@denizkendirci not sure what you mean, but my parents don't care about my harmonica playing.... it was my own love for the instrument that made me practise....
@denizkendirci ha.. no worries... I sent that reply cause many people seems to assume that young Asians performing on stage have been imposed unrealistic expectations and was forced to go thru hellish inhumane training given by their lion dads and tigress moms....
@jason950216 you try doing it! you probably cant even whistle it, never mind moving your hand to change notes. This guy is playing very quickly and without making mistakes.
To people looking for SoldatSolutrea's comment, it's this "Well don't we have quite the model here. He plays a White man's instrument, dresses like a White man, and can write in a White man's language. Great performance, keep it up!" Basically them being a racist jackass and jealous of the fact that they cant do this.

This is awesome. I've been playing a diatonic in C and I was thinking how great it would be to play this, although I'm not so sure it will work as well if at all
@pk11052000 the button is to raise the note one semitone higher. As this song is full of chromatic scale, I have to push in the button every other note.
Young man, you are not to be ashamed of that nice performance. You have many years left! Vibrato on this song is tough. Better tone = practice slower and holding notes and USE THE EARS...This gives dynamic musical expression. I want you to search Robert Bonfiglio, Jimi Lee, William Clarke. Listen to Jimi Lee's vibrato when he plays the 10 hole diatonic chromatically. Listen to Clarke's expression on Chromatic and Robert, well, he's a genius. Blend these 3 and you'll be a virtuoso too
If you would be so kind, I can use a little help? With respect to your embouchure; are you using tongue-blocking or lip-pucker? I am not certain if I can ask this next question corectly. Given your harp is in C-major. Do you start playing on a draw note, which may be called cross-harp or G, or on a blow note which is most likely C? The Bee seems to sound better and flow smoother on the draw, but this might be my imagination. Hopefully your friend and fan, Eddie in New York.
I have heard them all and appreciate them all, from the classics to the note bending blues players. You definately have a TALENT and are not shy to play the difficult Bee and give it your best up on a stage in front of an audience which means you are an entertainer and a good one at that. Adler has always been my all-time hero on the harp, now I like Lee Oscar and a few others. If I have learned anything after about seventy years in the business, I know potential when I see it! Eddie in NY.
Thank you so much for your compliment and I am grateful that you like my video. @aikkie Great playing. I dont play harmonica, but I always appreciate musical virtuosity. I checked out Larry Adler and Tommy Reilly because of your mention. They are great... but what do you think of John Popper from Blues Traveller?
I am an old guy and have been playing the harp forever along with a few other instruments. To my recollection Larry Adler would not go anywhere near the Bee. The Harmonicats recorded a thing called "Beating the Bee" but that was just a slow boogie beat version. I resurected the sheet music for the Harry James version and am giving it a whack on the my Hohner harp and let me tell you this is going to take me some time to even get close to this asian kid even with all of his shortcomings.
An amazing performance! I don't think that Larry Adler could have played that. This feat should make Lee Oscar and the blues guy's nuts, no amount of note bending or out of tune overblows etc. etc. I can't play it so I won't knock it....I am fast but not that proficient, however I am going to take a whack at it. Incredible! Eddie in New York.
I'm sorry, but this is very, very far from Larry Adler class, or any proficient classic harmonica player. Note quality goes up and down, from awesome to mediocre. Some rythm hickups as well.
That wouldn't happen to Larry Adler.
Though, it is a very nice amateur performance, and with another 2000 or so hours of practice, it might get really enjoyable. The young man has talent, no doubt.
