs are in rough shape and I'm sure saw heavy use in their day, so the cloth pulls probably broke off or may have been cut, and beaded chain was added before I acquired them.
@pcdoctor2 No, because with 3 blades it spins faster as there is less weight and in 6 blades it spins slower as there is more weight so they blow the same amount of air in different blade configuration. Reply if you don't understand! :)
That's close, but technically speaking, 6 blades does move less air because of the added motor strain and because more blades "chop" the airstream more, interrupting the flow to an extent. It's just whether the human body can sense that or not, and with Homestead it's very difficult to tell a difference because their fans are freakin' powerful in any configuration.
That's pretty much the case with all 6-blade Homestead fans. They were very ingenious with their placement of holes on the motor, as well as with bracket spacing.
Wow the finish is in very good condition. It defintely has my favorite combination for theses. Polished brass, no light with theses beautiful golden oak blades. It looks very nice with four blades.
The whole thing is certainly very near mint, just slightly less use and it would be mint. I'm just glad I got to it before the switch cap/plate got all scratched up. I love this combo too, Homestead had such a rich polished brass finish and their wood finish blades are among the most gorgeous ever made.
About the same as with four or six blades. I can't tell much difference, it's powerful either way. But you're welcome, I was glad I found this so I could do three blades on this one and not worry about the other one for awhile.
I'd planned on doing a gun metal one but I have to sort the blades first. I also plan on redoing the Vogue Fan one, but it's not a hugger FYI. The first vid wasn't very good so I can definitely redo that one at some point.
right now (as for 5:46am texas time)on 12-18-11)it's off and still hanging in that spot with all the blades on it(more than 3 blades).. nice find cole!

I like how you can change the blades from 3 to 4 and 4 to 6 just like the other black fan.

Awesome! How is the airflow with three blades?
Btw thank you for granting my request for 3blade configuration.

I have two in the gun metal finish, and have both.

@mpsslovak Can you film the black gun metal one (and Vogue hugger fan) 3-blade?

Thanks for making the 3-blade video. It's kinda like your Homestead Santa Cruz video (that you uploaded back in October 2010) a bit.

I want to know. Does the number of blades on the fan determine how much air it blows?
