Child in Time is the greatest song that was ever created in my opinion! This one is very very intense, thank you very much Dimagg! I have also a rare recording from Stockholm 1970 in my list. Must be also very early. Do you have some facts about it? Would be nice! :)
@maxxblade Some call this show(bootleg) - Richie's Blues .
Deep Purple 1969-08-24 Paradiso Amsterdam
Soundboard Tape!
01. Kneel & Pray
02. Child In Time
03. Mandrake Root (Fade out)
04. Wring That Neck
05. Richie's Blues
06. Paint it black
Deep Purple's gig at the Paradiso on the 24. August 1969 has, in retrospect, turned out to be a rare chance for fans to get a glimpse of what the band sounded like in the early Mark 2 period.
@Dimagg1973 For the first time, here's the chance to read bassist Roger Glover's own notes from that period.
Although this gig is not out officially, it's well known among Deep Purple collectors. A bootleg LP simply titled "Paradiso Amsterdam, August 23. 1969" suddenly appeared out of the blue in 1987. The recording had been well known among collectors from tape lists over the years, but this was something different.
The graetest guitar solos of all recorded performances of "Child in time" is on the album "Powerhouse" ! On the BBC tapes there is an other big one, but I think that was the best from Ritchie...
The studio version solo on the intro to the lengthy guitar solo that follows is magical, it sounds so beautiful and melodic.
Jon Lord is doing a good job in that spot but most performances after 1969 maybe a few early 70 have organ.
Child in Time os Timeless - no wander that in the movie Twister this solo was playing - well they had Mark 3 video footage (CA Jam) over the Child in Time :-).
AWESOME !!!

You've got great videos! Do you know who has edited the echo to these live songs? It sounds quite annoying.

If my memory serves me well, the Powerhouse Child in Time
was recorded during the Concerto.
On the Concerto CD set they have the WTN, Child in Time and Hush. We can see the CiT clip on the DVD of the Concerto

Actually, in Holland CIT was a number 1 in the top 100 of all times and Jan De Bont, maker of Twister is DUTCH.
So thats probably the reason itrubbed off and got into the movie....
