Mr. Fernandez was simply aware at that time of the importance of a passport as a valid ID. It was not his fault though. DFP have taught them that passports can be accepted as ID's., Mr. Fernandez only following the SOP of the credit card policy that always have a signatures of the card holders. To avoid forgery.

Signatures can, almost all of the times, be forged. And criminals using fraud credit cards are masters of forgery. If Mr. Fernandez purpose that time was to verify Mr. Fajardo's identity, the latter's passport could have sufficed the former's requirements.
How come the immigration officers accepted the validity of Mr. Fajardo's passport yet it was still an insufficient and unacceptable proof of identity for Mr. Fernandez.

The management should look into the issue very carefully. Are the employees esp the managers are really qualified to handle a very important position? Are they capable of handling customer complaints? Can they very well provide the right training for casual and regular employees?
He came back I heard 2 weeks ago at Duty Free, he bought something and paid using the same card. They didn't asked for any valid ID's. So I guess there really is a problem with the management style and inconsistency of employees.

Mr. Fernandez was simply aware at that time of the importance of a passport as a valid ID. It was not his fault though. DFP have taught them that passports can be accepted as ID's., Mr. Fernandez only following the SOP of the credit card policy that always have a signatures of the card holders. To avoid forgery.

f006612000, please pardon my ignorance but I believe Mr. Fajardo was not able to provide several valid ID's with SIGNATURES. The most important ID he was able to provide was his present and valid PASSPORT w/out the signatures.
He just arrived from abroad right? The immigration officers (both abroad and in the Philippines) acknowledged that the person holding the passport as well as the person pictured in that passport was Mr. Fajardo. Immigration officer needs training again.

f006612000, honestly anyone who has logical minds will take the passport as the best proof of identity. Why? As I have said, it has the name of the owner along w/ a PICTURE. A picture of the owner can never be forged. Can you forge a picture?
Signatures can, almost all of the times, be forged. And criminals using fraud credit cards are masters of forgery. If Mr. Fernandez purpose that time was to verify Mr. Fajardo's identity, the latter's passport could have sufficed the former's requirements.

The management should look into the issue very carefully. Are the employees esp the managers are really qualified to handle a very important position? Are they capable of handling customer complaints? Can they very well provide the right training for casual and regular employees?

MARVIN WAS RIGHT. Whatever identifications he shows to Marvin are useless unless it was signed by the holder. What Marvin did is the exact procedure on how to accept transactions on Credit Card basis. His previous purchases using his credit card that accepted his identity without question is a different story. Not all cashiers are well informed and well oriented regarding the danger behind Identity Theft in credit card transactions others are only after sales and profit.
