  • this video is superb !

  • Tremendous.

  • Maravilloso maestro Paul Simon, lo mejor de la noche sin duda, de hecho una de las mejores versiones que he escuchado en mi vida.

  • I've always admired the body of work that Mr. Simon has done...I'm so proud of him that he won the first Gershwin Award. (You can buy the entire concert on DVD...it's truly beautiful.) I love the way he made this song his own. Sheer genius.

  • Wow. Only word I can think of to sum up how I feel about that performance.

  • What a performance!!

  • if you watched this with closed captions the lyrics were the same as always, but paul didn't sing them that way.some say he messed up; some say he changed the words up.

  • This is why he is great....that arrangement is genius, and beautiful,,,just wonderful

  • Wow... i don't know what to say... best beach boys cover... really!!!

  • My two favorite American Songwriters.LOVE THIS

  • that...was...awesome. very different but just as gorgeous.

  • So beautiful this brings tears to my eyes

  • There just isn't anybody that compares to Paul, period. How lucky we are to be living at the time as this icon who so elegantly enhances our lives.

  • goosebumps

  • radio city??

  • east coast meets west coast

  • Great song but didn't he sound like Mathezar in Galaxy Quest at 2:55?

  • Mix the best singer with the best songwriter and this is what you get...

    Perfection.

  • @StimpsonJay But the best songwriter being paul simon and the best singer being wilson,in the case(after all is not art garfunkel singing),of course...well,while wilson was writing about fun, fun, fun and surfer girls simon was writing about the sound of the silence and about the wednesday in the 3.a.m...and the melodies, well, not as rich in arrangment as brian´s,but much more deeper

anyway, brian is a genius, just had to write this.

  • @StimpsonJay you mean brian wilson?

  • @StimpsonJay That statement would still be true if the roles were reversed. Both absolutely brilliant singer/songwriters.

  • Nice treatment of a classic.

  • Best part of this concert by far.

  • Paul Simon has one of the best male pop voices of the 20th and 21st century. His Rhythm of the saints concert in Melbourne in 1992 was mind blowing.

  • Of course Paul Simon rocked it.

  • the best version of surfer girl ever

  • awesome

  • actually I am not a huge fan of Paul simon but he does this sooo welll ... great job ...

  • Touching performance. So elegantly stripped down in sound he could have been on the stage naked and no one would have noticed.

  • i love seeing talent paying tribute, amazing,

  • This brings back the time when I was seventeen in so many ways. I still feel as if I am still standing at the seashore, listen to that song and have HIM in my heart :) Its so long ago...

  • as a sunshine mr. simon is brilliant

  • thank you so much for posting this......unbelievably beautiful!

  • What a marvelous rendition and the liberties he takes are actually quite nice. Sometimes one doesn't want to just hear a by the numbers cover. And his voice? My how it has aged like wine. In fact he hits the higher register notes better than he did in many respects with S & G. Of course those were usually left for Garfunkel but the way Simon transitions vocal registers on this clip is quite stunning and very fluid. Quite nice!

  • @shinsaholic what you said about pauls voice aging like wine was beautiful and absolutely true! what a nice thing to say! =)

  • @PaulSimonIsCUTE lol

    nice name

  • @c64c64c64 why thank you ! XD

  • Mr. Simon, I thank you for you. What a beautiful cover you did.
