  • seemed to take a really long time to get from 260 to 275 there. Thats odd. I have not pushed mine too hard but I think that at the top end it should get from 260 to 280 faster. However ... you were out in traffic .. that makes it really hard to do. On a track I am sure it would all be different.

  • ...and this is probably the slowest Porsche sports car around

  • imagine what if its going to be funny the driver and the camera end up in and accedent LOL

  • Ford.... Or Porsche, same? Dont think so. And by the way, a straight six Ford engine? When was that?

  • @InStyleDK When was that? They've been making them in Australia for over 20 years, where have you been? I can pick up a 35k Oz Ford stock and pull a mid 12 quarter mile. Don't believe me just have a look on youtube for fpv typhoons. My point was that for being so expensive and being called a performance car, these Porsches aren't that quick, they are a lovely car but heavily over priced.

  • @EweTubee In terms of a drag race and top speed, it is well-known that Porsches get out performed by many other cars. If you are looking at a Porsche for top speed, you are looking at it for the wrong purpose. Porsche's are track cars, they are extremely well balanced and are very quick through corners. Their steering ratio's are absolutely perfect. This is why the GT2 RS holds a 7:18 lap time on the Nurburgring and why Porsche's have often out peformed Ferrari's and Lamborghini's.

  • @ansark11 That's a good point, they are an excellent track car, you are correct.

  • 5 secs for 0-100 not many cars and by the way even tho i love bmw's there is no quote such as m3 looks much faster either u are under 15 or a girl but girls like porsches so you are underaged for driving sir..

  • i would rather buy evo 8.

  • Oh dear god he was flashing the high beam to someone in front of him while driving at 275 km/h !!!!

  • wow .. redline shifting! That would scare the hell out of me. I tend to shift before 4000rpm and often when driving on the highway and around town I shift at 2500. I see that you are getting 15.5 litres per 100 km and that is awesome given the performance. I personally think that the Porsche brandname gives you the best performance for the efficiency with all the safety, BOSE stereo and air conditioning. Really, you can not go wrong with a Porsche. The Michelin Pilot tires will cost you however!

  • i thought this would be faster.... the bmw m3 looks much faster!

  • for a porsche that 0-100 is shocking, a 30,000k Ford that weighs 2 tonnes does it in 5 and a bit.

  • @EweTubee ya but nobody tends to stare at that car and by the way that fords interior is shit as well as its unreliable engine

  • @W4TCH4W HAHAH Ford has one of the most reliable engines in the world. The straight 6 Ford engine can clock millions of KM's without needing to be opened. Let's see how many Porsches do that. It's pathetic that Porches cost that much but my 15k Ford would demolish it. And the way a car looks is a matter of opinion, and in my opinion Porsches all look the same, that same old boring shape. I was just pointing out that this "performance" car is sub par in the performance element.

  • @EweTubee i agree ford is great but i love the look of the porches

  • no llego a los 280 fome el videooo..

  • <3 german Autobahn

  • du hast mal eben auf 180km den Durchschnitt von 14.7 auf 15.6 Liter gehoben :D

  • Great performance but imagine hitting a tree at this speed.

  • @nielsboex "but imagine hitting a tree at this speed." That was completely random.

  • @nielsboex

    heh :)

  • @nielsboex the guy was probrably german in a german car on the german autobahn...we won't be hitting a tree anytime soon...

  • 6 secs .. till it hit 60mph not bad at all

  • @24Slexani its 5.2

  • @24Slexani more like just under 5

  • @foxhounduk2k8 mate a m5 v10 does 60mph in 4.5 don't tell me this does it in under 5 thats just plain bullshit

  • @24Slexani @24Slexani @24Slexani it looked like 5 seconds to me lol. i know officially the 2007 cayman is meant to do 0-60 in 5.1s. the 2010 cayman s does it in 4.9s with PDK. Check it out for yourself; go to Google, type in Diseno-art (car spec website) and find Porsche from the sports car menu at the top.

    take care

  • @24Slexani The Cayman S does it in 4.9 with the PDK double clutch and the Cayman R does it in 4.6 with the PDK ... it all depends on road conditions and all that jazz ... but just remember this ... the Cayman S weighs about 3,000 lbs. with the PDK transmission and the Cayman R just about 2,900 lbs. with the PDK ... the 2010 M5 weighs upwards of 4,000 lbs. ... power to weight ratio is very important in a car.

  • @xxMaKaVeLLixx Oh and if you have all those options like the sport and sport plus with the launch control then it's possible for the Cayman to be that fast ... and Porsche is talking about 0- 60 times from a stand still on a closed course and all that ... this guy was just driving to the top speed and he isn't a professional race car drive so I'm sure the time can be off by a few tenths of a second or so ... it all depends like I've said before.

  • all thats left is some tuning to the engine and it will be a better car to drive than a normal 911 :P

  • I love how the engine revs up to like 2500 before the car starts moving.

    Heavy ass fucking machine :P

  • yes @aintnopity - I wish I could too ! but its more the wear n tear, what if you could go along the autobahn at 150mph but the engine was only ticking over at about 3k rpm instead of nearer six - I love thrashing by cayman to the red line - theres a second sort of kick after about 5k, noise gets madder and it gets going even more, wonderful,,...

  • 5kms in 80 seconds.

  • 6925 km? and u r doing that? do u want to trash the engine?

  • @MrDuce96 it was designed for it .. no really it was. Mobil 1 synthetic oil and top fuel and let it rip.

  • it's a very good rival for the nissan gtr...my opinion..:D

  • @pitbuldoinciupi are you crazy? the nissan gtr have as rival the porsche 911 turbo

  • @renal76littlediddy ...it possible..after 280..the gtr..is very slowly..it takes about 18 sec from 280 to 300

  • @pitbuldoinciupi AFTER! but til 280 theres no comparison...

  • a stage 3 srt does this in 33 seconds...

  • yawn

  • i have a cayman S, havent had it that fast (live in UK!) only 135mph or so. mines a manual and I think the sixth gear is a bit too short , you can take it at about 35-40 mph giving you less that 2K revs when crusing about. think it short be much longer, like an overdrive gear so when at motorway speeds (or top speed) the engine is working less hard, less wear n tear and better fuel consumption.....

  • @timelinetwist yeah but we in germany use the 6th gear for accelaration, not saving fuel

  • I Kilometri percorsi a 280 Km orari sono 7, in 1.20 minuti...????

  • @pennello123 4.5km al minuto

  • Holy shit that climbs so slowly once it goes over 130 mph.

  • wow da hätte ich eher einen 911er vermutet!!!!!!!!!

  • :D und schön gemütlich SWR3 hören!!! GEIL!!!

    *****

  • 15 l. - 100km , nice :)

  • that is called great acceleraion

  • @andy55055 , ahhh.....no. More like 4.9sec. Buy a real stopwatch.

  • whats the fuel econ ratio under the speed? something/100km?

  • @Brewskies24 you can read that the average consumption for 180km went up from 14.8 to 15.6 in like a minute.. must be quite a lot. but then again it was still accelerating.

  • German cars are the BEST!! Mostly the Porsche.

Respect for Porsche ^^ and for the driver =)

    (from Hungary)

  • is it auto because i don't see the light that tells you to shift , anyway looks nice as fuck

  • Und nebenher schön SWR3 hören :D

  • lol 0.54 Lichthupe!!!

  • It wasn´t 280...

  • alejandron1984 Go figure you have a jetta. Guys like you are always justifying reasons NOT to own a porsche. Youll never Know how sweet it can be. Step up to the plate. And your best idea is to buy a motor cycle? really? go on with your practical life ZZZzzzzzz

  • mmmmmm???????????????

  • Eh, for me a car is more of a practicality thing. I drive a jetta TDI, not a fast car by any means, but i can drive all week on a tank of fuel. A a car to go fast is just rediculous. Sure your heart races...for a minute. then you have to slow down because of fear of cops or w/e. You want to go fast? buy a motorcycle.. You can go faster, accelerate faster. And stay faster. Cops dont fuck with you cause they cant catch you. And where money leeches go for nice cars, every girl likes a bike

  • @Syrus231 în Germany we don't have fear of cops because we can drive mostly as fast as we want :)

  • @Syrus231 Hahah... have a transfer to germany and don't be afraid of cops anymore !

  • @Syrus231 This is the German Autobahn =) Also, when you crash a cayman, the cayman is totalled, but not you. Not so for a motorcycle.

  • @Syrus231 No matter how fast you think your bike is, it cannot out run a radio. To think cops won't pull you over is as ludicrous as thinking you can sustain 160 mph plus on a two wheeled death machine that can loose control with a strong gust of wind.

  • @brscth

    lose control fyi, not loose

  • i would buy one of these as a second vehicle if i could... i just can't seem to justify to myself the impracticality. so i have a merc instead, e550 coupe, which does 0-60 quite a bit quicker anyway and has so much to offer. :) and btw, you don't buy a car to get ladies to like you. that's ridiculous.

  • OMG!

    Er hört halt SWR3^^

  • I don't pull chicks with my Cayman I pull wheelies! :D

  • i saw one on the motorway the other day doing 80mph. i had to laugh at the biddy little pop up spoiler. haha. you got your 'spoiler' up there ? chumpass.

  • No need to be envious bud, just cause you don't drive one. Yes, it does come up above 70 because it helps stability and aerodynamics. What do you drive that makes you, um, not a chumpass?

  • i could seriously afford one of these in cash, but its not something that appeals to me. i once had quite a powerful bmw and tbh, i felt like a right twat. i had it for less than a year. im into practicality and reality. 70mph is the limit. as i grow mature, i realise pop up spoilers, bucket seats and the like are not only unnecessary, but they tend to reflect an inadequacy of some content for the occupants. i just think the times have changed and what was once admiration is now often ridicule.

  • @ianupton do you pull chicks with that?

  • you will have to learn the hard way that 'you' dont pull the chicks, the car and promise of money does. to me thats not chicks. thats future problems and money grabbers. if you cant get laid for who you are, your just a male prostitute. lose the job, lose the porsche. lose the lady....better to be incognito.

if you want to live, follow me...

  • @ianupton if you want to reallyy live, push your porsche to 270 kph and you heart rate is at 160 bpm then ull know when your living

  • @ianupton i could note be more agree and if ppl think they look better in a expensive car they will only look better for empty ppl just like them goldigger bitches for example and you dont want her to take care f your kids

  • @ianupton Don't see the problem with bucket seats.....they're all well and good.

  • So because you think u grew up (in ur opinion) everyone has to think the same way you do?

  • And it is the one with the automatic transmission, boring

  • Rocket ship

  • I have to say this doesn't seem that fast to me. I ride a Honda CB500 which is by no means a fast bike (0-100kmh 4.5s, quarter mile in 13.5s) and I'm sure it's considerably quicker acceleration than this. Yet a Cayman S or similar is definitely a car I wouldn't mess with on the road...I just expected the speedo to move faster. Maybe it's just an illusion because the gradations are 50kmh, quite wide...

  • @joechesshyre

For only about 295 HP it is very quick! The speedo does not move quick, because of the small angle.

  • @kavakava1234

You're right, it's actually much quicker than my bike, at least over 100kmh. 0-100 is about the same but this gets to 150 in about 9 s whereas the CB500 is about 11 or 12. Like I said, I wouldn't try and mess with one of these if I saw one (not that I 'mess' with cars that often anyway...)

  • @joechesshyre that and the speedo covers just 180° of the circle

  • @joechesshyre and my comment is way late as is can see...

  • Yes, why do Porsche do that? I like to see a speedo needle move quickly!

  • @joechesshyre good question. i wondered too. but i guess we'll never get a satisfying answer on this

  • yeah it does make it look slow, but then you see that the intervals are 50 km apart, and it's pretty quick when you realize that

  • I agree, for the money I'd expect something a little more exciting than that. My old RX-7 seemed quicker.

  • Well if it was stock it wasn't...Cayman S is pretty quick plus this is a Tip, not as quick as the 6 speed.

  • Nice

  • Lichthupe, hehehe

  • SWR3 :D

  • the tiptronic ruins the magic of this car! changing gears at the limiter with a manual gearbox is an amazing feeling!

  • I agree! I drove a Boxster 2.7 with tiptronic for a week and I think it ruins the whole car. It felt slower than the first Boxter 2.5 with 204cv...but its very good for city driving :)

  • 300kmh-186mph

  • You probly drive a civic and your bashing this to make yourself feel better. Caymans and boxters are built to be affordable. It's acceleration is exactly how it should be for its power to weight ratio, if you want fastser you choose one of the 15 versions of the 911.

  • 0:32 Acceleration Completed

  • Sick cars, sick speed. Gotta love Porsche

  • SWR3 - Der Porsche ist zuhause!

  • i had no idea this car could go 175

  • you can get black dashboard for every Porsche...just visit the hp

  • Can you get the dashboard in black for an S? If not he's driving a base model. Either way he's still driving a Cayman and I'm envious.

  • On the Cayman S dashboard the speed limit is 300 km/h, on the base model 280 km/h. That's the way to know what model is. And yes you can get the dashboard in black for an S. You can get black, white, red and yellow.

  • you can customize the interior in every way possible when you build the car. so yes, it could be the S, or the base.

  • THAT 0-60 WAS STUPID FAST WOW

  • That's because it's in KM/H...

  • i knew that LOL. it was still kinda fast tho...

  • :D

    I lol'd

  • @KingFreak07 6-7 seconds? assuming your talking mph really overall a fast car but not stupid fast. stupid fast is a 0-100mph in 3.5 seconds

  • that is a nice video

but i think it's a normal cayman, too

  • Круто!

  • absolute stupid and indiscriminate

  • das waren ja gar nich 280 xD

  • cool vid

    great performance

    love it

  • 6900km engine. Reall eager to go fast!

  • SWR3 xD

  • it need 1 minute and 19 second to get 0-175

  • great

  • ??????

".... so much aerodynamic downforce they would EASILY be able to reach 250 mph (402 kph)"

Not true!! Downforce is there you make sure the car is stabile. And an stabile car can drive faster. A car with no downforce will simpley fly of the road, like a small airplane. A car with no downforce don´t have grip, and with no grip, you cant get speed. The two things go together.

No one can drive 250 mph without downforce, to keep the car stabile and maintain grip.

  • not necessarily. In a straight line, one car with tons of down force cannot travel as fast as the same car with less down force. In certain situations, down force can limit a car's speed because of the extra load and "weight" it creates.

  • So! A drag racer would go faster without the huge wing on the back?? No really my friend... see my point(?)

It´s just not true, filiphilopeno! A fast car needs downforce, to make it stable, thats a simple fact!

Take a look at the famus clip from Le Mans years ago. Where a racecar, going straigt ahead, dont have 100 % downforce, with 340 km/h. It´s takes off and spind in the air like at plane with no wings...

    Downforce is everything.

  • you both make good points...911claus downforce DOES limit top speed of a car. However you are right in the sense that if a car had none of it, it would fly off the road. Drag cars of course need it for stability and grip. However they do short distance runs and top speed isn't their goal...it is acceleration. Achieving traction to those massive rear wheels greatly helps with acceleration, thus the need for those large rear spoilers.

  • It does limit the top speed. Correct! But as you wrote; you NEED downforce in a fast car! Othervise you are gone....

I´m talking about real racecars, not drag cars or similar!

  • Thats not true... rear wing helps with downforce on the back, forcing the front up, therefore you have a front splitter to have downforce on the front.

and you're wrong on the Le Mans... the mercedes didnt flip because of a not 100% downforce. It flipped because it hit a bump and air was caught under it pushing it up... you have to remember the underside of those cars are like a wing from an airplane

  • So what you say is; downforce is everything ;-) Thank you for that! Only one car, my friend, does not need downforce. A rocket with wheels! But thats not what we are talking about here. Real cars, with real people and real driveing skills needs downforce when speed goes past 200 mph. plus.

One thing about the Mercedes accident, they - Mercedes, was the only one the blame a hump. Everybody else said downforce problems was the main cause!

Fast cars needs downforce. Every pro driver knows thay

  • when you are going at those kinds of speeds you need an exponential amount of horsepower to move past the aero drag. Also Gearing plays a huge part in top speed

  • Fast, but i was expecting more from 295bhp :)

  • How could you when the 200bhp more powerful GT-R only does 15mph more?

  • The aerodynamics don't let the car increase the speed. Every slit and vent you see is the GT-R help with downforce drag. With downforce drag, you lower the top speed. If the F1 cars didn't have so much aerodynamic downforce they would EASILY be able to reach 250 mph (402 kph).

Point is, the GT-R was made to be a track car so it has a lot of downforce to help in corners. As a result it lowers its top speed.

  • haha, no shit dude!

I though downforce gave the car higher top speed! :D

    jeez..

  • my commodore does 220km/h after that i dont know the speedo ends there

  • A GTR is the same price as this Cayman S after you package them identically.

  • Comment removed

  • porsche ... the best

  • 1.02

You where flashing your headlights as in "get the fuck away from my lane!!". Lol :p

  • Dude i can totally attest to how kickass of a car this is. I just got back from work and had to work on one of these today (New tires and an alignment) When i road tested this car I could not believe how amazing it drove. I thought it'd be as shitty of a feel as a Boxter, but what a ride.

  • in german autobahn you can drive as fast as you want...cops fuck.

  • ok i not remember that

  • its fast

  • THE GEARBOX IS MUCH BETTER IN THE 911

  • Comment removed

  • 1) it's tiptronic

    2) your caps lock is on

    3) you're an idiot

  • u kno the cayman an the boxster are the most affordable porsches now, if u had good credit but if u want the cayman big brother u better have sum cold hard cash

  • natürlich is das ein porsche, das erkennt man am amaturenbrett

  • omg this cars fuel economie is rly good. at vmax, it does 15.5L/100km!!! thats better then my suv :S

  • Yeah, but that car is runnin on maximum power^^

  • did you just compare a porsche to an suv? hmm, dont ever compare fuel economy with such a huge difference in vehicles, that is just weird...

  • vmax on a cayman and normal city driving on a suv... save consumption is actually comparable ifu think bout it a lil harder

  • But I mean why would you compare two completely different classes of cars. If you were to compare two suv's or something, sure go ahead, but one sports car and the other an SUV... i mean to me if just is useless to do so, but hey if it makes you smile at night, go for it...

  • Good video.

  • great cars,love them.

they nearly keep up with my Renault megane lol

  • lexus ??? thats the most overpriced cars

    a new ls 460 cost 90.000 €

a new Bmw 740i 80.000 €, and the lexus is full with plastic, 7er is high quality

  • cooler radiosender =)

  • wirklich cooles gerät

  • I was bored & don't know what to do, so I wrote "Daewoo Matiz" in the search bar & I ended up with this video... Really weird... Anywayz, really nice run :-)

  • ahahahah lol

  • moron))

  • hey that's funny cuz porsche's were never made with V6's.

haha, i like uneducated pigheaded people that spam up youtube

  • Comment removed

  • One likes boxer, another prefers V6. Porsche makes V8 so why not choose that instead of V6?

  • Comment removed

  • I agree that V8 engine doesn't fit in sports car. Maybe that is the reason why porsche uses it in Cayenne. Some american car enthusiastics may disagree, but I (we?) don't care. :)

Well, Cayman isn't really a sport car and I think it's not meant to. But I like the sound and the way Porsche uses boxer engine.

  • Me too. These guys are arguing ignorance against stupidity; may the best man win? I also learned, from these two, that V8's don't work in 'sport cars.' I guess I'll have to go back in time and reorganize GT racing to exclude V8's for the last, oh, 45 years or so...and that's just to start. We'll get those V8's outta sport cars! Damn straight!

  • Have you ever even heard a boxer engine in real life!?!?!? You are saying all the 911's and boxers sound worse than V6s!?!?!? are you on fucking crack!?!? Go back to playing your "tuner" racing games asshole and stay off of youtube troll

  • rockinroland: I think you replied to the wrong guy. I said no such thing. I have an '07Cayman S--and it's not a video game; it's in my garage right now. I was commenting on the guy saying V8's don't work in sports cars.
