It is possible to play MHF2 via ad hoc. Just go to the guild hall pressing the required button to go into online mode.

i am having the same problem too. our ad hoc is set to automatic, we went to the same gathering hall but nothing. although there was a moment where the screen turned black and when it come to, i was the only one there. lol. did you get yours to work?

there is an online gathering hall and an offline.

there isn't any; however, you can use xkai link or something like that. I recommend googling it alongside with monster hunter. I believe you can use a mic with it. Also, if you have a ps3, you can create a japanese PSN account and download a free application that is called AD-HOC party and play online that way. =]

@joecanjump so all you need for ad hoc and monster hunter is like if u n ur buddy are in the same room u can do a local ad hoc without needing to go online right? like my buddy just got it and i got it psp 3000 and mhfu love the game just wanted to know cuz we dont have a ps3
