Hey.. Wheels are completely different from boards. I would bet that most wheels come from just a few company's making urethane and then each skate company puts on its own graphic.. SO.. I say find your size and width you like and support your favorite company and team!

Completly and tottally wrong if you really skated you would realize some companys wheels last longer than others for example if i skate spitfire 54 i will get flatspots close to a month and will shrink in size drastically other than bones which will slowly go down and get flat spots MAYBE in 6 months.

what someone recommended to me was an enjoi. they are light nice concave and it dosent have that medal ply in it like some boards. also you want to get a board that is wide enough for your feet. they said that it was a good board for beginners and for a first board. i like mine alot. hope this helps :)
